    1.  Sometimes, the immigrant receives a sheet of paper in addition to the sealed packet.  This sheet has the A number on it.
    2.  The A number is the registration number printed on the visa.

Hello everyone! I had my interview yesterday at the US Consulate in Bucharest and was approved!  I checked CEAC today and the status said ISSUED so I should be receiving my passport with the visa in a day or so! I cannot tell you how relieved I am. Good luck to you, VJ fam! You all have been a great support system!

I've got my visa approved today!!!

They let me in 40 min before the scheduled time for the interview. I got my number and waited less than 10 min to be called to the first window (certificates, affidavits of support and all that stuff). That first part was about 5 min or so.

After another 10 min, I got called to the interview window. The interviewer was really nice and asked the following questions:

    - Who's the petitioner?
    - Where did you meet each other?
    - Where's your spouse living now?
    - Are you planning to stay there?

And that's it!!!  I finished the whole thing when I was supposed to have the interview .

Approved! So relieved that it's over. Do I continue to check the status at the CEAC site for visa issuance? Or is it a different website?

It's sad that replies jump to 'motives' and 'hidden innuendos' of the OP.  I am equally guilty of assumptions often when I read a post.  I have found that a moment of reflection and re-reading the post before quipping a response usually produces my best answer for the benefit of the OP.

I believe that what we do today has an influence on tomorrow.  If the OP has decided to NOT follow through with her original intentions, she is being prudent in that she wants to expeditiously dispose of this matter in the best way that has the least impact on tomorrow.  Who knows what tomorrow will bring?  Maybe she likes American men, Maybe she is just closing the chapter in this book and preparing for the next chapter to begin.  In any case, her dark secret ulterior motives were not stated in her post, so we can presume all we want - and quite frankly, I don't think she has any.

A post on VJ should not be a descent into a viper pit.  It should be for a dialogue of considerate and respectful discussion.

There are immigrants from Europe and then there are immigrants from the rest of the world. Trump seems to think those from non-European countries are problems. He married 2 from European countries.

I am sure that he employs many in his hotels. Guess what? These are jobs many don't want because they are near minimum wage, part time and no health care. Many of these immigrants have no choice if they don't speak English and cannot get another job. There may be some who are illegal!

Numerous people employ immigrants to do their menial jobs and they pay them close to nothing and no insurance, just like Trump.

I am opposed to illegal immigration as well.

My initial point was that the Trump administration may not have anything to do with the back logs getting cleared. That was the whole purpose of this thread. Some of you give Trump too much credit and he has done nothing but tweet. Let's see what he does with North Korea. He is a weak President. All talk and tweet but no action! Let's hope that he does not do anything stupid that will compromise the safety of the US and the rest of the world.

The best thing is to go back to your country and do it there. Changing status within the US can take 6 months or more and you don't have that long on your B1/B2. It is faster if you go back to your country and also, you don't run the risk of violating your B1/B2 which would immediately make you ineligible for student visa (it has happened to a lot of dumb people that they complain on VJ).

injejo14 reacted to The Burts in Medical Checkups, Johannesburg-South Africa
    Hello there VJers,
I just want to share my experience with all those going through South Africa for medical check ups. Please do not rely on the information provided at Embassy info regarding medical fees. I definitely think that they need to update the information there as its confusing when you budgeting for medical checkups from other countries.
Embassy info shows +-R3997.00 but the new requirements are actually R4605.00 excluding vaccinations for adults. Children are R2700.00 excluding vax. I would advise anybody makes a budged for medical checkup to add extra R1500.00 to be on the safe side. I am not sure either if it would be better for the doctor's office to advice applicants before hand of which vax they might will expect. If they design a form that they can email to the applicant and confirm of the vax you had, it might will save everyone a headache of worrying about how you will get your money together in the foreign land at the last minute.
Yes, I know the process is expensive but not everyone's bank account is overflowing with cash that is not budgeted for. Most of us are doing our plans relying on the information provided by our Embassies. This is very annoying when you being told something and end up doing unexpected ones. We want to reunite with our beloved ones, not to be tortured like this.
I hope this little info helps.

    injejo14 got a reaction from NDB052714 in annulment/divorce questions
I fully agree with NDB052714 .. Moving to a new country is difficult and some what traumatic to the psyche. We imagine psychological trauma to only be associated with things like death but changing countries is a big event. "A traumatic event involves a singular experience or enduring event or events that completely overwhelm the individual's ability to cope or integrate the ideas and emotions involved with that experience" After i got married, i decided to stay in the US with my husband for 6 months during my CR1 process and those were very difficult months ( this despite the fact that i had lived in the US under an h1B several years prior. For me this was particularly hard because i gave up a successful high paying job in johannesburg, a good life...and i would often remind him of that.  Although we made the decision together, i still turned around and made him feel bad for me not feeling good about myself. I felt trapped. I too, found comfort in wine. It didnt help that i probably also had a case of SID during the winter time. After a couple of months, i admitted to myself that i was clinically depressed and got the help i needed but it was embarrassing to admit this. I pride myself in a being a strong person. Thankfully i had friends from when i lived there before and when i started to socialize more, i started to feel better.  I am so glad and relieved that i got the help i needed because my husband is a wonderful man and he was incredibly patient with me.  I have a friend who just moved to NY, we used to work together, he is struggling to find a job.. he admitted to me to having the same resentment feelings about "giving up a good life"...A lot of people struggle.
Given how much you love your husband, i hope you at least consider this before throwing it all away.
    Sending warm wishes to you!!

i hear you... the problem sometimes is that guys (yes, not all) aren't as introspective as most women are. so unless he acknowledges that he has a problem, nothing will change.
I am sending big hugs to you. This too shall pass.
