looks like they want a joint sponsor for your I 864 and are not accepting it as it (or the joint sponsor u provided)

U may want the emotional support of your husband,  but if your baby is at risk ,  u should return to US

we totally understand the heartbreak a person goes thru when separated from a love one and its hard

but immigration does not really rush for anyone

and yes,  many are receiving the request for domcille proof

even those who live in the US and own a home/it seems to be popping up a lot these days

when any part of this immigration asks for something ,  u just gotta do it

I filled out the I 864 about 4 times as i live on a paid for annunity and no taxes are due on it so although i have a substancial income,  NVC didn't want to approve as my tax returns show the income as non taxable / had to pay a lawyer to get my i 864 past the taxable income line

I already have a joint sponsor, my Dad. And the last request they made included having me submit more of his tax documents, as well as mine, for further poof. And an updated I 864. I'm upset that they didn't add this to it. And I wasn't trying to get out of sending it, I was trying to get the proper way of doing it. Their note to me did not give me any instructions other than to look at their website to see what documents qualify as proof of domicile. Some of which were already included in my packet, but I was going to send as many of them as possible to make sure their was no way to overlook it. I don't want to get a request for more information from them every couple of months, so I just wanted to see if anyone had been through this process and what steps they took to make sure it doesn't get screwed up again.

The plan was always for me to leave in December. I teach at a University and would really like to finish out the semester with my students in person, but my boss and my students are all aware that there is a possibility that that may not be the case because of my health. I have organized everything in my life to prepare for this. My husband even has job prospects lined up just waiting to hear when he can move, he's finishing up his current cases as we speak, and his job is aware that he's leaving and said just give us a date. This is literally the only thing up in the air for us right now and we thought we would be a step closer to having it squared away this week.

  2. For anyone wondering: It took me hours to even get NVC to let me sit on hold because they had so many calls they would just say to call back another time. When I finally got through, I was on hold for about an hour before someone picked up. I told her the situation, she said to just put it in writing and that should be enough to get us to the interview stage. She then recommended that I bring a letter from my parents saying they were allowing us to live with them to the interview. I'm still attaching all of my proof, to my letter since, well I don't trust them, and I do not want to go through this again! Especially since, she did say we will have to go through that entire waiting process again. So, yay, another two and a half months before I know anything.

I did ask if we could qualify for our case to be expidited. I know that pregnancy alone isn't a reason to expedite a case, but with it being high risk and disabled I was wondering if that would make a difference. She recommended that we fill out the paperwork, but did not really give an answer on that. What she did say though is that it will not affect the speed at which they process our documents (which I knew), but if approved, it will speed up the processing of our interview. I'm officially going to attempt to go back to my doctors insistence that I avoid all stress during this pregnancy. 😒

you do not mention at what stage you r in your pregnancy

understand that u can not travel in last 3 months of pregnancy

and High Risk,  u would have to have dr note saying u can fly (for the earlier stages)

Germany has excellent drs and u may have to plan on the baby born there

If baby is born in Germany,  follow the guides to get his/her US passport

This is already middle of September and chances of getting joint sponsor (u say I 864 was not enough) and completing  NVC stage and an interview is slim

and yes, u can ask for expediate but still its slow

    Congratulations on the baby

I am able to travel until late January, even as a high risk preganancy, but would like to leave between Christmas and New Years. All my doctors here and in the US agree with the plan, and I have checked with all of the airlines that we will likely take on their policies. Germany does not have great doctors for me, my disability was just recognized this year and has very few people trained or even aware of it at all. This has been by far the worst medical experience of my life, and the few Germans I know who received proper medical care for our condition had to immigrate to the US for it. Even my Mother in Law who worked in Health Insurance before she became disabled tried to help me and concluded that I needed to move back to the US. Considering my Mom had 6 miscarriages because of our disability and I keep having to remind my doctor of that when he says, "That's very uncommon, I've never even seen it in a pregnant woman before." You also, said you've never seen someone with my condition before, so...
I do not want to move to the US without the support and assistance of my husand, but I have NO intentions of having my baby in Germany. NONE.

We have been in the NVC stage since February, received a notice saying we had to correct some paperwork in late May, returned that at the beginning of July, and were expecting to receive an answer this week, and this is what we received.

  4. Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone who received the proof of domicile request knows the actual next step we are supposed to take. I live in Germany with my husband, and I am a disabled woman with a high risk pregnancy. I would like to move to the US with my husband in December. We will be moving in with my parents temporarily, but with my Mom also being disabled, and my Dad working full time a ways away, my husband really is a huge support system to me.

I have my proof (car registration and insurance, bank and credit card statements, tax documents, storage unit receipts, renewed drivers license, voting record, extensive travel to the US pre-covid and once post-covid, I even have a Maternal Fetal Specialist who will be taking over my pregnancy care as soon as I arrive in the US), the question is, how am I supposed to submit it?

Do we send it to the NVC now, or are we supposed to wait until we are scheduled for an interview? They said that can take up to 30 days, and I don't want to wait that time and then discover it wasn't scheduled because we didn't submit.

If we submit it to the NVC, how? Obviously, our I-864 wasn't enough, are we supposed to submit another one? I plan on calling them today when they open, but trying to be as prepared as possible!

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advanced.

We got the same thing! Hopefully that means there’ll be an approval in my mailbox this week! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Yeah I was thinking I couldn't be the only person who received it, and probably won't be the last. Hopefully it will give you guys some hope with these stupid broken systems we're being forced to deal with.

yayy congrats on my date bros and sistas :)

hope I'll be right there with you soon 😁

I have a feeling you're going to be soon! One of the first things I thought when I heard (My Mom sent me a picture of the envelope and I called her and said, "You can open my mail!!" She said, "I thought you might say that." And started reading suspiciously fast. I kind of wanted to say, "How many times do I have to tell you it's a felony to open someone's mail without their permission?!" But then I decided this was probably not the time to bring that up. At least not until she got to the important part. lol.) *In my best Sophia Petrillo voice* But I digress.

As I was saying, one of the first things I thought when I heard was, "I wonder if Naes has heard yet?!" My life has been BEYOND crazy lately, and I haven't been able to keep up with the forum much, and when I do I feel SOOO behind. Sad that you haven't heard yet, but keeping hope that it will be soon. You more than deserve it for all the work you do for us!!

bwahahahaha yesssssssss - I got contacted by them also!!!! :D I thought it was a joke so my Mister made me ask more questions, and turns out that it wasn't a joke.... but... it's not our cup of tea ;)

Yeah I was wondering if it was a joke too! There's no way I would do it! But I love torturing the people in my life, so I've been acting like I want to convince them so bad!! My fiance was all, "Wait, you REALLY want to do the show?!?!" I keep asking my family to manufacture drama by pretending they don't like him. They REFUSE!! This weekend I joked that they almost like him more than they like me. My parents did not laugh or try to deny it, they were just sitting there like

To do cr1 route and start again after you wait for so long, 😮😭I think will be so hard. Try to wait is my advice and a miracle can happen to get the visa faster.

No, I would move there while we wait for approval. So it would be shorter. We would get married in May (4 days after our 3 year anniversary), actually get to take our honeymoon this year since it's abroad, and then go to Germany to wait it out. I will probably end up better for us anyway. One of the reasons we chose the US was because career wise it's easier for him to transfer his career to the US, but temporarily, it's probably better. He makes slightly more money than I do, but the cost of living there is not as high as in CA and there's a minimum 6 weeks vacation as opposed to here where that's not even guaranteed. He wants us to wait to move to the states until after our kids are born since we'd get a year materninty/paternity leave (split between the two of us), but I want my kids to be born in the states. Also, I've done the whole living in Germany thing. I know I'll want to come home after awhile lol.

It just doesn’t make any sense.....

it states which consulate they’re choosing for me and then that they are forwarding it to the consulate mentioned. I don’t get it.....  not a single word of NVC

also weird is that they chose Berlin as my consulate when I thought only Frankfurt is handling the K1 Visa.

    Highly confused.

I would love to upload a photo of the notice but for some reason it’s not letting me upload anything.

    Sigh.

I know this is late, and hopefully not already addressed. But when I mentioned the Frankfurt office to my fiance (who lives in Bonn), he said, "I'm pretty sure it's going to be in Berlin." And I said, "We'll see who's right." That's so odd, because everyone talks about the Frankfurt office! It is, and isn't a huge deal for him, His parents are from that part of the country, so he'll go home and visit them for his interview. But that's a REALLY LONG trip considering there's an embassy right by him.

Hello VJ family. I was wondering, are there any petitioners on here live in California close to LA and soon to be spouse coming to California as well? I'm asking on behalf of myself and my future Husband because, this process is not easy, and it would be great to find some friends we can hang out with together that really know what we had to go through. Most family and friends don't understand, in a relationship like this and it seems taboo to them, So it would really be refreshing to have friends on the same page that we know wont pass judgement, or ask us a million questions every time they see us. and more importantly, question our Love and think we have a hidden motive about our relationship......

Ps. Just a heads up for those of you that are in the June and May Forum, I will be posting this message there as well.

...Are September filers able to get in on this too?

I watch that show too and I always wonder how legit is it.

Some couples went through the K-1 process, got approved and then use the 90 days to decide if they wanna marry.

For me, no one in their right mind will be willing to go through this strenuous process if they are not 100% sure they wanna marry.

Then there are some who are students (like Chantel and Pedro) who supposedly did the K-1 without her family knowing about it or the guy at all.

She wasn't working so how did she get Affidavit of Support.

Just feel like anyone who went though this process and gotten approved, shouldn't have that much drama afterwards.

All of those couples were filmed at the very latest the beginning of this year, but most likely last year, and earlier. Back when the process only took about a month. That's not a huge deal.

Totally with you on the Chantel and Pedro front though. Unless she used her student loans as proof of income. I would say that shouldn't be accepted, but you can use those things as proof of income for a lot of stuff!

Must be a military thing. But also, it's not the supervisors releasing them, it's the President. One year we were only given an hour, and people were pretty upset that the President was being so stingy that year. But I also think the most we ever got was 3 hours. BUT who knows. Trump can be all, "This is a waste of tax-payer money!!! Get back to work!!!" I can see about sending a message to one of my old contacts...but it would be awkward because all the ones I actually talk to don't work there anymore. And it's kind of awkward contacting people you haven't talked to in years for a favor lol. Then you have to do that fake, "Oh no, I was interested in what's been going on in your life these past 5 years. How's the fam? GOOD! GOOD! So are you getting off early today?! Oh, no no, Not because I wanted to get together, but yeah we should schedule that. Just wondering! :D"

So just as an FYI. I unexpectedly ran into a former coworker this past weekend. He is someone I keep in close touch with. But when we worked together, he was the regional director of our agency. Pretty high position, but now he's DC working as a director in the agency that oversees our agency and another. I figured he's now just a little too high to just message with my random little questions lol. But I did ask when I saw him. Trump gave them 3 hours off. He actually was pretty shocked. Said in his 30+ years as a Federal Employee he can count on one hand the number of times they got 3 hours. Apparently over the last few years Obama would only give an hour, which I'm sure did not endear him to the employees too much. My former coworker seemed really frustrated by the 3 hours btw. Big difference in how you view these things when you're an employee vs the boss. As a citizen impatiently waiting for a Federal Agency to do what I need them to do, I feel his pain and frustration!! Also, I'm extremely jealous that they got 3 hours off paid and I didn't!!! That is all.

Yeahh.... My fiance is military and got a half day today. So I told him - hope that doesn't count for USCIS! His reply: If they are civilians they will only get 59 min early release. That's the earliest a government civilian could be released if their supervisor let's them.

So I'm still hoping there are some people working!

YES!!!!!  They are going to rock it tomorrow because they are all happy they have Thursday off.

Okay, so I don't want to be the bearer of bad news...and maybe Trump will do things differently. But as a former Federal employee, under both the Bush and Obama Administration, I feel like I should let you in on a little insider information you guys might not be aware of. The day before every major holiday, the President sends an email to every government employee giving them part of the day off paid. The email would usually come an hour or so before the East Coast employees could leave, and a good portion of the day was spent wondering when we would get the email and how many hours we would get off.

I now feel ashamed of my former government employee selfImage result for guilty face

  16. Hey guys, I have a random question that I will probably need experienced help with lol. Is there a way to send more information before receiving an RFE? Based on what I've read on the forums, I'm 99% sure I will receive one. I have the stuff ready, but with a good 3 months left in the process, is there a way to just get ahead of things and submit an amendment (with cover page of 'course) or are they just going to throw it away or "lose" it? Thanks!
