That is their system. Kinda bad.
You can track your status on the two websites you might be familiar with already. If you want to hear it from the robot after a try it will offer a menu option to report that something wrong with your case and then after waiting some time for a human being they will tell your case status. I assume using the website....
I had the same stuff, but once the interview was scheduled the webpage updated (didn't check the phone) and didn't miss any notifications.

Yes, it is - that's the whole reason you have it! You might have to go through some secondary processing at the border, and I would bring some evidence that you have an ongoing AoS, but it should be fine.

My Field office is also Seattle. I’ve been waiting over 180 days for my interview to be scheduled. This is absolutely ridiculous.

OK thanks I will search that.

OK thanks for the information.  We won't be able to have joint tax returns as we only got married in November 2018 and our interview is in February 2019.  I never even get all my stuff to do taxes until usually around the first week of March so I hope that won't be an issue as its impossible.  I have her added on one of checking accounts, but it is with her maiden name not married name.  They refused to change it until she has a green card, despite showing them the marriage license and certificate.   I added her as an authorized user on my credit card, but it still only shows me on the statements.  The reason being is because they told me they don't do joint credit cards only a authorized user to use my card only.  I did add her as a beneficiary to my retirement account, but not sure how I prove that she is listed. I contacted my 401K company for a confirmation document, but they have yet to respond. My wife doesn't have life insurance yet and mine is through where I work so I am not sure how to add her?  I know what they are looking for we are just having a difficult time gathering this evidence and in a timely matter.  We thought we had a year before the interview and now we have a matter of a few weeks at most.  Thanks for your help and information, very much appreciated.

So my wife and I have our AOS interview coming up.  We are trying to gather some of the evidence needed for our interview.  However, we have a slight problem gathering some  of it as we do not have it.  My wife and I are living with my parents right now as we are still trying to buy a house.  We do not have any utility bills, internet bills, tv bills, water bills, rent, etc., since we are living with them.  We also do not have any cell phone bills either since we are on my parents account.  Any idea what I am suppose to do since we do not have any of those things?  Do you think just informing the person interview us of our situation will be good enough?  Thanks.

    Hey everyone!
We had our AOS interview yesterday in Portland, OR and were approved! I'm so happy that we're taking a break from visa things for the next 20+ months. He didn't take any additional documentation off me or photographs but I was glad to have taken my folder with me just in case. He didn't ask as many questions as I thought he would, just some of the ones on the I-485 and then about our plans for the future. Should get my green card in 3 weeks! I'm really glad because I have AP but no EAD so I can't wait to get to work!

Good luck to everyone remaining! Hopefully won't be much longer.

check the "processing times" tab in VJ on the top. then go to adjusment of status section on the very bottom and get where the local FO section. That is more accurate than the USCIS website i think.

4 couples lately for Montgomery FO had and will have interviews....it is in order by when the VJ member filed for AOS. This is not 100% accurate, but very close to reality

I'm in Seattle and notice for the interview last month. The interview is next Wednesday!

I've been looking around it and seems that people get their GC in a couple of weeks? I hope so because we had a trip planned back to Japan on the 13th of February and if the GC comes when we're abroad I was told by my lawyer that my Husband wouldn't be able to reenter the country with his AP combo card.

Hello Everyone! I filed my AOS on june 14. I got the combo card on the last week of october. On friday the I485 status changed to interview scheduled on Jan 4th. I am hoping to get the interview letter this week. Could you please let me know how long after the notice the interview is usually scheduled? What basic questions do they ask? And what documents do we need to bring to the interview? Thank you for all your help and assistance regarding this matter.

Can someone tell me how long from getting the notification from USCIS that the interview (I-485) is scheduled to actually getting the letter in the mail takes? I know the government shutdown does not affect USCIS directly since it is paid by the fees for immigration, but with the New Years coming on Tuesday....will they send out mail this Monday 31?

Mine says: “why are you even doing that, we might not be summoned for months!”...I’m like: “and when we do, we won’t have to get all that stuff together, we can even visit a new state a few days before, snap a few pictures and add them to the pile👌🏽“ , he just said yikes to that 🤣
my card is to be delivered today 🤞🏽🤞🏽, it’s been at the post office since Saturday already 😭 and i generated a to do list of places to go and update my info to my new name 💅🏽, been practicing the dmv permit exam questions, updated my resume to my new name, the volunteering stuff I’ve been doing in the meantime....very psycho stuff but I like being prepared😅😅😅 i used to spend 2 hours going over all the forms a month before i printed it out and no RFEs thank Goodness 😅

I know it might be psycho of me but i started doing that when i was first gathering the “evidence” for the aos 🌚 I bought a few of those accordion filing boxes and organized it in a very professional way, so I’m pretty much ready to rumble. I even made an exact replica of the packet, all originals are in those protective sheets, everything has easy access tabs, etc. Good luck 🍀 we’re half way here 👌🏽

When we first got here and were applying for everything we didn't realize you could get an SSN with the I-94 because nobody told us about it.  It would have been helpful if the US embassy in New Zealand had mentioned that or if the officer at POE had given us instructions.  I still don't even know if Utah will even give out the SSN without the EAD since it sounds like some places are far less cooperative than others.  It would have been nice to know that was an option but we missed that opportunity due to so much uncertainty.  Doesn't help us much now though.  I wish the immigration offices would be more clear about what we can and can't do.   A lot of people are relying heavily on forums to get the information that they need.  Immigration should be providing clear instructions instead of leaving it up to us to guess.  I've just gotta throw my hands up in the air at this point.  There is nothing we can do now to make it go faster and we will just have to work around all the issues for Christmas.  I will call them again on the 14th of December and then again at the beginning of January.  If that doesn't get anywhere I'll have to contact my Congressman who has only just been elected in.  Maybe we will have some luck there.

Laura & Chris reacted to Swissmiss82 in June 2018 AOS Filers
ok now my confusion officially has begun - just saw that my status changed overnight,
but not to what we expected, but it says "9 days ago, ready to schedule interview..."

stay calm - staaaaay calm!!!! 🤷‍♀️

additional info: until last night the status showed "interview has been scheduled" since oct 15,
and it's interesting how they can adjust the date now to nov 21, although it wasn't updated on 21,
and we finished the interview.... big questionmark

I have the right to sue for a decision on my case after the maximum amount of waiting time has passed and i have exhausted all other forms of inquiry with no success or avail. So i will retain an excellent immigration lawyer  to proceed with the suit if it comes to that. I don’t think is fair or ethical to charge people for a service that is supposed to be in the order in which case is received, not being processed accordingly. I see people here that have submitted their paperwork at the beginning of june, some in may and theirs hasn't been adjudicated either But at the same time you see people that submitted in july and theirs has been? That’s just a little ridiculous. What are they doing exactly? Just piling folders up and mini minie moeing? Especially if your case was already accepted with no additional evidence requested because you sent a complete and organized packet exactly how they instructed you to. Not fair. So we’ll exhaust every resource available.

I totally agree with you. Also sue them for processing cases differently by where you locate. If you sue them , please sue this too. Because this is extremely unfair for people like me unfortunately live in places that takes over a year while other people get Greencard by 3 months. Thanks!
