  1. When I paid DS-160 Fee it took a couple of days for the Schedling Interview to open .

1.) I had no problem at all schedeling our Apt for Feb-26-2019, I had 10 or 12 different dates to choose from. When I slected it showed 30 sec later in USTravelDocs.

The funny think with that at first look many apts, I called her and said what date is best, it took her 5 min to decide. It had timed out and when I went back in they were all gone but one in 3 days which I was still in US. I called her back and said they were all gone and give me a date which anytime after you can make work. She did, when I went back in the 3rd time all the 10-12 sates were back in.

2.) See also had no problem getting her medical Apt. She said, MOM said only need 1-2 days before interview. I said let's give it more time than that just in case there is a problem which she scheduled for 19-Feb-2019

All is good, today we received tracking number from Embassy by email. So will pick up  Mon or Tue at Pony Express. We selected Office Near our Hotel.

    Best to all!!!!!

I'm considering hiring an attorney named Michael Gurfinkel to handle my K1 visa.  Does anybody have anything good or bad to say about him?

    Ram1009,

After 25 responses (I did not count the one that <Asked everyone to lighten up> you did not receive ant answer to your original question. Even I failed to give you a proper answerer which now I wished I had **Note to Self; Please try and remember to try and answer the question. If I can’t add anything constructive say nothing!!

Ram1009, thanks for providing this opportunity to look at myself.

If you don't have unlimited funds, you shouldn't pay $1000+ to have a lawyer who could care less about you do the job of a minimum wage worker.

You literally fill out a form with simple instructions and attach some documents. Unless you a straight up criminal or fiance/spouse is banned from the country, or illiterate, don't bother and spend an hour reading the instructions.

What a wonderful message of kindmess & support.

If you want to why not.

  4. I would not be so fast to say yes, they are married. IMO is not a legal option or binding. So perhaps Not. Maybe the question is, in Guinea under their law is this in fact a official marriage. If Yes, there is your answer. You could go to that Department that regulates & issues marriage licenses and ask or better check online to see or call. Then you have your answerer. I do not believe you will Ever find anyone here say anything different than Always Be Truthful is the Answer.

I am not gonna say it’s impossible but it is very very hard to find an employer that is willing to sponsor a foreign national from a foreign country. Reason being there are many many graduates every year that are foreign nationals here in the US and they are competing fiercely for those jobs that offer sponsorship for H1B and/or GC. Most of them already have the ability to work temporarily through OPT. For example, in a typical year, there are 85,000 H1B cap visa and 20,000 of those are for Master Degree and above and usually they receive around 200,000 applications in the first 5 days of the new H1B season and they close the cycle and do the lottery. That’s what you’re up against.

As noted above, this is the harsh reality. Impossible No, a very hard task and be ready for the task at hand.

I am currently in Moscow for K1 Visa interview. A friend of mine who is Russian (Mater in Software Engineering is married to Vietnamese women with BA living in Saigon.  He has desire to live in US, better opportunity, for family, child (when child was born, they were not allowed to give child name the wanted, it had to be a Vietnamese name format with only approved name). Her mother lives in US and soon his mother will live in US be close to family. So many reasons for desire to move).

They have been staying in my house for about a month now looking for work. Prior to coming applied for many jobs, had call with job offers. Even CV said he lives in Vietnam thy thought he lived in US and when they found out he didn’t removed offer. While here same, but said they don’t offer visa support.

So not having much luck. I told him to fly into Mexico run across the border and it wouldn’t be a problem to get a job (for you folks in Rio Linda or without a sense of humor LOL (the purist sign there is no intelligence life on Earth)

  6. Had interview today, if had had printed out al Pgs would have been 1136. I took about 5 pages from firsst contact and up to about a week before interview and a sampleing inbetween. Whe had Ltrs and cards we send in a stack so they could be seen, she asked if he wanted to see and he said it's OK (meaning he didn't feel he needed too) I would say as always be honest. Don't say something that if asked to show evidence you can't.

They were very nice and helpful. Pleae don't thinl their not very smart.

This is a DIY website,  what do you think the overwhelming response will be?

DYI VisaJourney, Damn, I would have never known. The vast amount of people here are not  Pro -Attorney. I really have no dog in this this fight. For me I hired an attorney and would do so again. I had none of the problems that perhaps 90% of the people asks about.

There is no right or wrong answer to this. One, can only do what is best for them.

  8. I'm in Moscow as I write this. Medical Tue 20th and interview Tue the 26th. I bought her over a month and a half ago. She has the seat next to mine. I always fly Aeroflot from LAX.  My return and her ticket are Flex. Change date no charge, and return ticket for full refund if worse case scenario. You can get a much better rate if you book further out as anywhere or airlines (there are sometimes exceptions) So, for me this works. I've been using my Delta Sky Miles Card (also get a free checked bag) for everything, Mobile, cable, gas, car ins everything I buy. Each Sunday I go through all the charges I made that week and make a payment like I had been using my debit card so never have a big bill to pay.

This will not work for everybody, however there might be a couple of things you might find handy.

Best to all and may you have Visa in hand soon.

  9. So, I there appears to be a lot of speculation point to the belief it looks/appears no have been a wedding. However, at this point there is not definitive reason. HMM1234 is asking about his brother. Perhaps he is unaware if was AP or what. I did not here him say airlines tickets, boarding passes, or copies of visa from passport were sent with pictures. I’m sure many of us who have came near interview or visa has said “If what I know now, I had known when I started it would have been, less stressful, easier, and quicker to do”

I truly believe this thread has a powerful point.  Don’t Do Anything that has any kind of resemblance to a wedding, being official or whatever. If you live in like Texas, and have a BBQ and the preacher shows up because he’s always ready for some ribs & brisket—some CO from Vermont is going to say “looks like a wedding to me”

Just be very careful what your family events look like.

Sounds like you need more information from brother so folks here a better picture of what the issues might be a best way to deal with it.

What Ann & James said is the best answer “There is no appeal for K1 visa. Before thinking about apply again they should find out why they were denied so they can overcome this”.

    First define the problem.

  10. When they sent me an REF notice the forms have a barcode on the right hand side so they can scan it in to the person who has your case file. It also came with and envelope on on the fron was Attn: like J Hargrove.  They send a letter asking what they needed (asking a question about some of the supporting docs)

I just responded to the question asked, keep it really simple. 3 days after the got it I had an email and 4 days later the offical notice it had been forwarded to NCV. My first draft was like 3 pages. On my 5th draft was Pg & half. The will tell you every thing and question. For me just as simple answer- to the point of the question.

Sounds odd that a company would be helping with bank statements. Is it a small company or a big one?

if you’re going for a conference for work why do you need leave? That also sounds odd.

When I travled I always had to have a leave form (absent form work for education/ training/ conference. It had to do with insurance (if was was injuried or killed and not on an approved absent) insurance coverage could have been denied as  being absent form work. I would be be able to get travel pay, perdiem for food and loding, taxi and misc expenses. It's more of a HR/payroll thing. also, since I was not generating income that time would count againt me bounses. It happens.
