  1. Hey everyone,

I am not sure if it is appropriate to put here, but I submitted my N-400 application online today due to military service.

When you are in the military you are able to submit your N-400 even if you have a 751 pending and even if you have less than 3 years. Just a heads up.

I am putting it on here for those who might be in the same situation or have any questions can contact me.

    Hello!

My ROC was also transferred on 01/06/21 and I will be getting the letter in the mail today. I hope it’s not something to worry about. I filed my ROC on 05/31/20.

You have nothing to worry about. On the contrary, getting this letter is actually a good thing as it means that your case is moving.

  5. Hey all,

The status for my ROC changed to "Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction" today. I did not receive a notification.

It looks like CSC might actually start seeing some movement.

It appears as though submitting your N-400 woke up your file immediately. Lol.

    Hey all,
We filed our Application for Removing Conditions on Residency within 90 days, but towards the later part of it. The application should have been received about a week before the expiration date on the green card. Now the green card is expired and we don't have the notice of acceptance letter.
Are we supposed to do something or should we just keep waiting?

    Thank you.

It sucks to say, but you will just have to wait. Especially as the Holidays approach.

    Hi all,

Time flies and it's almost the time to renew my 2 years green card.

One simple question, on I-751 form, it asks about all children. So my son was born after I got my 2 years green card, and he has already had his US passport. So in this case, do I still need to put his name on I-751 form? And the select "child not applying with me"? Do I just need to pay the biometric fee for myself only, plus the application fee?

In addition, the form on USCIS website expires on 12/31/2019? And we can still use this version, since there's no update?

    Thank you!

Yes, all children must be included.

For those of you in the National Guard that have completed BCT: how long did it take you to attend BCT after enlisting with the National Guard? Ive heard it can take up to a year before you can even get a BCT date, so i want to hear from everyones personal experiences and timelines. Thanks.

    Hey,

It all depends on what job you end up choosing that determines your ship date. They schedule you to ship on the nearest AIT availability.

I enlisted in October and I am shipping out in May. Another person who enlisted on the same day as me is shipping in February.

My situation is I graduated OSUT and reported to my RST to out process already. But I still haven't reported to my main unit yet because it stays 3h away and I call and nobody answers.

I see. I still have not been to BCT or AIT yet so I am not too familiar with how the process is. Did they happen to give you any email contact info for anyone in your main unit?

Thank you for responding to me. Yes, I was on the phone with USCIS and they informed me that I need to get it certified. I'm going calling so many people right now because almost everyone in my unit is away and it is hard to get in contact with the right people. It is just a little bit frustrating!

Have you been to your main unit yet? Or are you still reporting to RSP?

    Hey BB,

I'm literally checking my process right now and what happened was I went to Basic and AIT without nothing and graduated on November 13th. They told me in the base they don't do that anymore, which I was cool with it. As soon as I left the base, on November 17th, 2020, I filled the process by myself and submitted. TODAY, I just got a RFE requesting me to take my N-426 to my base and certify it. The thing is, NG members once they leave the status of active duty, they go to status of reserves component and that is the reason why we get the DD-214. I LITERALLY sent an email to USCIS asking about this confusion and if I can send my DD-214 instead of going to my NG unit and asking them to certify.

This will not be possible. Because you are currently in the service you must get the N-426 certified. Submitting a DD-214 is only for individuals submitting their application because of "prior service." You will need to get this form certified by an O-6.

    Hi all,

if this post is not under the right category, please can you move to the right one?

Well, my situation is that I submitted my naturalization process on basis of military service. Therefore, I submitted my N-400 form along with N-426 form (military service certification). The thing is...TODAY I got a Request For Evidence (RFE) simply because I didn't ask in my unit for an O-6 or above to certify the N-426. Now they are asking me to reply with the certified document so they can process my case. But here is the thing, I was reading the instructions of the N-426 form and it says that IF you are separated from ACTIVE DUTY then you don't have to certify with anyone since you went to the reserves, which is our case of National Guard members, we go to the reserves component. I have my DD-214 here at home but before I submit I wanted to make sure what is the right thing to do because we only have one chance to respond a RFE or we might get denied. I contacted USCIS as well and I'm waiting on their response! Can someone please give me some light?

Are you currently in the service or are you prior service?

  15. Hey all,

So I just found out that members of the military (like myself) are able to go to an ASC and get their biometrics without needing an appointment per the USCIS website https://www.uscis.gov/archive/questions-and-answers-for-members-of-the-military

“Active duty military members do not need an appointment and will be accepted on a walk-in basis at any ASC in the United States. Bring your military ID or DEP ID card with you to the ASC.”

I know the 751 instructions state that we “might” have to submit biometrics. Should I go my nearest ASC and get them completed even though I have yet to receive a biometrics appointment?

My reasoning is that by doing this someone might get an update on my file and get my stalled file moving. Lol.

    Quick info of my situation:

Applied for ROC to in July 2020.

    My service center is California.

My case status has been on “Case Received” since July (like many other WAC July Filers)

Thank you all for your help.

  16. Still waiting on California to step their game up and start sending out biometrics appointments or waiving biometrics at least. Lol.
