JasonGG got a reaction from G>^v in POTOMAC (YSC) I-751 Non Transferred Filers ONLY...
Hello all.  I was looking for info on Potomac and found this thread.  My wife just got her text this morning that the i-751 for her and her daughter was received and the application is at Potomac with a "YSC" receipt number.

    Filed: August 1, 2020
    Rejected: August 12, 2020 - wrong i-751 edition
    Refiled: August 19, 2020
    Received (Texas): August 21, 2020
    Text/NOA: September 2, 2021

Their AOS was super fast, but from what I have read in this thread, it doesn't sound like we will be so lucky with removing conditions.  It will be interesting (hopefully fun) to follow everyone's progress in this thread.
For now, we'll wait to see what happens with biometrics and plan to file the N-400 in a year.

    Good luck everyone - Jason

After a false start from a rejected application (wrong application edition 😖), we finally got the USCIS text message and notice from our bank that the check was cashed this morning!  Receipt date was 8/21 and I assume the application is now headed to the Potomac Service Center because the receipt number begins with "YSC."  Now the real waiting begins!

I remember your story, that's why I'm little nervous. My wife had her interview, got the job and was working there with customers. I think her English is good enough, but I don't want to take any chances.

On the interview letter it says to arrange interpreter available over the phone.

That's all I would need, just to rephrase the questions if she would be confused by them.

    Thanks all for your suggestions.

During my wife's and daughter's interviews in 2018, I was able to rephrase questions in English to help my wife understand.  My wife interpreted for her daughter who was 8 years old at the time.  Prepare yourself by reviewing the list of "yes / no" questions on the application.  At my wife's interview, he rephrased some questions so the answer would be opposite of what was on the form.  Be prepared to talk about your married life and you will be fine.

    Good Luck - Jason

I get a 12-month, multi entry visa directly from the embassy in Washington DC.  I send my passport by usps priority with a prepaid priority return envelope.  Takes less than a week to get my passport and visa back.

You can request the visa for a future date.  I get mine a few months in advance.  The application will ask what your entry date is expected to be.

Once I figured out how USCIS reorganized everything, I was able to reuse almost everything.  We just sent it back to the Texas lockbox - with the correct i-751 edition from the USCIS website.  So, we're still August filers and hopefully will have a receipt text and NOA soon!

A couple interesting observations about what was sent back to me . . . we organized everything with paperclips and binder clips.  All of those were removed and what we sent was stapled with big (inch long) staples in 3 piles.  The first pile was the application and tax transcripts.  They purposely had to assemble these together as we did not include the transcripts directly after the application.  The other two piles were just randomly separated and stapled.  I say randomly because part of an  electric bill was at the end of one pile and the other part began the next pile.

Also, the staples were not done neatly in the corner, they were about 3 inches down the pages and in the center and off-center.  One pile was stapled 3 times.  I had to use pliers to get these staples out., so I don't expect anyone at USCIS would be going through these piles page by page to examine them closely.  They also cut out and included the FedEx box label in a plastic bag as well as the folder and sticky label we put the entire application and evidence into like they were part of a police investigation!

My wife's resubmitted application was delivered to the Texas lockbox this morning.  Now, we wait to see if it will get processed in Texas or forwarded to Arizona.  Hoping the check will be cashed and we get a text by the end of next week.
