Each state has two U.S. Senators.
Congressmen handle smaller geographical regions within each state.
Sometimes, you can get quicker action working through your Congressman's office.
Thanks i call my district congress woman and going there tomorrow praying for some answer's

Get your Senator involved. Tell him to inquire about your i-485 status. I have had plenty of luck with senators moving things along. Good luck.
Thank you for the advice

I strongly believe you'll hear from them any time now with an interview date! Yours has taken really long..especially the transfer to local office! Remember Nichola2017 got scheduled within 8months and she's here with us in NYC! So I believe that all cases differ same state or not..probably depends on how fast the adjudicating officer schedules folks and other situations..but generally NYC takes quite some time!😕
Thanks for always lifting our spirits @Stillwinning!!!😊 i praying and hoping so too My officer in charge must be a turtle lol

Keep your head up, dear. Hope for the best but think ahead and update your expectations in anticipation of long wait times in NYC. I feel your stress but remember to keep on renewing your EAD card way before the expiry date.
Thank you will do

Hi ladies & gents,
I wanted to update you that I got a response from my Congress person that my case has now been transferred to the NYC local field office. It falls within current processing times which ranges from 21 to 36 months. Currently there are no interview dates available. I wanted to add that as @Stillwinning!!!😊 said, you might not necessarily receive a case status from them in the form of a courtesy letter or a notification that your case has now been transferred to the local field office. Even I when checked my case status online, I don’t see any case update. Just a heads up, folks!
This is meant to help you keep your expectations in check. The interview wait times might be a bit longer than expected. Let’s hope for the earliest possible response, though! 🤞
I am waiting almost one year already for interview NYC

Thank you dear, yes, that’s s long gap in between approval notice and courtesy letter then transfer notice. I hope you get your request for interview soon and don’t have too long to wait for the interview date. NYC & Chicago wait times appear to be much longer than other places. Let’s hope for the best and I believe a positive outcome is in store for everyone here.
@namastenyc sorry it was a typo my case was transferred September 25th 2018

Hi all,
I saw that some people posted here a few days ago saying that they are now skipping ahead straight to mailing out the request for the medical exam, interview notice and approval letter vs. sending the courtesy letter and informing petitionevthsr their case has now moved to the field office. If this is true, and I noticed that other folks who applied around a similar timeline as me have now started to get the interview request or already completed their interview. Hallelujah! 🙏 In this regard, is it wise to go ahead and book an appt with the doctor for the medical exam over the coming weeks? It’s valid for 6 months, right? Or, is it better to sit right and wait? If anyone have any recommendations for doctors in NYC, please pm me. I don’t have a big budget so I need to plan for this advance. Hopefully it’s possible to get this all done under within $250-500 max. I would appreciate any input from you all. Have a wonderful evening, folks. Thank you for your time and valuable contribution. 🙏
I will suggest waitng because i am too waitng for interview was
Approved September 14th 2018
Transfer to local office September 25th 2019
Courtesy letter February 5th 2019

VAWA Family,
We have cried together, disagreed on rules/regulations, and prayed together. This morning I had my AOS Interview, and when I walked into the interview and the IO was smiling, I knew all prayers had been answered.
I was sworn in, and he asked me where was my lawyer, asked me husband's name, asked for medical, asked me where I wanted GC Card mailed (still having it mailed to safe address). He then thanked me for coming early (I was there at 7 am cause I could not sleep), and GC will be mailed in 3-4 weeks.
Five mins ago I received this e-mail:
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On August 15, 2019, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number EAC, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. It has been a long two year journey for this process, but a longer journey to be safe and away from harm. To all be steadfast and hold onto God's unchanging hand, he will give you comfort and joy.
CONGRATULATIONS MAY YOUR JOURNEY FORWARD IN LIFE BRINGS YOU MANY LAUGHTER AND REFRESHING MEMORIES

Hey Nikky is your field office Queens too? Truly no one can say for sure how USCIS operates..I've see very unusual situations/cases...also I don't pay much attention to the processing times no more...they're not working according to them... @MAYgirl I believe strongly you'll be notified shortly! Don't be distressed! Nikky was worried as well next thing you know..the letter showed up! Keep cool God is in total control!🙏😊
