Finally received my green card today and it’s actually green! Just in time to be a nice Christmas present! We’re moving to Texas at the end of January and I’m planning to start looking for a job in that area. Good luck to everyone who are still waiting. Hang in there!

Finally a status change tonight at 8pm “new card is being produced”! It’s been a looooong week! An awesome Christmas present will hopefully arrive in the mail soon. This process has been so tiring and frustrating. Good luck to everyone starting now. It took me 1 and a half years from my first application to Green Card.

So had our interview today in Chicago. It was extremely quick and not a lot of questions were asked. Barely had to submit any additional documents. It’s now under review, pending the last background check. The lady said that if she has time she’ll check and approve it today, but nothing yet. 
 
So tired of waiting. @SLV123 did Mike receive his card yet?

Glad to hear all went well I am sure it will be issued soon! the waiting can kill a person

Just an update.
 
Port of Entry 5th October 2018 after a long-awaited journey with the K 1 process and Embassy in JHB. Filed for Green card on the 30th December 2018, Biometric appointment 29th January 2019, Green card appointment 16th May 2019, Green card in hand on 22nd May 2019. Green card appointment went smooth and less stressful than the actual K 1 visa appointment. Green card's only valid for 2 years now, we can file for removal of conditions 90 days prior expiry and then file for citizenship. 
 
Stay strong guys! Almost there. It's very expensive so save up for that green card if you want to push through till the end.

You can get photos at Postnet at the mall. Ask for American visa photos. They should be open Saturday and Sunday 

You don’t need to make arrangements for her to go in with you. If they call your name for the interview at the second window, I would suggest that you go up to it on your own (it is your interview after all) and you can mention to the interviewer that she’s here and he/she will then tell you if you should ask her over. 
 
As for the visits, there is no right or wrong. Your job is to prove that the relationship is legitimate with your evidence and answers during the interview.

Also notice that not all SSA office staff is well documented to provide a SSN (without authorization to work) to K1 holders. And they might as well tell you, that you can't get one until EAD. That is not to say, you can't go and find out, however.

Hi, please can you clarify on the SSN? The information that I have read said that you cannot get a SSN if you do not have EAD. As I understand, you get married first and then file for AOS, EAD, SSN as well as advance parole. Please help me if this is incorrect. 

That is not true. My wife has SSN and no EAD or GC yet. It took us 5 weeks, we applied 2nd business day after PoE (before marriage) it didn't come in the mail until about 5 week later. Immediately after we used it to get State ID. This is in CA.

Thank you for the responses... I must say, there is a lot of conflicting information going around. This is new to me. I appreciate your feedback. I will most definitely apply for SSN immediately.

We were married today!  Now the process starts for Adjustment of Status!!!  Good luck to all who are getting ready for your interviews, everything will go well!!  

We had the interview yesterday, and DHL just sent a message that the visa is available for pick up. I'm blown away by the one business day turnaround!
