Bring you green card and the extension letter. When you come back from a foreign country, make sure you arrive EARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLY. Give yourself at least 2.5-3 hours before flight departure. Because they likely will have to call the US side to verify your green card status before checking you in. It could take up half an hour or more for them to verify.

Once you properly file for ROC, you will et an extension letter. This extends the validity of the existing green card by 18 months.
You must carry the green card + original extension letter anytime you need to present your green card.

Exactly. We traveled to Vietnam using the letter. We tried to get a stamp in her passport, but the USCIS office said "We don't do stamps anymore." They explained that the letter is good because the info is in the system. The only problem we had was as the airport in Hanoi, Vietnam. A young immigration officer refused to let my wife go to her flight because the name on her ticket was not exactly the same as her name on her passport. She had to get a "verification" stamp (on her ticket) from the airline counter, stating that she is legit. Hey, it's a communist country, former war foe, and a lot men don't like American men marrying their women. I get it. Be prepared.

Look at the filing locations information the same place you downloaded the form.  You I-130 did NOT have to "go in one of those.....anything."  I suggest using a free envelope from the US postal service and Priority Mail, but any kind of envelope and/or delivery service will do.  If you don't use the Postal Service, be sure to use the street address instead of the PO Box.

Are you military or on government orders?  Highlighted   And they usually get to do a (ink) fingerprint card and not the scanner.
 
Since your stateside you'll get a notice with a date, time and place to show up to get biometrics and a new picture.

Congrats!!! I'm so happy for you guys! I am estimating by the end of this week or next week I should get a case number because we were only behind you for a 1.5 weeks. Let me know when they schedule for your interview! I want to see how long that takes. Congrats again.

@JBapay my husband will interview at Ankara as well. I finished uploading all of my documents last week, waiting for case complete (hopefully no checklist). I'm curious too as to how long we'll wait for the interview. But I'll keep you posted on our progress!
