Thank you for the reply. As I said I'm sure I'm being paranoid but I did my due diligence in trying to find a source or site explaining the proposal in a clear and direct manner (from fox news to Washpo and everywhere in between) and nothing was explicit. And I did see it mention siblings and parents and children and spouses for Green Card Holders but nothing explicit about USC immediate family.

THIS WILL NOT AFFECT IMMEDIATE FAMILY IMMIGRATION AT ALL. STOP BELIEVING THE HYPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All this is is hype and clickbait drivers for these website. If you actually read what was proposed and what has been talked about for a while now. Then you would see that it doesn't affect petitions for spouses or children but it would affect petitions for siblings or parents.

    hi

both, one of your parents will be your joint sponsor and will fill out the i864 as your joint sponsor, the other parent fills out the i864A as his or her household member

you will fill out the i864 as the primary sponsor

I'm American who spent all but the last 3 years of his life in the USA so the kid will be American. But yes, it will not be eligible for Singaporean citizenship. Only question would be if it is eligible for president. That is the Ted Cruz question as he ran but was born in Canada and got his citizenship through his American mother.

My bad? We have been trying for a kid for almost a year. This isn't a scheme to cut the system. However, I am curious to know if someone has been in this situation and tried DCF as USCIS itself claims that pregnancy MAY be a possible reason for exceptional circumstance.

Pregnancy in itself is not a reason to expedite. DCF in exceptional circumstances is possible. However, what is the exceptional circumstance here? A pregnancy may be exceptional to you as an individual (congrats!), but is not so for immigration purposes. An expedite due to pregnancy may be possibly if there are considerable medical complications or risks due to the pregnancy...just like any medical expedite. I have heard some embassies may let you inside or to the front of a line if you are visibly pregnant, so at least thta's something?

I didn't know Singapore offers DCF. But it is true that there is no expedite for pregnancies unless there are exceptional complications.

The link only mentions delay of travel. As the spousal visa takes longer than a year she would have had her baby long after she is due to travel. So unless the baby has something wrong with it that only someone in America can fix, I highly doubt you can get expedited. If people could get expedited for a complication free pregnancy, lots of couples would get pregnant.

You can use a G-1450 form and  add it on top of your application. It is for credit card authorizations. It can be only used for submissions to the Lockbox (not field offices). I confirmed with my embassy in Singapore that I can use this and that is what I intend to use when I submit my package tomorrow.

I will just tell you, I wrote 'N/A' for questions that don't apply, or simply drew a line across the box if I had none of what was asked for. I didn't get an RFE.

I did a K1, but I think the short story/summation I wrote and included with our I-129F application was helpful, especially as an up-front opportunity to explain the peculiar circumstances around how we met, what we have in common, etc. to paint a picture of how our relationship is genuine. I would recommend it.

An evolution of relationship letter is a nice touch but really not necessary for people already living together abroad.

Also understand that just because an answer is "NONE" does not mean the question is not applicable.  "No Middle Name" is what you type when there is no middle name because the word NONE actually is a name in more than one language.

Second, once you've answered "NONE" to say the family name of a former spouse, (for example) indicating there are no former spouses, all other questions about former spouse or spouses are rendered not applicable and can simply be left blank.  The new forms don't allow some spaces to be filled out at all once certain boxes are checked.  USCIS just hasn't bothered to conform their instructions to the updated versions of the forms that actually don't allow those instructions to be followed.  Use common sense.

EastMeetsWest2018 reacted to Gringuitico in Affidavit of ongoing marriage as evidence
If it were me (and bear in mind, my experience simply comes from having done this once, and my i-130 application was just approved)... I would not explicitly draw attention to your lack of co-mingled finances.  I would focus on the positive evidence you have in the application.  Your lease documents and insurance documents sound like the most potent forms of evidence.  The collage and story is also vital, in my opinion.

I'm going to differ from other (more experienced) folk here and suggest that you still include one or two sworn statements from friends that attest to your long, storied, and on-going  relationship.  I accept that such things, independently, are not super powerful as evidence, compared to legal and financial documents.  That said, I've also been told by immigration lawyers that the VARIETY of types of evidence is a factor in your favor.  Also, the burden of generating such letters is small, so I say it has a high benefit to cost ratio, and I'd rather err on the side of overwhelming evidence (my packet for my wife was around 180 pages, including all of our passport pages, blanks included).

As a side note, I don't know about your friends or family, but it's been my experience that close friends LOVE having the opportunity to support you all in your process.  Most friends can't do anything to help, and they may actually really appreciate the opportunity to make a difference, small though it might be.

EastMeetsWest2018 reacted to geowrian in Affidavit of ongoing marriage as evidence
Affidavits provide very little to no benefit in themselves. However, if they provide detailed accounts of specific circumstances to back up other evidence, they can be helpful. For instance, "X is a great person and they are such a great couple and I have known them for X years." is basically useless. The CO cannot determine the validity of those types of statements. However, "X, Y, and myself went on a trip to xyz on mm/dd/yyyy where we all enjoyed seeing Z, Z, and adventuring up ZZZ mountain together." That combined with photos of the group and receipts and such at those events provides a better view of the relationship IMO. It's no longer just somebody's word about their character or the relationship, but about the interactions and time spent together.

EastMeetsWest2018 reacted to ms_bobdog in Affidavit of ongoing marriage as evidence
When we submitted our i130, we didn't even send in any photos of us together, neither did I send in any passport stamps to show that I had visited him many times before we got married (I didn't know about front loading. I didn't know of this forum at that point!). I did send in evidence that he is the nominee to receive my CPF monies, and he's also nominated as the beneficiary of my endowment plans in Singapore. Notarised affidavits are actually not helpful at all. I think your leases, CPF and life insurance forms are good. If you want, you can send the photos as well. Having lived together already gives you an edge

EastMeetsWest2018 reacted to JFH in Affidavit of ongoing marriage as evidence
If you have been living together for 3 years you already have the gold medal in evidence. That will outweigh absolutely everything. Affidavits are the least valuable form of evidence and only useful for couples who struggle with evidence of time spent together for financial or religious/cultural reasons.

Remember that the forms are multi-purpose. The same form is used by every couple and many of us have never lived together prior to immigrating so we have to be creative and look for other ways to convince a stranger that we are a genuine married couple even though we have never lived together before.

Focus on evidence of living together (lease/mortgage, utility bills in both names, car ownership documents, bank statements, etc) and you'll be absolutely fine.
