DougNHawaii got a reaction from Hank_ in 2GO Text message....
Same thing with us.... got text saying it would be that day.... and nothing!
So fiancée went to office the next day..... and is seemed as though they never intended to deliver it....even though that is the option we had selected.
Just go and get it.... but in the event they do try and deliver it... make sure someone has a copy of the ID...back at the home place...lest they try and deliver...while you are trying to pick it up.

DougNHawaii reacted to Unlockable in Should we marry in Cambodia or return to USA and file k1 fiance visa ?
Don't know where you got the info in bold above from but you are wrong. A spousal visa is a much more superior visa to the fiance visa.
http://www.visajourney.com/content/compare
The K1 visa is taking almost as long as a spousal visa. But the difference is, when you fiance comes to the US on a K1 visa, she cannot work, leave the US, or sometimes even get a driver's license for months after her arrival. After you marry on a K1 visa she has to go through what is a called Adjustment of Status. It cost another $1200 and requires additional documents and evidence. She will also have to apply for work authorization and travel authorization. This process takes months which is why I mentioned her not being able to work or travel. With a spousal visa she can work or travel out of the US from the day she steps foot in America.
Now you see that there is even more beaurocracy involved with the fiancé visa than the spousal visa

why would you do a k1 if you didnt need to? a cr1 or dcf filing in your case would be far far better.
k1 and cr1 are taking really close to the same amount of time now (just a few months difference). im not as knowledgeable about dcf, but those are usually really quick, if i remember right.
also dont hire a lawyer or agency f you dont need to. it will cost you more money, gives more room for error (them inputting the incorrect info, not being as knowledgeable as you THINK they are, them being slow to file/respond to anything... it basically puts a middle man where there is none needed). the paperwork is not difficult if you read instructions, FOLLOW them, and ask any questions here.

DougNHawaii reacted to Greenbaum in Medical Exam Second Day How Long?
She can go early but not at the crack of dawn to finish her exam. If everything is fine Vaccines take less then an hour. She should have plenty of time to get to the airport to catch her flight.

DougNHawaii reacted to Greenbaum in k-1 visa appointment
On an approved application your NOA2 is good for one year with extensions throughout that year at 4 months at a time. I'd suggest calling USEM when your "expiration" of the NOA2 is near to have it extended. If all the stars line up, you can do the Medical on Monday and Tuesday, CFO on Wednesday and the interview on Friday. Then return home to wait for the visa to be delivered. Once delivered then return to any CFO location and have the certificate placed in the passport. Then off to the airport (you can even get the CFO certificate installed at NAIA) to fly out.

DougNHawaii reacted to Arkitekt-GS in Realistically...time between interview, and visa in hand?
For our CR-1 it was just under a week including a holiday.
6/7 interview
6/8 issued
6/11 or 12 was a holiday
6/13 visa in hand (picked up at 2Go makati as we lived in Makati)

DougNHawaii reacted to Kevo in Realistically...time between interview, and visa in hand?
8 calander days from date of interview until receiving the visa for us, in northern Luzon. But it had an error, so we had to send it back and wait again.

DougNHawaii got a reaction from IandM1123 in DS-160 Questions
Regarding....Mother's Full name.... The overall theme that everything follows...as I near the end of my visa journey is:
Name should be the one reflected on passports...and ID's... I have had to deal with this...as my Fiancee...has 4 names....making life difficult....hehhee.
Good Luck.

No.. I didn’t get any notification. First I regularly Check the CEAC status (Visa Status check) in ceac.state.gov then as soon as the status changed to ISSUED.. I regularly started to check 2go tracking..

DougNHawaii got a reaction from Hank_ in cfo
As others said...order doesn't matter.... but you can't get the official stamp until you have visa in hand.....which is well after the interview.
But you can arrange to pick it up at the airport....or back at the CFO office.... Just build in enough time to get it.... Cus they won't be getting on the plane....without it.

DougNHawaii reacted to Hank_ in DS-160 question...in a series of 'NO's'.....
Yes is correct for the vaccinations as she will have the DS-3025 after completing the medical.
-
DougNHawaii reacted to JB yang in CFO question....
Cfo wont give you the sticker if you dont have your visa yet they only give you the certificate so after you get your visa in hand you need to go back to the cfo to get the sticker.
-
DougNHawaii reacted to Arkitekt-GS in CFO question....
Your suspicion is correct. You can take the seminar and get the certificate whenever, but they won’t issue the passport sticker until the visa is in hand.
