1 John 5:14-15 New Living Translation (NLT)
14 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 15 And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.
    Hello All,
I would like to first of all thank and Praise Jesus Christ for granting us our Green Card.
We have been waiting for 11 years and finally, God granted our request in His time.  Praise God!
Our Field office was Hartford Field office.
I thought Hartford field office was a slow field office and was planning to move to another state where the timings are fast.
But God's plan was even better.  He gave me interview in Hartford field office itself.

    Interview Experience (Employment Based)
    --------------------
Me, wife and son came to the office around 9:25 AM.  9:30 was the interview.
Very nervous.  Went to the reception and gave the appointment letters.  After some time, the receptionist called again for taking the photos.
He mispronounced my last name. Went there and gave the driving license and he took the photo.   After that took the wife's photo.
Came back to the waiting area and sat.
Few minutes went by. Son wanted to play with our wedding rings. I took the rings from him and he started crying.
Lo and Behold! An officer is standing  in front of us and he was looking playfully at my son.
I initially thought, the officer came there to scold me as my son was crying.
In fact, that was our IO!
He didn't call our names. He had our photographs and he came to find us in the waiting room..
He escorted us to his office.
    We were still nervous.
The IO understood that and told that he know that we have a small child and he will try to make it short and sweet as possible.
IO also told that children under 14 are not required to attend the interview.
We wanted to point out some corrections. He noted them down.
He asked the basic questions in I 485 to both of us.
Then asked how long I have been working with the Company and my salary.
He then verified whether a visa number is available.  He said it is available and told that he is approving the case right away!!!!
IO occasionally cracked some jokes to make us feel comfortable.
And praise God, we got the plastic cards in mail after about 5 days.

    Only 1 minor problem happened:
The correction which we pointed out for my wife didnt actually get corrected in the Plastic Card. So, we have submitted an I 90 for replacing the card for my wife.

Other than that, everything went very smooth and God has granted us our prayer requests.  Thank you Jesus!
I also want to thank this forum and its members for providing valuable information for the entire process.

We had our AOS interview yesterday at the Detroit Field office and we got approved on the Spot . Our appointment is at 11:20AM and we reached there and passed through the security around 11:00. And we waited in the large waiting area for about 40 minutes until the Office called my name for the interview. The IO is a very sweet middle aged white lady and she appeared to have gone through my application thoroughly and the moment we walked into her office, she said she doesn't have any questions about the validity of my marriage and she just need to verify some basic information and she would approve my green-card. Everything went very smooth. She just verified the stuff on the forms like my DOB, parents names, current address and when i came into US, what visa statuses i had and so on. And then the mandatory YES/NO questions from form I-485. And then she asked my wife if its her signature on the forms and she checked with me about my signatures as well. The interview lasted for about 15 or 20 minutes and at the end, she said she just approved the Green-card and she ordered for the card. I requested to see if she can place the I-551 stamp on my passport but she said it's only required if I am travelling within the next one or two weeks outside the USA. So I didn't get a stamp on my passport. She explained about the conditional residency and we need to apply for ROC in about 21 months and made us sign a document referring to the 2 year conditional residency and removal of conditions. And we thanked the Immigration officer for her help and support and she walked us out to the waiting area and we thanked her and said good bye for now.

So overall it was a great experience and very easy than i expected. The IO did't even ask for any originals or any documents. We brought with us a whole bunch of documents and 4 albums of pictures. But she did't even look at them. So I believe a strong application with good explanation letter about evolution of relationship helped us alot. The IO even commented it to my wife who wrote the "Evolution of relationship letter" that she loved how my wife explained everything in her letter addressing the officer.

I thank you all the VJ filers for their valuable support and advice they gave me through this AOS journey and I wish you all the very best and hoping for your AOS to go as smoothly as possible. 😁

    Hi guys!
This is beyond frustrating! today is day 120 and nothing. My wife and I called USCIS and spoke to an agent who basically told us nothing about her case.
According to the website and the agent EADs are taking approximately 4 to 6 months to process. I really hope our case hasn't fallen through the cracks.
Trying to stay positive here but sometimes I can't help to think that something horrible happened to our documents. I hope you guys receive some good news in the upcoming days.
Let's stay positive. We are all in this together :).

    Hello guys!

i want to say thank to everyone who has supported, helped throughout this entire journey of immigration including k1 @Shoegum who had prepared the sheets to track the cases and others who helped with the documentation process of AOS.

I had my interview yesterday and was approved - they said they will mail the card in 1-2 weeks. The entire process took 100 days with maybe additional two days of filing. I strongly believe that everyone should keep some patience (its hard and i know easier said than done), hopeful and soon your time will come!

I also want to share an interesting experience regarding our interview process. Before we were called in by the immigration officer, there was a married couple next to us - the immigration officer came to them and told the husband and wife that he would like to speak to the wife separately first and then will get back to the husband to talk to them. The immigration officer made the husband sit outside. Looking at that, my husband and I were puzzled. When my name was called out, the immigration officer called us both inside her cabin and finished up the interview process which took only 15 mins. We walked out with the approval. I think they do this separation if they sense fraud or if they feel they need more information. I'm sure many of you are aware of this separation of married couples, however, it depends on the field offices. For the ones who don't know I just thought this is an opportunity to tell you guys so you're prepared for it even though I don't think that will happen in case of K1 cases because we legally come to the US based on our true love hehe

All the best to you guys! and i'm ready to help in case if anyone has questions - drop me a message

Now if only I could get some luck with the interview scheduling, that'd be the cherry on top!

We had our interview this week, a bit of a harrowing experience so thought I'd share.

The interview was on 9/25/18 in Memphis, TN.  We are very lucky that the the field office is three blocks from our condo.  We arrived 45 minutes early (scheduled for 8 am) and there were already several couples there.  The security and staff were very welcoming and friendly, and really made an effort to make everyone feel at ease.  We got called back shortly after 8 am.  Our IO was very friendly, just like everyone else we encountered there.  I brought a mountain of evidence, but all she asked us for were our passports.  She told us the file was in great shape, and the interview was merely a formality.  But, there was a but.........

The doctor in Brazil who performed my wife's vaccinations checked the wrong box on the form.  So, they couldn't accept it, even though the vaccinations were documented correctly.  So, she was going to have to give us an RFE.  We were immediately defeated, as we had meticulously prepared for this day only to be delayed by someone else's mistake.  On top of all of this, we are closing on a house very soon and the bank needs to see an I-485 approval to consider my wife's income for the loan (this is a whole other story)!  I frantically explained this to the IO, and she was very receptive and we could tell she really felt for us.  She told us to take the form to a civil surgeon to be corrected.  She told us when we got it corrected we could come back to see her and gave us a verbal commitment that we would receive immediate approval along with a letter and passport stamp.  She even told the security to expect us in the next few days and to let us in the office.

So, we did just that.  But it doesn't end there.  We were able to see a civil surgeon that day.  But, when she reviewed the form she discovered that not only did the doc check the wrong box, he gave my wife improper vaccines!  So, she ended up having to have another round of shots that were not cheap!  She also told us that she has seen several people from Brazil with the exact same issue and coming from the same doctor!  So, if you are in Sao Paulo, please beware of Dr. Furbetta!  He has caused problems for many AOS applicants.

So, after that adventure, we took the corrected DS-3025 back to the field office, were again greeted warmly by security, and the IO made good on her promise and approved us on the spot.  We got the letter and the stamp, and our online status changed an hour later.  I can't say enough about how good this IO was to us.  She really went out of her way to help us.

Good luck to all those interviewing soon, and be sure to double check your DS-3025!!!!

    Hi all,

I received my interview notice yesterday!!!! (My NOA date was May 11th)

My case status on the app changed to “case is ready to be scheduled for an interview” 8 days ago. Still hasn’t been updated to reflect that I have an interview scheduled.

Still just says “fingerprint review complete” for my EAD and “case received” for my AP, but I guess I won’t be needing them if all goes well!

Fingers crossed for the rest of you!

I believe it does not have anything to do with the applicant's country of origin for EAD card production. I am from India and I applied on June 1st and my EAD got approved earlier this week.
So I believe you are in for good news pretty soon. Hang in there folks. All the best 👍
