    Well, if it gets the same space/page/column size as the story of the foreign lass telling her estranged husband she's pregnant, and the subsequent beating he gave her, then yes, I can imagine.
    This stuff (cats and beatings of estranged foreign wives) just doesn't make page 1 headlines news, or even the first 20 minutes of a 30 minute video news program.

    -There are exceptions to this rule already spelled out, Children of ambassadors I think is one.
    - The Constitution is designed to be altered and I think clearly with ease of transportation what it is.... now is the time.
    -It seems the vast majority would favor a more commonsense redefining of this issue, why is there no steam behind getting it done?

    Well applying for a K-3 is a waste of time because its closed at the NVC.
    You had no intention of coming on the B2 and getting married and staying so... why would you not just apply to adjust your status? Your situation suits it.

    Once you have the green card you can go home close up your things there and bring your belongings back, but you have to wait for the green card! do not leave before you have it in your hand.

    I think it is interesting that no one has mentioned age as a factor. I am 40. Every minute is a tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick for us. We are not kids, nor even "young adults". If we are here, in the US together, the time to begin trying is NOW. But, we are not. Every cycle means the odds are much less. No woman in my family (that I know of) has ever been pregnant after 38.
    FYI-Statistic: A women at 30 has 50% of the same chance of pregnancy as a woman at 25.
    Every 5 years pretty much halves a woman's chances. At 45, the odds are low enough that if a couple wants a child by that point, they need to START with an infertility medical workup.
    For us, if he can't (for whatever reason) be here with me, then we will live together there. Would that suck? Maybe. Maybe not. Would it be completely worth it to turn my life upside down to go and be with him, of course. He is worth it. And he is absolutely willing to do that for me, so it is only fair that I offer the same, if need be. If we do have a child, that child is part of the package-deal.
    Anyone who assumes that the child would grow up without both parents is assuming that couples who are filing the K-1 don't actually have serious enough commitments to be together and it is very telling about the writer's own commitments to his/her future spouse.

    Um, actually the answer is no, because the child is merely the daughter of the USC and is not immigrating. She has nothing to do with his immigration.

    The advice I gave can apply to everyone across the board, regardless of their personal situations. The same advice is given by USCIS and also consulates. Telling people when they should or should not conceive in a relationship is different because, frankly, it's NOBODY'S BUSINESS- except that of the parties involved. The OP's post is one small step short of trolling, IMHO.

    Actually, I agree with you. You really are much too shallow to be the kind of parent that a child deserves. I also agree that a pregnancy shouldn't entitle anyone to special immigration privileges. But you've never had a child. Don't presume to understand what having a child means.
    I also am not aware of any restaurants that don't allow children (there probably are some but I never went to them anyways). I also wasn't aware that having a kid meant you couldn't go on vacation, spend time with your spouse, or even take off somewhere at the drop of a hat (all things that we do with a kid in tow). I suppose you're right about sleeping in but we have a little different concept of a weekend well spent. In short, I agree that you shouldn't bring a kid into a situation that is unstable because of immigration or finances or a number of other reasons. But 5 years? No, I'm not saying that you should have a kid. You're probably not ready. But your implication that people who get married and settle down and want to have kids on the honeymoon, or after 6 months or a year, are not properly spending time with their spouses is really quite strange.

    so only the rich should be allowed to be with the one they love???????????????????????????????? the amount of money a person earns means nothing once outgoings are taken in to account. someone earning 18000 but with no debt or outgoings might have more money in there pocket than someone earning 70000 who has a lot of debt and high outgoings.

    Threatening to withhold your immigration documents or interfere with your immigration status is recognized as a form of abuse by USCIS. It sounds like they are happy that he married a house girl for them and her simply doesn't care about you as much as he should.
    You need to decide if you want to remain in the US or return to the Philippines.
    If you want to return to the Philippines then get out of the house now. Go to a woman's shelter and they will help you contact the Philippine Consulate. The Consulate should be able to help you get back home. Once home you can file for Annulment.
    If you want to remain in the US still get out of the house now and go to a woman's shelter. They will help you file for divorce and get your life on track without him. Catholic Charities can even help you with the Removal of Conditions.
    YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMAIN IN A MARRIAGE THAT DOESN'T TREAT YOU LIKE A PERSON.

    Cereal companies have been advertising to young kids for decades now. Hell, when I was a kid, we actually got decent little toys in the box with the cereal.
    Our generation wasn't fat though as kids. Why? Parents told their kids to get outside and play. Parents didn't let McDonalds raise their children. Parents actually were RESPONSIBLE.
    You are seriously deluded if you think government needs to stop companies from advertising to certain markets. It's not the advertisers. It's the parents.

    He came up with 11 pm estimate because he knew you would not let him go if he gave you a realistic estimate of the time when he would come home. He is not a small child nor an aging man who can not handle the day at school/work after a sleepless night, so that's no excuse. He is not stealing alcohol like you did. Yes, pot comes with territory and you were right to stop it, but let me tell you... as soon as he moves out of your house he'll do it again. Not because of music and people he hangs out with, but because it is easy to get these days, all cool people do it and just as soon as he does not have to follow your rules, he won't. Why? Because enforcing rules does nothing for a kid that old. Grounding a 15 yo is not effective and will lead to anguish, nothing more.
    Late night practice comes with a territory when you play rock with older guys. You should have known it and you should have been realistic, you are the adult after all. Yet you still have to learn to treat your son as an adult, or you will not see adult behavior from him in a looong time. For now, you are teaching him that you can't be trusted (truth gets one grounded and desired things get forbidden) or respected (your behavior is not logical and/or consistent).

    I love this thread.
    If I remember right, in the Arab culture, the man is suppose to support the wife, and the wife's money is for her. So perhaps it would be in her best interest if she attempted to adapt to his culture.
    But as one stated, he is in America, and that he bears the burden of adapting to our culture. So that being said, since he is no longer employed does she come home from work to a clean house and dinner cooked? Is he doing laundry, shopping, yard work? Because in America we share not only the financial burdens, but work around the house. If one is not working outside of the home they should be doing the work in the home. So if he is not doing these things, then what exactly has he been contributing to the marriage, and in what way is he entitled to anything if he isn't? How long did he work as compared to how long has she worked? Is it right for a man that has worked for only a short time to take from a woman that has worked her entire adult life? Would it be right for her to have to start over?
    I am not saying the marriage was fraud, although we all know the statistics. What I am saying is that there are always two sides of the story, and it sounds as if the guy merely wants more than he actually deserves. I do get tired of hearing about human sponges, be it an immigrant or an American, that feel entitled.

    I am a father in my 30s so I can not answer the age related questions, other than to tell you that you will be sleep deprived as newborns eat about every 2 hours (24-7) for the first couple months.
    You have the cultural considerations regarding the pregnancy. There are many superstitions that some Chinese woman follow that could really have your head swimming. Depending on her family and education, she may strictly follow some of these thoughts. Find out about this now.
    Why have you already decided you need to have in-vitro? Have you had a sperm count performed and found the number is low? If not, you might be just fine to go the natural route.
    "I have frozen my sperm but someone told me that genetically damaged sperm swim faster than the good ones. Any experience in doing genetic testing?" Who told you this??? A doctor? You need to speak with your wife's OB/gyn and he/she will tell you about testing that is available for the baby in-utero and can also give advice regarding what steps you should take preconception (e.g. have her on prenatal vitamins for a few months beforehand).
    As a species, we have been having children for thousands of years, so don't sweat it too much. If you want a child, then have a child and enjoy the blessing. My only real concern would be to think about the future. Your age puts you at greater risk that this child may not have a father as his/her college graduation, BUT that could also happen to any of us regardless of age. Plan for the future, is my point. Good luck!

    Agreed: Everyone, PLEASE avoid quoting the entire original post in your replies.
    OP: As stated by others:
    1. File a report with Child Protective Services immediately.
    2. Take their written report to your police station.
    3. Take their written report(s) to ICE, in person, as Darnell recommended. Also -- and this wasn't suggested previously, that I saw -- report to ICE (with back-up in writing, if you have it) that the attorneys (and judge?) are influencing you to commit immigration fraud by suggesting (ordering?) your filing and paying for the ROC. You can bet your remaining dollars that you'll shoot to the top of the priority list -- first ICE's, and by extension the attorneys' and court's -- when you do this. To end the charade and much of your pain, you must do this.
    Performing the actions above should take care of your attorney problems.
    Remember that the Federal government has unlimited time and resources to make our lives miserable. You have the rare opportunity to turn this to your advantage. Do the above immediately, and stand back and watch how quickly and completely matters swing in your favor.
