AnnJacks reacted to geowrian in Does uscis notify the applicant if fraud was reported by someone about their petition?
If you have verifiable evidence (not just hearsay or even testimony, or circumstantial evidence) that a green card is being obtained via fraud, you can report it.
If the information is just suspicion and there isn't verifiable evidence to back it up, they aren't going to do anything.
If you intend to provide any false information or documents, you are setting yourself up for all kinds of problems.

You can travel while the K1 is processing, but you cannot enter on a K1 and leave without getting married before the 90 days - this would be abandonment of the case and you would need to re-apply, however with the record of abandoning a visa case on your history, it will likely affect other visas you attempt to receive, and may raise "fraud" red flags in the future.
To be perfectly clear:
Entering on a K1 visa without any intention of marrying is fraud.

If i would be you and my parents would be at their 80s, i would just forget about citizenship test. Was it too important to get a naturalization? Not my business, but really.. Why is it so necessary? If i ever will bring my parents here it will be only when i know, i will 100% ready to fully support them. Financially.

Begs the question why you put her through all this, I know somebody who has been here for 40 years as a LPR.

AnnJacks got a reaction from Zelixx in Poverty Guideline
Depends what self employed do:) Cant answer on your question. They will look at your previous tax return to determinate if you make enough. Its better when 3 years of tax return are above poverty level.
-
AnnJacks got a reaction from Zelixx in Poverty Guideline
Its depends if you are regular employee or self employed. For self employed person its the last year tax return ( line 22), for a regular its w-2, pay stubs and letter from employer. If i remember it correct.

AnnJacks reacted to TNJ17 in "Extreme hardship"
That’s not a valid reason. There are so many other ways of meeting up. Like others said meet in a third country, drive, take the train, there are an infinite ways of meeting up. You’re not required to meet in Venezuela, so the excuse that it’s a dangerous country is not gonna fly. Go somewhere else, go see a psychiatrist and get some anti anxiety pills. If you really love this person this shouldn’t be a problem. If you file and use a waiver I am willing you will 100% be denied and you will have wasted all that time (it will be 7-9 months from applying to denial) and money and you will have to wait even more time to be together. Also on a different note, if you’ve never met this person how can you even think about getting married. Get to know each other before getting married.

Please reconsider if drinking has a place in your life. More deportations happen due to lapses in judgment by people who can’t drink and stay in control. If this works out okay, consider it your one free pass. You can’t have another without establishing a pattern.

What a mess you created for your wife for no reason now she has to disclose this every time she files anything related to immigration.

AnnJacks reacted to geowrian in Pros and cons of filing AOS a little late?
It's based on the approval date of AOS, not when you file for AOS.
-
AnnJacks reacted to Moslund in Pros and cons of filing AOS a little late?
Pros - if you file 2 years after marriage you skip the ROC step and get the 10yr GC instead. Longer time to solidify your case if you dont have much from the get go. I filed for AOS a few years after my K1 expired. It never impacted my AOS approval... they never even questioned why I took so long to file my AOS
Cons - your out of status. Cant work or leave the country

AnnJacks reacted to mushroomspore in Trump proposal would make it harder for legal immigrants to gain citizenship (merged)
Honestly, a lot of articles on US immigration are badly written and poorly researched. As a writer myself, it offends me. There was an article about a man who was arrested by ICE at his mareuage-based GC interview. The article said the interview is the FIRST step of the process. Unimpressed!!

If those are the facts then you should have remained in Poland yet here you are...a migrant in the US. And I will vote for you if your birth certificate shows you were born in the US. Heard birth certificates are a big deal when running for president in the US.
