It's a letter from family members that state who they are, what their relationship is to you two, and that they confirm you're married and seem happy. They need to add a copy of their driver's license. We had them from my parents in Belgium (with copy of their ID), from his parents, and his uncle as my husband is close to him.

They just state simple things, like "I am X's mother. X and Y often come by for a cup of coffee. They seem happy together.". Something like that but in their own words.

He didn't really read them , but added them to the file.

They're not necessary, but I got them anyway.

    Thank you 😊

I had my greencard interview today in the Atlanta Field Office. The officer's name was Swift. He was very nice and correct. He went over my application first asking basic questions (where we live, where I lived before, ...) And making sure the info was correct. Then he asked the questions about terrorism etc. Then he asked for some proof. We had tons of proof, so I asked which things he'd prefer to see. I gave him bills, joint accounts, affidavits from family, rental agreement. I had more, like pics etc but I think he got the gist.

He went through a few more things and then said I was approved. I think he was one of the toptier officers as he was able to make that decision on the spot? Not sure.

He was friendly, and we didn't really get any questions. He did ask my husband when he came to me (twice), but nothing much more.

I was stressed out because one officer gets to decide over your future, but in the end, it was not weird, nor did we get the impression he was out to get anyone. I think his experience normally points him towards possible trouble and we weren't a blip on his intuitive radar.

After we were approved, he went over the AP/EAD card (that it's no longer valid now, as I was approved for the greencard), where my greencard would be sent (our home address), how long it would take (four to six weeks), what "conditional" meant, how to apply to remove those conditions, and how and when to become a US citizen.

We had a very positive experience.

The only thing that was risky, was that I did not have an updated medical, but he clearly knew I didn't need this, although he did ask if I had an updated one or not (I didn't). It wasn't a problem.

    Congrats!!

    What is affidavit from family?

Hi everyone the checklist for AOS on VJ guides is current right? I’ll be applying for AOS by the end of this month.  If this is not current can someone pls send me over a link?

For the medical part of AOS I’m assuming that’s part of the package we cannot open until port of entry?  And when I was researching I saw someone had included a criminal record check.

Do we have to request for another criminal record check for this pkg? Or do they return all that to us in the pkg they open at port of entry?

How long did everyone wait after their wedding to file for AOS?

Hi, I filed AOS 3 weeks after our wedding, because I want to be sure that all tha papers in my packet are correct, I did a lot of researching.

I have the Vaccination Record, That’s the one that I include in the packet. When u give your Yellow packet in the POE they will never give back any single paper that’s in it.

  4. Hi everyone! It’s good to be back , I see familiar names here like @Naes and @Daniel P from October 2017 Filers 😊😊 Now I’m back with this AOS and EAD thing 🤗

    Sent the Packet:                                Sept. 7

    NOA1(both AOS & EAD)              Sept.13

    Biometrics (Orlando):                       Oct. 5

    ...Now waiting for NOA2 & the Interview😊

Congrats @Buhr @ThomasNC1988 @Oldrae !!! :jest::D Nice to see people starting to receive their visas so they can finally be with their better halves.

I'm literally counting down the weeks till I can hopefully say the same as you guys. My medical is booked for the 24th July, and I'm waiting to receive some paperwork from my finance so that I can book my interview. This process is stressful but I know it will be worth it.

Your's will come very soon 😉😉

Has anyone gone through the CRBA procedure and getting US passport for a baby? Is the DNA test 100% required? The US parent name will be listed on the birth certificate issued in my home country.

Hi, yes I've gone through that procedure for my 1 year old daughter. The result of the DNA test is not really 100%, but it's 99.9999999. We had a DNA, both parents and the applicant (baby). The father is the USC and I the mother (Filipina).

well they said it’s okay to do that. I was planning to do the medical too coz i think its much safer that way but on the other side, the earliest available date for interviews will continue to move so if you are looking for the earliest date then maybe you should book interview appointment too. If not then you should relax 😊, based on everything ive read here you are still on track.

i got you confused too 😅 im sorry if i worry you about that.

Hi, where to track my papers from NVC to Us embassy manila?
