Ilio&DF got a reaction from Patri&Mandy in Cubans Guyana Interview
Here is the information that one of my friends gave me, who already did the interview in Guyana on June 26, 2018. There is this Cuban company in Guyana that can help you in transportation to move around Guyana without the need to use taxis and they will pick you up at the airport and take you back. They will also take you and bring you to the interview, to collect the visa passport, to the medical check-up and to collect the results of the medical check-up.
The company is called toma 1 travel the email is toma1oferta@gmail.com  and its website is www.toma1oferta.com. The contact number to reach them is + 592-680-8487 and you can reach them in WhatsApp also. The medical check you do in a day and depending on whether you are a single person or a family will be the delay in returning the result for a single person the results is usually returned the next day however for families sometimes it takes two or three days. The limit cost is $ 250 but some people find it cheaper because they are already vaccinated with vaccines that make the total value a little bit higher for example in the case of my friends she (beneficiary)  was already vaccinated with the yellow fever and it cost her $ 180. The total price $250 for the medical check covers both the blood test for $ 10 and Chest X-ray  for $ 15. Remember that you have to carry the vaccination card from Cuba so you do not have to pay for all vaccines again.
Their interview was for 8:00 am but they arrived at 7:15 in the morning and they made the number 20 in the queue. According to my friends, everything was very fast and organized. First, they go to an area where they check the papers that they are going to take to the window where they do the interview, then the interview and then they tell you if you are approved or not and also that it takes 7 days to have the visa passport ready however hers was already ready the next day. The visa passport is collected in another place that is also close to the embassy. The ticket to travel is recommended to buy it back and forth the same for the person traveling from Cuba to Guyana as for the person traveling from the United States to Guyana.
Later on in the return you can change the destiny of the person who was going to return to Cuba changing that passage back to the United States to make that change to them specifically cost them $ 538. The value of these changes depends on the airline company with which you decide to travel. They traveled through the Copa Airlines but there are two other companies that fly to Guyana (Caribbean Airlines and Suriname).
My friends say that there is little entertainment outside the hotel so he recommend you to take something that you can connect to the TV like the Apple TV box ( that is what he did). I know that Walmart has a device that is like a flash memory used to connect to the TV ( I think it is  call streaming box and it comes with different names ) and you could watch Netflix and YouTube and other things on the Internet so you do not get bored.
When they arrived in the United States they were given a form to fill it out and apply online for the residence and it is paid online also it costs $ 220 and you will receive the residence to the same address that you put in the form that you filled DS-260.
He also told me that on that day there were people doing an interview that had been pending since July 2017 and that they had an interview when U.S.A closed the embassy in Cuba since Tropical Storm Irma, so we only have to wait patiently and see when our interview comes. If you do not speak English or do not understand English you can copy all this note and translate it into Google translate. Unfortunately I can not write in Spanish in this topic. You can also contact me through the private message of Visa Journey. I usually do not go to Visa Journey because it is very difficult for me from my cell phone because for some reason I cannot explain I always get a lot of pop-ups and restrictions when checking VJ post/ topics from my cell and  it does not have an App either. But even once a week I check VJ almost always on Sundays. I hope this help and clarify most of you. I wish you good vibes......

Good morning, I'm sorry you had to go through this. I already knew about this situation of the tickets for Cubans traveling to Guyana it is mandatory to pay round trip ( this only related to Cuban government )and they have to show the confirmation of the purchase of the ticket in the airport customs because otherwise they will not allow the person traveling to get on the plane . My husband has an interview in September and I bought the plane ticket through the COPA airlines and after that the way out is paid for Cuba you have to change the destination to return to the US that costs $ 150 with the COPA.

Good Morning. This is the last info I got from some friends that already got their interview completed in USA embassy in Guyana. They got their interview done on last June 26, 2018. They are 3 couples with CR-1 Visa.
What I believe is most important for all of us following this process is the TIME that it will take to get completed. All of them have their cases completed by NVC on DECEMBER 2017 all of them have different priority dates on their processes in USCIS what makes me think that NVC completed case date is the one that counts for an interview date to be given to each of us.
These all couples got the same date for their interview JUNE 26 of 2018 and for some reason I think NVC is only assigning only one day of the month for all the CR-1 visas.
I called NVC yesterday and the agent told me they are already scheduling August interviews and I believe that those interviews assigned will be for those  people that got their processes completed on January 2018. So make your own math and get an estimate date for your interviews. It could be that some months have less cases completed than others and probably it will help to move the list further. I hope this help you. I am waiting for my friends, as soon as they return I will post everything about how was the full process ( so far I know the interview was really fast, well organized and short ( 4 question or so only )). Feliz dia

    Hi Visa Journey Community
I am inquiring about the new change for Cubans (National Cubans getting an interview to get a Visa to enter USA) outside Cuba. Many of you probably already know that these interviews will take place in Georgetown, Guyana.
I want to open this thread to have all of the people from Cuba that are on the same situation we are just updating and sharing their info if possible about this matter.
The last update I got from NVC was via e-mail which  explains the change imposed to Cubans to travel outside Cuba in this case to Guyana to get their visa to enter USA.
My case was updated at the beginning of March 2018 and I am still waiting for them to give us any new update about it.
Last time I called NVC was like around two weeks ago and the agent who took my call told me to call every week to check on our case since many times they already assigned an interview's date for a case and the petitioner/ and or beneficiary does not get the email about it until 2 weeks later  or so.
Please anyone that knows or has an interview's date already please let us now just to have an idea of what dates/cases they are processing now, or at the moment you let us know. Please share, share,  share ..............................
     Thank you all
Let's praying to have our loved ones with us as soon as possible .

Ilio&DF got a reaction from Rachy & Manolo in Visa processing for Cubans in Guyana
    Good morning
I am in the same situation waiting for an interview's date for my husband.
I think NVC is still working on this huge change. They are organizing the interview's date for Cubans and our processes were be delayed 2 or 3 more months. Our case was ready for an interview in Bogota however it was seat at NVC waiting for an available interview's date and this situation of the change of embassy came up in the middle of it.  I would  advice you to write an email to NVC by June 1st which is the date they supposed to start the interviews in Guyana. I think the process will be quite faster than it was in Colombia and also this U.S embassy in Guyana does not have the demand of visas to be processed and cases to be attended as the Colombia one has. Just crossed our fingers to get our interview soon.
    Good luck

When I had to send in my proof of assets, I sent my tax returns for the last three years, check stubs from my employer and a letter of an offering of employment because I hadn't been at the job long, and I wanted to prove they offered me a full time position. If you have anything else in bank accounts or anything that can be converted into quick assets within the year, you can send them proof of that as well.

Ilio&DF reacted to Ryan H in Staple or Paperclip Documents?
Don't staple anything, use paperclips and those large black binder clips to hold your file together. Use of plastic slip covers, 3 ring binders, divider folders, etc. is a waste of effort because once the file arrives at USCIS, it will be disassembled and then reassembled according to their own preference (files are also disassembled so they can be scanned).
I would also discourage using both sides of a piece of paper as information on the "back" side of the paper may be missed.

Ilio&DF reacted to JBMG in TIPS - How to avoid a NVC CHECKLIST
Avoid getting a checklist. Here are the most common reasons why people get a checklist.

FIRST off, the NVC does not receive your documents from the USCIS. The only documents they review are the ones you send them. And the VERSION of documents you sent to the USCIS, may not acceptable at the NVC. VERY important, check the US embassy website in your country to see if you can get a detailed list of the versions of the documents you must need. Normally their list will tell you the version you need. Make sure you include everything that is required (applicable to you) from your NVC welcome letter.

Here is a list of the most common reasons why the NVC delays cases asking for new documentation to be sent to them.. Delaying the processing for another  8-11 weeks!

    THE NVC loses your documents:
Make sure you write your CASE number on EVERY copy, including your AOS/i-864 form.. TIP:  Buy a stamp and stamp each copy..  Or print out the applicant's case number/name on a label sheet, then cut and stick on each copy.

Use the correct version of each document: Verify the version you need with the US embassy you're having an interview at. If copies are not in the embassy accepted language, have them translated. But send the copies of the original with it.

AOS/i-864: Write None and N/A on any empty field.. You can't do this via the computer.. Have to handwrite this. Include EVERY page, and sign it. Even if there is nothing on the page, you include it and write None and N/A on every empty field.

    Police and Court Records
If you lived in any country more than 6 months, you have to request and police report from that country.. If you have any court records, you have to request those too.

The following are commonly lost, missing, or the correct version wasn't sent in originally.
    Police records/Police clearance
    Court records
    Birth certificate
    Marriage certificate
    Landing Papers
Proof of residency. For example, you're from Portugal but living in Canada. You need to send the NVC your canadian proof of residency and landing papers.
Tax Transcripts, W2 Forms, 1099 forms. If you don't have a w2, and tax transcripts explain why you don't have them in a letter.
    Divorce records

Here is a list of real checklists from Feb/March/April cases.. Don't let this happen to you.
    =======
Asked for proof of canadian residence (PR card) which was already submitted with I-130 and mailed document to NVC on June 12th. Also assessment for W2 form which I can take in Interview.
    Court record
    Incorrect BC and police report
Affidavit of Support form and supporting financial documents
    Photocopy of original birth certificate
    Missing Birth Certificate
    Wrong birth certificate
    missing i-i-864a (household member)
They say we are missing Birth Cert and Police Cert but we sent them.
    Missing police record
NVC could not accept our police certificate-apparently they lost 2 pages of it
    Birth certificate
1st checklist 12/07/17 . correct info in AOS : in the application in sponsor's household size i filled the box #3 instead of #1.
2nd checklist 02/11/17 only sent corrected pages. Didn't know that i had to send all 12 pages again . my latest scan date was 02/15/17
    I-864, some places left blank.
They said it was an incorrect birth certificate.
    Checklist for a death certificate
    Court Records
    obsolete AOS form

Thank you for your time in filling out the survey, with your help, this will hopefully help others who are about to submit their file to the NVC. And possibly help the NVC improve their instructions to reduce the amount of cases receiving a checklist.

    Hii..

Yes, we sent all the documents to the embassy on 12/20 and I received an email today with the interview date. He has his interview 01/19. So we're starting to plan his trip to Buenos Aires and back to Mendoza. We requested his passport be delivered to DHL in Mendoza so we don't waste any more money on an extended stay in Buenos Aires.

I know from the user who had her interview in Bogota that the medical was like a 2 or 3 day process and then they had the interview that same week, or the week after. They then waited there and picked the passport up at the embassy. I think they were there for a week or 2, but I'm not 100% sure. Hopefully everyone can get through the process quickly and be with their loved ones.

    Hi Team Cuba,

In the data-driven spirit of VJ, trying to aggregate a list of Cuba filers and their status/updates on NVC/Visa Interview in Colombia. Hoping our collective knowledge can land us answers and maybe even an estimated timeline.

Fiance visas are considered immigrant visas in Cuba's eyes. K1 visas can be transferred to another embassy as long as you show proof that the Cuban is legally residing in that country; such as the Cuban resident is in a different country for school or work.

Most likely, you'll have your interview at the US Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. Your fiance will need to apply for a tourist/visit visa to Colombia and make arrangements to stay around 3 weeks in Bogota to attend the interview and pick up his visa.

Per The US Embassy Website FAQ's:

What if I would prefer to process my immigrant visa case at another U.S. Embassy or Consulate? Am I required to process my case in Bogota?
While current immigrant visa applications will automatically be transferred to, or scheduled at, the U.S. Embassy in Bogota, immigrant visa applicants may request to process their application, or continue processing their application, at another U.S. embassy or consulate.  Such applicants must provide justification for the case transfer (such as, for example, a move or change in residency to another country) and show that they can legally reside in the country while their case is being processed. Any such request must be forwarded directly to the Immigrant Visa Unit at the chosen U.S. embassy or consulate.  If the U.S. embassy or consulate agrees to accept the case and the case is qualified for scheduling, the case will be transferred.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I know you have waited a long time for this. I know I got emotional and started crying too once we got approved. It's nice to start the new year knowing there is an end in sight. The process is long and you wonder if you will get through it. Now you will have a reason to celebrate! Happy New Year to you guys as well!

Hi Sundee our I-130 was already approved thanks good. A tier 2 agent called me today. He said it was approved on 21st and is on the mail. I am so happy 😀
Saturday I will go to Cuba to stay with my husband and our family the New Years Eve
Thank you so much for your support
When I come back I will start to gather what I need for NVC
Do you think it is enough if I send my w2 for the last 3 years and my last 5 pay stubs and a letter from my company that I have been with them for almost 3 years or I also need the IRS transcripts
    Enjoy the holiday 😀😀🍻🍻🥂🥂
