Not to mention before adopting, you would need to physically live with those children and care of them. Which would mean you'd need to move to their country for 2 years.
" Second, you must have lived with your adopted child, and the child must have been in your legal custody, for at least two years, either before or after the adoption -- but before submitting the visa petition. Moreover, if the adoption took place in a Hague Convention country on or after April 1, 2008, the two-year period of residence and custody can’t be in the United States. "

We have an answer. And the answer is: no, you cannot adopt them and bring them to the US when their parents are still alive. Doesn't matter if you like their environment or not.

Sooo.. few months ago you wanted to deport your husband because he started acting up.
Then you wanted to bring his family (and said kids) on tourist visa.
And now you wanted to adopt those kids (which btw, isn't happening when their parents are alive).

So it kind of looks like your husband family is pretty desperate to get to the US and they might think they can immigrate through those adopted kids?

You didn't screw up anything.
Your K1 seems to be almost done, you'll move to the US soon and that should be the most important thing for you - not the money.

And it's hardly "thousands of dollars". AOS from K1 visa is just 1.225$ (I think)

I mean, you can always cancel it and do the DCF but that just sounds like a waste of time you already spend waiting.

Also I remember a French girl interviewing in London a couple of years back who used to post a lot in this forum. She had no delays due to her country of origin.

Since everybody is sharing a lovely photos of you, I will continue with one of us I am sure we are one of the youngest couples in here, combined age 45
