No I-130 = no green card or immigrant visa.
Presumably you will get a receipt for the I-864 specifically later. They're slow.
You will not get anything about the I-485 as that is not your application.

As far as I recall, last year when I asked for an appointment over a call they just referred me to the online scheduler (which never showed new appointment slots, even immediately after midnight), and I think I also tried earlier this year but they just confirmed that none of the offices for my zip are accepting appointments, but I guess I’ll try again noting the urgency.

It should but USCIS makes mistakes. I can testify to that. Better safe than sorry. Should just be a little longer anyhow.

I won’t invest anymore. If she wants to reapply for a gc she’ll need another sponsor and someone else to pay the fees.
Yeah, no confirmation from USCIS yet but I called in recently and they said letters take about 60d for a reply so about another month.

cmh got a reaction from Celie in Longer/indefinite time to edit posts
I was going to edit a post I made slightly over 10 minutes ago and noticed the edit option already disappeared. The time limit to edit posts should be extended or removed as there are many good reasons for editing a post beyond a few minutes and as there is already an “edited” timestamp that makes it clear to others if or when a post was last edited. Thanks.

Invision Community has had an edit history feature for years now so this could be enabled and used to address the issue you raised.

cmh got a reaction from AnJay in Wife thinking of applying for weekly unemployment insurance benefits while GC/AOS pending
My wife who I am sponsoring is thinking of applying for weekly unemployment insurance benefits after I mentioned it to her. Then someone, who is not an expert on this subject, gave me some reasons she may want to rethink this if the GC/AOS are still pending. I can support her myself but just thought she’d like a little extra cash on the side. Would her applying for [and/or being accepted for] unemployment benefits come back to bite either of us while the GC and AOS are pending? Would my AOS responsibilities be greater? Would it be viewed unfavorably in the interview or by those reviewing our case?

When you file concurrently you need to write two checks, one for the i-130 and one for the i-485 and biometrics.
If you file for i-485 (and i-131 and i-765) you can send one single check. Those of us who arrived on a K-1 do this, for example.
But when you also file for i-130 that one needs a separate check.
