I'm hearing a lot of people are getting blue slip on their first try so you guys just be prepared to gather all that info together just in case. It was a pain in the ### gathering all that info. i'll go grab the info from the blue slip and brb.
They asked for info
about an ex spouses
proof of purchase of airplane tickets
more relationship evidence
list of beneficiary's relatives in the US
full list of petitioner's relatives
relationship timeline

Did they require the information "list of her relatives in the US, relationship timeline, family info" to be in a sworn and notarized statement? Thank you!
no, but I got everything notarized anyway just to be safe

Hi,
I am wondering for what reasons your wife did not get approved for the first try? What docs did they request to provide? How long after the interview did your wife get passport with visa mailed? Thank you
I think she didn't get approved because of the recent marriage fraud bust that happened in May in Houston. Something like 100 Vietnamese people got arrested for marriage fraud.
They asked for info
about an ex spouses
proof of purchase of airplane tickets
more relationship evidence
list of beneficiary's relatives in the US
full list of petitioner's relatives
relationship timeline
and it took like 2 weeks for her to get her Passport back after the interview

Congrats...Did they call her back for second interview or by mail or email? Did they ask same questions or what different this time?
it really wasn't an interview. it was just an appointment that we had to make to so we could go turn in additional evidence.

Just wanted to let you guys know that my wife just went to her second interview and we were Approved. We did it! It was a long journey but it's almost done. Thanks to everyone for your support and advice, I appreciate so much. For anyone whose petition gets sent to Nebraska, hang in there. Once your petition gets approved, everything moves rather quickly so just hang in there.

When I went to my fiance's interview on Tuesday, I was the only US citizen there with their fiance/spouse for the interview. From what I saw, all the interviews were short (5 - 10 minutes). It looked like a lot of people got blue slips, including one woman who was there for a CR1 interview that my fiancee was chatting with in the line for the biometrics.
Did you get approved?

I just looked up the Texas fraud indictments and yikes. That can't be good for people trying to get a Visa. Are you from Texas by any chance? Did you not spend much time with her prior to getting married? Sorry to hear about your situation!
I am from Louisiana. Everybody in the Vietnamese community knows about what happened in Houston and it’s said that the good has to suffer for the bad.

Yeah guys, I’m just worried if they don’t accept the documents this time, we will be put in AP for a long time. I didn’t even think about side loading any of that stuff. I wish I would have done it now. Only red flags I can think of is maybe she apply for a tourist visa and was denied. And also, after I met her in Vietnam, I never went back to visit her before we got married. It was about a year.

So my wife recently had her interview at HCMC. Unfortunately, she received a 221-G (blue slip). The CO asked her a few questions, handed her a blue slip and sent her on her way. The CO never ask for any additional evidence during the interview which confuses the hell out of me. It's like they already knew she was getting the blue slip. It was the generic blue slip asking for ex info, list of her relatives in the US, relationship timeline, family info, credit card statement for airline ticket purchase. Now my question to you guys is, have any of you guys ever received a blue slip for this additional evidence. if yes, after turning in the additional evidence, did you get approval for your visa? I just feel like the recent immigration fraud arrests happening in Houston had something to do with our refusal.

How long is it taking now for F4 category to get an interview date at HCMC?

No, they won't ask for it. US passport/ Naturalization Cert is good enough. This applies for K1/CR-1 (yes, I filed both 😕 and got visa approved for both).
Ok, thanks VNN

Does anyone know for sure if they do or don't ask for petitioner's birth certificate at interview? anyone?!?

so is "Case Complete" when NVC accepts your documents or after NVC schedules your interview, then it's CC? My documents were accepted at NVC and I got an email that said "now, NVC will work with your embassy to get your interview schedule." so how long til NVC schedules an interview for us?
-
Finally received Case complete from NVC. Took 2 weeks. Now to wait for an interview date. Everything has sped up since getting NOA2. I'm estimating an interview date in June hopefully.

My spouse was inerviewed last September and was approved.
It has been 4 weeks since she arrived but Green Card and SSN have not been issued yet.
What kind of questions did they ask her?

you have to show that you have a lot of money in your bank in order to get a Tourist visa. you have to show them that you have a reason to come back to the Philippines
-
Woohoo! We received our case and invoice # from NVC faster than I expected. Feels like things are moving along nicely now since our approval on 1/26. I've already summited payment for AOS and IV, now just waiting for them to go through so we can start summiting documents. I feel like our interview will be here soon enough. For those still waiting, hang in there. You'll get there. Thanks to everyone for the support along the way.

Wife received a blue slip at interview
in Vietnam

This is only if they don't approve her Visa the first time but yeah, they ask for all kinds of evidence. The airplane tickets they want are the ones that you go to visit her. Make sure every ticket that you buy, keep the actual ticket stub and print out the credit card statement that you bought it with. As far as my relatives, I did my grandparents, parents, siblings, aunts and uncles. As far as going to interview, it's up to you. I didn't go because I wanted to go escort my wife to America because I didn't want her to travel by herself so I didn't go to any of her interviews.
