I didn't and I wouldn't say for a fact that he is being scammed. (I'm not saying you are talking about me.) But this happens a lot in the Philippines. I am from there and believe me, I've seen cases like this. Some people are getting angrier every time, especially the people who really love their fiances and husbands, as these scammer is putting a bad name to filipinas/filipinos. Also, I am not saying that OP's girlfriend is a scammer. My only advice (to OP) is please make sure you are doing the right thing. And like @Grant PDX said, it is your choice.

Well....its up to you. What I would do is wait until Oct 17 since it was their date for the SR you opened.

Thanks for the info. September 25th is my 75th day for EAD as well as AP and AOS. My field office is taking really slow on processing AOS so I'm just waiting on that part. I plan to call for EAD on the 76th day.

I called USCIS today as my EAD has now been pending for 77 days without update much like my AOS and AP. I put in a service request since being past the 75 day mark as stated on their website. I was told that I'll receive a letter in the mail within 30 days, if not to call back.
I'll post again to let others know if this has been in any way beneficial to my case.

Yeah September 25th is 75 days! I'd wait until 76 then submit an inquiry but probably no harm on 75th day either

To those who expedited and succeed, I am aware that they asked for a job offer letter for some (or everyone?) people to process an expedite. But I have a question, is that the only thing that they really want? Or I can like show bills and bank account or something? There's a lot of job opportunities from where I am but I am scared to even submit an application because I'm not really sure if they will accept me if I don't have my EAD yet. I don't wanna ruin the opportunity, like they hire me, and then I don't have EAD on hand. My NOA1 was July 13. I am guessing I'm not getting anything until November.

M&JB reacted to Scandi in Did not get I-485 Interview Letter and received a Denial What do we do?
You need to check up on your status to keep track of your case, you could have avoided this issue by contacting the USCIS 30 days after the status changed to "interview has been scheduled" to let them know you never received the letter, and especially contacted them as soon as the status changed to "document was sent back". It's a mistake not to keep your eyes on the case status, it's there for a reason and you can even sign up to get updates via text and/or email. With that said, the case status doesn't always update itself the way it should. But when it does it allows you to be on top of things if interview letters or RFE letters go missing..

1. If they are only going to rent, then there is no such thing as a one-time payment. There is an advance payment which is usually just up to 6 months or a year. But a real one-time payment for rent? Impossible.
2. If they are buying the house with just a $10,000 one-time payment, I would agree with what @Ehri&Mark has posted. It is way too cheap for a house located in Taguig. If what they meant by "one-time payment" is actually a "down payment," then for sure, there will be more payments needed.
Please be careful. Ask them questions. $10,000 is half a million pesos, and that is, by all accounts, already considered a large amount of money in the Philippines. Good luck.
EDIT: We use Xoom to send money to PH. It works best if wired to a BDO account as the transfer is almost real-time. With BPI, there is a delay of a few hours (4-5 hours max, based on my experience.)

Mmmhhh, I don't like the sound of this and not to mention, she is only your fiancée...Please before doing any type of transaction such as this, think it through...You must asked yourself questions such as how were they surviving before they met you? What would they have done if you weren't in the picture which is pretty much the same question like the first..I know these are not responses you are looking for, but please be careful on whatever you decide to do...I don't have an answer on how you should transfer money, but the post above gave an answer...Good luck!!

Like what Greenbaum said, are you sure this is not a scam? May I ask how long have you known your fiancee? I am from PH as well and I use banks to transfer such amounts of money to my family. There's a lot of banks that do international deposits and transfer - Bank of the Philippine Islands, Landbank, Metro Bank - are few examples. I personally use BPI. However, this will depend on your US bank. Mine is not really a BANK bank, but a credit union. In addition, I hope you have known your fiancee a long time to send this much of money. Good luck.

To add, $10,000 is such a small amount to buy a "house" on one payment. Especially the location (Taguig/Manila), this is a quite large city and you can seldom see a house this worth. Normally above $10,000. It also depends how big the house your girlfriend is talking about.
EDIT: I'd say they might know the seller to get discounts on the house, but this is very rare especially in PH. Business is business. I bought a house from where I grew up and the location is a small town and yet I bought it for $15,000. Again, good luck.

Let me say this. Are you sure you are not getting scammed. This "stinks" of scamming from my experience and that is why I ask. Of course, what you do is your business, I understand that. Sending a check is very difficult. He would probably have to wait 30 days for it to clear after he deposits in his bank. Then once that happens he can either withdraw it as cash or they also may provide a check. You could skip the 30 day wait if you were to send the money to your GF account and she can control it on your behalf.
I'm not sure that you can send $6,000 casy with Remitly but I know that Xoom just started offering money transfers up to $10,000.
I wish you the best and hope you have thought this through. Again, I think this could be a scam but I am not in your shoes. Please be careful.

That's a good question and I'm interested in the answers of others.
Re: job applications, I started sending out my applications though I disclosed that my EAD will be available sometime November. According to my hubby, the hiring process takes time so I was hoping that by the time the EAD is available I am ready to start.

I was out of status for 3 and half years and I filed this July and currently waiting for any result. I wouldn't advise waiting longer when you can file for AOS because of the way immigration is as of the moment.

M&JB reacted to PedroDaGr8 in July 2017 AOS Fillers
It is not, EAD/AP are processed entirely separately from I-485. Most of the I-485 is processed at your local branch. If you get an interview, then it is based upon how busy or slow your local branch is.

I don't think that it said on the I-485 instructions to include a divorce decree. They should have it on the records since all K1 applicants included it on the I-129F packet. However, there are people who are saying they included theirs just to be on the safe side.
