  1. My husband has his interview Monday! We are so beyond anxious and READY. He had a phone interview as well for a job opportunity this morning. I know the process for the interview will include 2 more interviews for the position, but curious as to the time frame that people are receiving their card in hand after the interview? I've seen 7-10 days but then have seen around a month too. (We are one that never received EAD/AP @ 302 days) Thanks!

  2. Question, on the GC checklist, it references to bring the sealed envelope/medical I-693 form with (if not already submitted). I mailed that with our initial application. For those that had their interview, did you encounter any issues due to you not bringing a copy of the form you submitted? I have an extra vaccination sheet I'll bring and a medical CD (I believe for the chect x-ray) that I'll bring as well. Did they ask much about that?

Then why are those from March getting their service requests answered in days, whilst I'm still waiting at 312 days.

    Bloody ridiculous.

I know, so contradicting with what they are stating.. I feel like it all depends on the luck of the month, maybe that month our applications were processed in some type of old software or were processed by employees that left, I truly don't understand how they can get away with just being okay with not giving a straight forward answer.

  4. Also, for those of you that have been "lost" in the group of filers as it relates to no update on EAD/AP at 270+ days, this was the response from USCIS regarding my SR submitted, basically just stating that due to issues within the facility our case is delayed:

The status of this service request is:

Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in the order received and in a timely and efficient manner.

The letter lists out in bullet points what you should  bring. They should have most of it already, but its probably just in case something got lost, or they want to double check and make sure nothing has changed. We took a day or two to gather everything on the letter once we got it, spent an afternoon at my parents house printing everything, and then set it aside until a week before the interview when we went through everything we printed and put it in order they listed on the letter.

There is a part that just says "supporting evidence" and in for that we brought our join lease, bank statements, joint utility statements, joint health insurance, and a photo album. Our interviewer asked if there was anything we wanted to add to the application so we just handed him that stuff to keep with the exception of the photo album. He didn't even notice we had it until we were about to leave, but then he got all excited and said seeing the photos were the best parts of his day so we stayed an extra five minutes and he flipped through it. He didn't ask to keep any of the photos.

If you have changes in the affidavit of support, make sure you bring that information (like, proof of a raise) so that it is more up to date. Our interviewer asked us if we wanted to submit any updates to it, but compensation doesn't take place in my job until October so I didn't have anything new to add.

Thank you! This is great information to have. I have him on a handful of utility bills, my insurance, and actually in my will (I know super morbid) so I will print off all of that information. I just made a wedding/engagement photo album I made and I will bring printed photos if they do ask to keep anything. Did they have a copy of the full 485 application there already? I wouldn't need to bring that?

I do want to congratulate everyone on their approval so far whether that's the combo/GC. I know I don't check in often and miss things/updates. I really hope those still waiting for something hear something real soon for sure!! ❤️

I know this is basic information, but as I wait for the interview date letter, what did you guys all prepare for the interview? I have joint bills/paperwork/wedding album/photos. Will the letter say what you need to bring? I'm assuming passport, birth certificate and such?

Wow, it was scheduled quickly! That's amazing!! BIG congrats to you, you've been waiting for so long. But after you get through that interview you won't have to worry about immigration stuff for a good long time :D good luck!

Yes you are right! I’m glad we only had to wait a week for the scheduling but still disappointed in aspects of how the system worked with our EAD/AP. Just to say that there are a small percentage of people that basically don’t have a reason is not acceptable. I’m happy to see some light at the end of the tunnel! How long did it take users to get their interview date mailed after status change to interview scheduled?

Aaaaahhhh, I just checked right now and to my (expected) disappointment, no, nothing changed. I-485s and SRs both. My mom’s advance parole SR was assigned to an officer last August 06 but it’s stuck at that and i-485s are stuck at “Case Received” since 11/27/18 lol.

I’m anxious to go through with this expedite process though because I’m not sure if I’ll receive just the work permit or i receive the travel permit along with it in combo card form. I’ll update once anything changes! :)

Sounds good! Likewise, I just submitted another SR on the I-131 as this SR was done 7/11, assigned to an officer 7/22 and then nothing. So, hopefully it doesn't screw me over with another waiting period but if it's "already" in this other queue then it doesn't hurt as a friendly reminder in my mind. The I-765 hasn't been assigned to anyone after submitting a SR on 7/24, but our I-485 changed this past weekend to Case is Ready to be scheduled for an interview. So, if we could bypass everything and just go to the interview that would be great as well.

Hi, no I don’t have a pending job offer.. but I can apply real quick and ask for a letter though lol!

that’s why I was hesitant to file too since my reasons were 1.) we’re just almost 9 months left behind 2.) my stepdad’s drowning in bills 3.) his savings are going down the drain 😕 the additional income would prevent him to use up all his savings so I wanna write down too if ever I make a letter and fax it to the officer, so I was thinking of sending those (letter, credit card bills, bank account statements) instead. I really am just eager to get the i-131 and figured to kill two birds with one stone by trying to expedite i-765.

Ha, yeah it doesn't hurt. I just get so hesitance touching anything with our cases after seeing what happened with the SR.. absolutely nothing but more waiting. So, hopefully it works for you! I guess anything at this point helps.. has there been any status change to your 485? Or, have your SR been assigned?

i filed an expedite process request a few days ago and received an email today that i needed to fax proof of a pending job offer—should i include other proof of “financial” loss too for good measure? (bills, written letter explaining financial loss)?? and for those who successfully tried to expedite your i-765s, does it (usually) mean that you also get the i-131 too?

Do you have a pending job offer by chance? I haven't filed an expedite so unfortunately I don't have much input with that, I feel like if did that I wouldn't have a "qualified" reason besides the fact that my application has been extremely left behind and that our family would be better off with 2 incomes verses one. I don't know if that's "enough" for them without something more extreme.

It’s been 265 days for me since the last update for i-765/i-131 combo card and i-485 AOS application, and at this point I’m really just waiting for the i-485 to change status but our LFO is Chicago and I think it’s not one of the fastest LFOs in the country. However each day that passes I grow more anxious since I have to go back to my country in late September or early October. We’ve never anticipated this long wait for EAD/AP 😕 I am really thinking of reaching out to our senator because of this. Any of you had luck reaching out to your senator to see how your cases are going? I’ve already called the USCIS countless times and filed case inquiries and even had an expedite request filed for the i-765 but nothing still. It’s been almost 9 months. Any advice would help. Thank you.

We have had our state Senator from Washington DC calling USCIS the past couple of weeks and received an official letter after each call mailed to our home. The first message she got was that we had to wait 30 days to call after the SR. The 2nd message she got was after that 30 days passed, our case was "assigned" to an officer and we have to wait but that it's good that there's "progress." Honestly, I appreciate the effort, but I do not believe that it does absolutely anything. I don't think USCIS cares who is calling whether it's the applicant that paid thousands of dollars or if it's the Senator. They're not going to pick up your case and prioritize it based off a call unless it was the President himself. The application is where it's going to be for the remaining portion of the wait in my mind. Every piece of "info" I have received is information I can find myself from calling, researching, or monitoring my case from my own seat. I do know expediting and submitting a SR puts you into a new "queue" so I am not touching anything anymore. Not calling. Just letting time run it's course.

First of all, congratulation for being Ready to be scheduled for an interview.

However, my field office is Santa Ana, CA but my case is Ready to be Scheduled for an interview since April 8 :(

My friend in the LA Downtown office had the Ready to be scheduled update less than for 2 weeks... She also got her EAD after 3 montsh of fileing, and I'm still waiting for that :(

Yes what I've seen is you're categorized in 2 buckets.. the pool of people that get everything very quickly (EAD/AP, quick turn around in interview statuses) or just the bottleneck group of people that don't receive any EAD/AP/Status Change. I have a feeling we won't even get the EAD/AP and we just will get the interview scheduled in the next month.. holding onto intuition and hope of course and also I have a friend who's wife moved here from Germany last year and she had her interview within 8-10 months of filing. Currently we just under 9 months.

  13. Well 264 days here waiting for EAD/AP.  Our SR for outside of processing times I'm sure got us a whole lot of nothing. Called once we were "allowed" to inquire because it was finally 30 days after the submission of our ticket for them to only tell us that yes, it is assigned to an officer and you have to wait, if you would like to can submit a new ticket.. I'm like #######. Yeah, that's going to make me want to file a new ticket or new anything to make sure my case gets stuck somewhere again.

On the small silver lining perspective, Saturday we received a status change for our I-485 from Fingerprints received (since 12/2018) to Case is ready to be Scheduled for an Interview. Any Milwaukee office people in here that received that status change and can reference how soon after they received their interview date scheduled? I know it's a HUGE range for some offices, but I'm holding onto hope that maybe we are just going to receive the Green Card and the EAD/AP will just dissolved at this point..

Really frustrating wait. :( Please update us here if you receive anything useful from USCIS tomorrow. I can only call again on Aug 15 since it’s gonna be 30 days since we filed the AP SR. We actually have a similar timeline. I really am just hoping that we receive our work & travel permit soon. Seems to me there are some progress with other November-December filers. I hope we’re next.

Yes you're right I was just looking at our timelines and they are very similar! We are currently living in West Bend, which area are you located in?

    Hi All,

Just a quick update from my call with USCIS today after waiting 30 days for my 'out of processing time' request for AP and hearing nothing.

I actually got a very nice guy on the phone, he looked into all my cases, said they all 'look normal' and then filed a new 'why is it taking so long' case for my AP, he said I should hear something via email by Aug 23rd.

While I still have no idea how long this never ending process is going to take but at leased came away today (perhaps) a tiny step closer.

Good look for all others calling in for the same reason soon, I'd be interested to hear what they have to say....

Thank you for the update.. and at the same time I'm so sorry to hear this. Tomorrow we are able to call and check on ours so I will keep everyone posted as well. We are at Day 260 today and my biggest fear is that they will still give me the blanket statement. Hard to know that in my same local office, someone just got there EAD in 3 months. Here we are at 9 months. Does you Case online state that it was assigned to an officer?

Congratulations!! So glad you guys received yours, at least now you’ll be able to travel + work and not get stuck around the house. It’s been a hard wait on all of us. May i ask though... Did you file an expedite request or a case inquiry for both AP & EAD??? I filed for a case inquiry about 20 days ago and was planning on getting an expedite request but I got hesitant when I read your post. It’s just that things seem to be moving so slow 😕

I as well am going to hold off from expediting because my senator and actually USCIS told us even with a case inquiry it goes to a new Team, so I don't want anything else prohibiting it from moving forward we are almost at the 30 day mark after the inquiry so I'm holding on hope to that day we can call after the time frame expires. I don't need any new team transfers in my mind at day 259

Day 257 here too. I’m thinking of calling tomorrow just for an update. They said to wait for 15-30 days. We’re way past 15 days for the SR for our AP. I’m just too tired to be hearing the same thing repeated all over again if I call tomorrow. I don’t want to be waiting until September for this :( The wait is gruelling and I’m thinking of contacting our senator and congressperson too this week if we don’t get any useful update soon. Do you think contacting the senator helps the case at all?

From our experience, it sounds like the Tier 2 officers can't even touch or review the cases until the 30 days passes after submission of a SR. I have 2 Senators I believe that are calling on it. One called a few weeks ago who just emailed and told me "I was in the normal processing time" then the next one called yesterday after mailing us a letter saying they will be calling on our case. She stated that they can see the case, reassured us that it is not lost, apologized for the time, and told us that we have to call on Day 30 which is this Friday. So I'm not sure if it "helps" but I hold onto the hope that if enough people are bugging them about a particular case that they will eventually get annoyed and just approve :)

  18. For all those still waiting, we are at Day 257. I feel like we could be making some progress with the calls in on a daily basis but I'm not sure. I have had our Senator calling who was able to clarify that the app isn't "lost" or any issues, just in the system still. Once you submit an inquiry for outside of processing times, no matter "Tier 2" officers cannot see into the case anymore until the 30 day period has expired so know that when you do submit one that yes it will go to a different Team and reviewed but they won't be able to guide you along where it stands in the meantime. Our 30 day waiting period is up this Friday for AP so we will call then. The Tier 2 officer actually offered to have a higher up officer call my husband back to inform him that "all is well" so fingers crossed..........
