From that link onward is for everyone. Everything prior is for the Philippines. So you can follow the information and you will find that it helps once you arrive in the USA.

Here is a website that walks you through the steps. Start at the tab I send you to and work your way down the menu on that tab and then when you ready for the next step move to the next tab and work your way down it. Simple. http://dennyeyberg.wixsite.com/filipino-am-visa/overview-of-whats-next

Each Embassy is different. Most are 1-2 weeks. Try asking in the subforum for Australia. Go up to the blue ribbon select forms, then scroll 3/4 off the page down to sub forums. Select your country or region.

Case has been at NVC since June 21 and no movement (18 days today).  Makes me want to start emailing my documents to them and the embassy just so that someone can tell me something.  Ive seen other cases move faster and I know that all cases are different, but Im hating this wait again.

The wait time in Los Angeles county to have your marriage registered is 2 months, we waited for 4 weeks so we were lucky. However, some people say that it's fine to file for AOS with the "customer copy" you receive right after the ceremony (do you get those in your state too by any chance?), even though the marriage hasn't even been registered yet. We didn't want to take a chance so we waited for the certified copy in the mail, and then took a PHOTO COPY of it that we sent with my AOS package.

A certified copy here costs $15, I wouldn't send that when a simple photo copy of the certified copy is all that is required.

Either the petitioner or the beneficiary can call NVC for your case number.

First, don't begin calling for 10 business days after you get your text message (NOA2). Second, you will need the Petitioner's and Beneficiaries full name and date of birth.

Call 603-334-0700 or 603-334-0888 Be prepared for a wait. Tell the operator that you are requesting a case number for your K-1. They will ask for the receipt number located on the left top of your I-797 (NOA2) form. Then he/she will either tell you that they have not received your case or you will be asked for the names and date of birth. If they don't have the case, you will be told it can take 30 to 45 days for them to receive it and to wait however many days/weeks and call back. That's a pad answer so ignore it. You can call back the next day or as often as you want. NVC's hours are 7am to 12 am (midnight) eastern time. Monday through Friday except Federal Holidays. Calling early at 7 am on the dot will get you in the fastest or calling late the lines to be open most often.

When you have your case number, enter it here https://ceac.state.g...ker/status.aspx and it will tell you one of three things... At NVC, In Transit, or Ready.

Happy Days!!! As expected and hoped for we received our NVC Case# and Invoice ID today! I also gave the lady on the phone my beneficiaries email address. 18 days from NOA2 to NVC#! Time for us to submit the DS-160 and print two copies, pay the fee, schedule the interview and print 3 copies, schedule the CFO and medical. Praying everyone here receives their NVC# soon.

For the interview you will not need the NVC letter nor for any other steps. The NOA2 is critical because you will use it for the WAC# now when you go to submit the DS-160 and you will need it for the AOS once you arrive and marry in the US.

The approval in the form of an email will go to the petitioner. More information on the process for the Philippines is here. If you use it and complete everything you will have a smooth process for your interview and the approval.
Use the website I just gave you and you will not be confused nor will you miss anything that you will need. http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

I believe once you have your NVC # you're able to check the status of your visa online somewhere, and you can still fill out forms and get things done with the number even if the embassy hasn't received it. Once the status of your case says it's arrived at the embassy then you'd be able to schedule the interview, medical, etc.

OMG.......I called NVC just now and the sweet lady told me they received our paperwork today but we still don't have the NVC number yet. We should most likely get the number tomorrow. So it took 17 days from NOA2 to NVC received. We are celebrating tonight!!!

my fiance called the NVC yesterday and this is the result

Quote: alright i talked to the nvs and he said it's going to take some time. they don't even have us in their database yet. he said up to 6 weeks. and then it will take up to 8 weeks before they'll have a new case file # Unquote

If this really takes thaaat long, how can they issue NOA2 with a validity of 4 month only? So it could be that we have to extend it?

Yeah my fiancee has a birthday  late August so she's hoping she will make it here by then. We are planning a October wedding so if you need help with airline tickets I might be able to help with that. Are you flying together to your POE? I''ll  be meeting my fiancee in LAX and the  driving back to Vegas where I'm from.

Long winded but I cut and pasted from something I posted elsewhere:

    You call them.
It can take 2-8 weeks to get from CSC to the NVC but you can start calling at Day 14. Either the petitioner or beneficiary can call. Doesn't matter who.
603-334-0700. 1 for English and then choose 2.
They will ask for your WAC# and the petitioner's name and date of birth and the beneficiary's name and date of birth. Once they have your file it may take many more weeks to get the NVC# (They will tell you up to 8 weeks).
You can then give NVC the beneficiary's email address as now all important instructions will be sent to them. They may still snail mail your beneficiary rather than email so be patient.
Once you have the NVC# you can track your petition on the CEAC website from the NVC to your embassy. It will say "At NVC" when they are still processing it there, "In Transit" when it's on its way to the embassy and "Ready" when it has arrived at the embassy. Depending on your embassy, once it reaches "Ready" status you may be able to send them Packet 3 or you may be required to wait until they send you P3 instructions.
