They should get cancelled automatically, and status change to "Benefits obtained by other means" Though I would not bet on status actually changing. Regardless, you shouldn't need to do anything. Once you do get GC on hand, head to SSA office, and have them remove "DHS Authorization is required for work" from your SSN card.

Then kick back and relax for next 21 months or so before you have to start the process with I-751 Conditions Removal.

Oh yes!!! I wondering about the SSN! Thank you so much!!

You can apply for naturalization (US citizenship) three years after your green card was issued if you got permanent residency based on marriage to a US citizen (presuming you're still married) or after five years if you're not (but are still here legally for one reason or another).

Because of current removal of conditions processing times, it's apparently fairly common these days to file for naturalization while your removal of conditions case (which gets you a ten year green card) case is still pending.

So if my current greencard has expired and my 10 year greencard is pending, and I’m working at the time, can I still work or would that become illegal?

Also 3 years after the first green card that was issued or 3 years after the 10 year greencard that was issued?

So far no, she didn’t really gave us an answer, she said she will review it again and maybe she will approve it or she will send us a letter asking for more evidence. So it’s up in the air hahaha. So frustrating.

I hope she approves you! Try and get your names on as much as possible together. If you need to join a club or a gym with both your names on the membership then that would be good too. I think you’ll be fine though

We also brought pictures ranging from 2012 (when I was 15 years old) to now...she looked at them and was like is this really you 💀 I looked so incredibly different at 15 than I do now 😂

Wow, I cannot believe my officer didn’t ask for any proof of joint account or pictures. I really want to know why each case is different! I prepared everything for no reason 😂😂😂😂

I got this same update the day after my interview. A week later it changed to Case was Approved :) so I think it's normal!

Okay, great! Thank you! I am a huge stress head and I can’t stop thinking about it. I went in an hour later to give my vaccination records and I handed it to the main desk in person but I have all these ‘what if she doesn’t give it to the officer’ questions in my head. I keep thinking of worse case scenarios 😂😂😂. I’m going to have a nice cup of tea and head to the gym to distract myself

Exactly! I mean we sent 4 pages of pictures ranging from 2012 to now and she said she wants to see the progression of our relationship.  So the fact that our 2012 pictures doesn’t look like our 2019 pictures is not progression enough? Heheh I mean so from 2012 to now is not enough progression? My husband and I were thinking, if she wants all this medical insurance and other bills now, what is there left when ROC time comes.  We explained to her why we didn’t have enough as of right now.  We may have been married May of 2018 but I didn’t get my ssn until late May of this year.  When we got home my husband tried to put me on the cable bill and he was able to do it.  Then he told me the cable guy he was talking too didn’t even ask for anything other than my name, in my husbands head, so how can someone prove it’s a real relationship based on a cable bill.  We explained to her why we didn’t have utility bill, the house we are renting is own by my mother in law, so the electricity and water bill is under their names.

So did she give you guys an RFE?

It’s funny you said that, I had my interview today and everything was smooth sailing but the woman kept hammering us about more documents with our name together. The only one we have is the recent tax return.  She only asked us our marriage date and she asked my husband my parents name.  We have 4 pages of different pictures ranging from 2012 to now, and seems to be wanting text messages proof. She said she wants to see the progression of our relationship.  We told her we maybe married last year but I didn’t get my ssn until April of this year.  She said she will review our case again and decide if it will be approved or send a letter asking for more documents.

Wow, my interview was so different. I didn’t send any documents with my husband and i’s name or any proof with the initial AOS document and at the interview he said he only needed me Since we were already approved for k1 and got married in 90 days. He said I didn’t need any proof hahahahaha. It’s weird how different everyone’s interviews are! I wonder how they determine whether they want proof or not?

My husband and I were pondering this and maybe it’s because they’re concerned if we will become reliant on the state so they ask for more proof but if the spouse makes a lot more over what is required, maybe they don’t need proof? I don’t know... It’s a mind boggle to me

Yeah. Don’t be too hard on yourself, it’s a lot of paperwork to look at and sometimes things get overlooked. Let us know if you get any updates. The write ups on these interviews are so interesting as they all sound different in some ways!

For sure! Honestly it was so surprising that he didn’t bother to look at anything! 😂 some interviews are horrible where they want so much more proof but we got lucky! I’m also lucky I got the vaccinations done the same day and handed them in without needing the mail man to do it for me. You’ve all made me feel a lot better so thank you!

I wouldn't worry too much, you've done all you can and now its entirely in their hands. Im sure you guys will be fine ❤ my online status took almost a week to update to case approved! Id wait a few more days still before worrying too much :) congrats on your quick interview

Thank you!! Yeah I’m in two minds. He did say he doesn’t need my husband and he just needs to adjundicate the greencard since we were approved for k1 and we got married within 90 days so he doesn’t need any more proof, so because of that I feel great but at the same time I’m super nervous. They can’t  deny me without looking at proof when I literally had a huge folder hahahahaha. I’m going to wait a week and if it isn’t updated, I’m going to call the office. Thanks so much!!

It sounds like you’ll be fine 🤗 , maybe check the status tomorrow or so because with some, it looks like they update quite quickly. Did the medical people in London overlook your chicken pox vaccine and forgot to tell you that you hadn’t had it done, or did you already know you didn’t have it?

I knew I didn’t have it because he marked it as ‘not readily available’ so we can’t get it done in the UK but nobody told me I had to get it done in the USA. I wish I did more homework on that but I didn’t have any issues until now

I think you will be fine. He didn't request or ask for any proof of relationship at all eh? So different from the other interview posted here, where interviewer kept demanding "joint accounts in the name of the Law!"

Check your status in a few days, hopefully it will update!

None at all, he saw me and my husband and said we only need her since you both had approved k1 and married within 90 days. My husband asked don’t you need any of these folders? She took a while to prepare all of this and all he said was ‘we don’t need any of that’

He didn’t ask for ANYTHING, only the vaccination for chicken pox and my passport. It was crazy, I don’t know why he didn’t want any more proof. I didn’t send any pictures or joint bills with the initial AOS package. I think maybe it’s because my husband is a surgeon and I’m from the United Kingdom, they thought they don’t need any proof? Who knows!  He didn’t say specifically that I’ll be approved once I hand in the vaccinations but if he had any doubts, surely he would have asked for proof? So confusing

This is very interesting to me. So they told you need vaccination, and then to immediately bring it back in, not have to mail it?

And congratulations on "intense" but successful interview. And glad to hear they are training more people to help handle the case load!

I don’t even know if it was successful, he didn’t ask for any proof, only passport and said he doesn’t need to interview my husband with me because our k1 was approved and we married within 90 days. He said I didn’t have the chicken pox vaccination and told me he’s going to send me the letter or I can wait 5 mins and get it and I said ill wait. He said I have to get it done by September. Once we got the letter my husband knows a civil surgeon who’s his friend so we just walked into his clinic and got the vaccinations sorted out so we were either going to mail it or we just thought we’d go back and give it in so that’s what we did! The lady took the envelope, stamped it and now I’m waiting... he didn’t say if I was approved or not but at the same time didn’t ask for proof? What do you think? I’m a bit stressed out about it haha

  12. Oh my god, my interview was so random haha. We prepared so much and the man said to my husband that they only need me because they only need to ‘ajudicate the greencard’  So I was like okay cool. So he interviewed me and asked me all these random questions about when my husbands birthday was and how many times I’ve been to the US. He also asked if I was planning to commit crime, espionage,  or terrorism and I said no and then he asked why? And I said wait, is that a serious question? He’s like yeah, and I’m like because I’m not a criminal and he said that’s a fair enough answer 😂😂😂. He was so intense but didn’t ask me for anything in the folders I’ve prepared. He just asked for my passport and then said I just need to get the chicken pox vaccination so I’ve got an RFE for that but I’m going to a civil surgeon walk in clinic now to get it done. There was another guy in the room and he was taking notes. I think he was training him. At the end of the interview I told him he was really intense and they just chuckled. It was a good interview even though I was nervous as hell.
