Yes. Just sign your name and date it on one of the available lines. This is what i did and it was accepted.
As far as your foreign spouse signing the I-130A, I feel like that's a tossup. I had my husband sign it while I was in Morocco and even though the instructions state IF the foreign spouse is not in America, it doesn't need to be signed, I've still seen instances of people getting RFEs for the spouse not signing.

Sending an update...my fiancé from Egypt did get a DS-5535 and after 60 days in AP I contacted my senator even though everyone said it wouldn’t help. My senator contacted the embassy, received a response back the same week, then two weeks later the embassy called my fiancé and told him the visa would be issued this month (May). The website updated and is no longer in AP and he’ll have it in a week.
Don’t lose hope! Praying for peace to you 🙏🏼
Glad to hear that. Just goes to show the negative Nellies, bitter bettys, and Debbie downers on this site are not always correct like they think they are. Congrats and I hope your fiancé gets his visa soon!

What's the normal way for the beneficiary to schedule the medical ? After the interview is scheduled (in which case the timeline is tight) or after the petition is filed? (Could be months). How long is the medical valid ?
You find the list of panel physicians authorized to do the exam for that consulate/embassy and call and make an appointment with them. You can only schedule an appointment once you have gotten an interview date. The medical exam report is valid for 6 months.

Before this process, I didn't know jack diddly squat about immigration. However, there is plenty of info on VJ and the internet in general about how to navigate through this process and with these resources I managed to successfully file the I-130, have it approved, get through the NVC stage and get my husband's interview, in which he was just approved for his visa last week (entire process took exactly 364 days from start to finish).
As others have said if you have a simple case with no criminal legal matters involved, you can do it yourself. Save the money. This process is already expensive enough without paying unnecessary fees for lawyers or visa services who can't speed up the process in anyway.
Good luck on your visa journey!

Won't be too long now. By next week you will probably see issued.
I just dropped my passport today. The letter basically said only 1 line "Drop your passport at one of our 11 drop off locations." I'm just wondering if they actually approved/denied me or they want me to get more panic attacks. 😂
Inshallah. I hope you're right
I hope you get your visa soon also.

CEAC status finally changed to "Administrative Processing" after being on "Ready" for 3 days... Wonder how long it'll take before we see "Issued"

All the Visa is for entry. Everyone gets 6 months from the day of the medical to enter the US. Visa are voided upon arrival
He is a CR1 which means upon arrival and through processing he is a green card holder. They will give him a 551 stamp in passport which is his temporary green card.
Usually green card arrives 45 days or less after arrival. You cab pay the $220 fee before he leaves his country or after he arrives in US. That fee is what actually produces the physical green card.Do you know if paying the fee asap speeds up production and issuance of the green card? Or would it not actually be made until he arrives in US? I was wondering if it made sense to pay the green card fee now even though CEAC hasn't showed the visa has been issued yet. My husband wants to start looking for work immediately and he's worried he'll have to wait around for 45 days before he can start.

When was your husband's interview? And when did he receive the visa? Your timeline is not filled in. It would really help others.

Hi everyone!
so my husband had his interview at Islamabad embassy 4/9/19, interview went good wasn’t asked too many questions everything was pretty straight forward they wanted to see our pics, and asked how we talk and how often and kept his passport, medical, and passport sized pics. Told him at the end everything is looking good and gave him a paper to register for courier service they did say you will receive an email and that’s it, 24 hours later we received questionnaire email and filled out and sent back. Everyday from that point our case update date changed daily and I emailed end of April and they had said we received your questionnaire and your case is in administrative processing which in a crucial part before issue visa, my case only updates when I send an inquiry and I’m wanting to know others experiences and feedback! Anything will definitely help.
It sounds like he received the DS-5535 form. There's no way to tell how long it will take to process this form. Some people have been waiting since 2017. Here is a thread about it.

Does the time frame depend on the country the beneficiary is from and also if you get he assistance of an attorney ?
Yes and yes. However a lawyer does not speed up the process at all and there have been many instances where lawyers have actually held up the process by making mistakes or giving their client inaccurate info about the immigration process.

Congrats! I hope my husband's is the same way. I know his interview was only yesterday but it's still saying "Ready".. I guess that's normal apparently if yours was saying that for one week. Are you picking up your visa or having it delivered?

I just sent a very brief email saying that I had been told at the interview that I would receive my visa within 7 days, so I am just checking in to ensure nothing further is required from me at this time.
I didn’t actually receive a response, but later that day, it changed. Sometimes they need a gentle prompt
Mmm I see. Thank you. My husband doesn't want to send an email because he's worried he'll look to eager for the visa so I decided to just leave it alone for now. Hopefully the status changes soon....

After my interview, my status was “AP” for a week, and then I sent an email to inquire (bc I was approved without needing to provide anything else), and it changed to “issued”.
It CAN take days, weeks, months, or longer, but it seems like if it was just tax documents, you should be on the shorter end. Give them a week or two, and if nothing changes, follow up with an email.
Hopefully it’s not too long of a wait for you.
Hmmm my husband's interview was yesterday and his status is still saying "Ready"... I wonder if it would make any difference to send an email like you did. I'm worried it'll be stuck like this for a long time. Would you mind sharing what you said in your inquiry email?

My husband's visa was approved today and I'm worried because the status still says "Ready". I thought it would've changed to "Administrative Processing" a few hours after his interview. I'm just paranoid I guess.

Does he have a power of attorney to handle his affairs?

Hi everyone, my husband had his interview this morning and he was approved! Thank God! He was asked the following:
How many times did your wife visit you in Morocco?
What are the dates of her visits?
What is her date of birth?
Is your wife sponsoring you?
What does your wife do for a living ?
What's the name of the company she works for?
What is the company address? (He admitted he did not know the answer to this and I suspect she just wanted to make sure he wouldn't make something up)
She asked where I was and he told her "She is outside waiting with my father, I have her passport here" and she told him "No need, your visa is approved"😛.
Out of all the documents my husband had with him, the only thing she wanted to see was the police certificate, court record, his birth certificate and our marriage certificate.
He also observed a bit while inside the consulate so here's what he told me;
-A lot of people around him were being denied
-He noticed they either did not provide enough relationship evidence, they were caught flat out lying to the CO, or they could not speak English well.
-He witnessed one K1 approval
So there's that. She told him it would take a week or more for the visa and she kept his passport. I've been in Morocco much longer than I anticipated and so I need to get back right away. Hopefully he gets his visa quickly so we can return home together.
Thank you so much to the helpful members here at Visa Journey. I can't believe we did it on our own without the " help" of lawyers. This site definitely provided invaluable help on this journey. Good luck to all who are waiting, your time is coming soon. Thank you again and sorry this is so long.

Ok so we tried this also, but then the file was too big after we scanned. They require 2 MB and this ended up like 13 MB. When i compress the file, it becomes unreadable. I also scanned low resolution, no luck. How did u manage to upload urs? Thanks!
Hmmm...that's strange. I used the I-864EZ which is a few pages less than the regular I-864. So I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it or not...hopefully someone else can chime in who's run into a similar issue.

Yes and yes if you are able to have her sign it somehow then try. If not then I would advise you attach something to it stating she is overseas along with USCIS instructions with the sentence highlighted that the foreign spouse signature is not required. Just to remind them of their own rules in case they attempt to send you an RFE for this later.
