TarKenkari got a reaction from Soloenta in N-400 case denied -- can you help me?
I had the exact same issue. Happened two weeks ago. I was given the choice of withdraw my application or get it declined. They apologized and recommended that I reach out and request a refund due to a technology issue.

Now just waiting for the withdrawal to be processed so I can reapply.

TarKenkari got a reaction from Skyman in N400 Online portal - WATCH OUT for filing dates
I used the USCIS calculator in the N400 online application and it did not raise any errors about the date.

The online application checks your dates and tells you if your window has not been reached yet. If you’re not in the window then you are blocked from submitting your N400.

The defect on the N400 application is it checked against 3 months not 90 days.

TarKenkari got a reaction from Skyman in N400 Online portal - WATCH OUT for filing dates
I'm married to a USC and started the process to get naturalized.

I submitted my N400 online via USCIS, the portal told me I met the residency duration requirements (3 years), you can apply 3 months prior to the 3 year mark (they call it a grace period). The portal verifies this and blocks you from submitting if you don't meet this time requirement.

I attended my interview today and it went great, got all the civics questions right, breezed through all the questions. But hit a snag at the end of the interview. My filing date was too early by THREE days.

Turns out that its not 3 months, its 90 days, so for months with 31 days you have to wait a few days longer before you file. The USCIS website checks for MONTHS not DAYS, so it let me submit the N400 before I should have been able to.

I am over the 3 year mark now (it was back in June) but because my filing date was too early, my N400 was invalid. I was given the choice of withdraw my application or have it declined. Filing fee wasted, start again.

Not a good day. Now I need to wait for the withdrawal to be processed and then I can apply again. (and wait another 8 months)

TarKenkari got a reaction from Kk90 in Intent to re-establish domicile
    Hi all,

I'm a New Zealander with a US Citizen wife. We met in New Zealand, got married and lived together in NZ for the last 8 years.
We have a pending I-130 and I am starting to think ahead to the NVC and Consulate Interview. One of the requirements is that my wife must prove domicile, with her being in NZ for the last 10 years this is difficult. From what i can read online, if she can prove "intent to reestablish domicile" then this would be sufficient.

Does anybody have suggestions on what steps can be taken to show this intent?

TarKenkari got a reaction from bird&bear in NZ police certificate for NVC Processing
We did this once we had the NVC number, be aware though, the police certificate is sent straight to the consulate and expires after 3 months. You only need it for your interview.

I included an email trail with my NVC pack showing that I had requested the police check. A note explaining that the police check gets sent directly to the consulate should be sufficient.

Please could someone offer any advice on completing question 12 in part 4 - we do not have an address in the USA yet where I (the beneficiary) intend to live..as my husband (USC) lives here in NZ.  He is planning to reestablish a domicile but we do not have a US address yet.  Im not sure we are able to leave the question blank..if I put “same” as the form states then that will be my address here in NZ not a US address. Has anyone here on this forum struggled with this question and completed it successfully?

I got the forms from Remuera medical, you are right, there are a few more forms to fill in.

I also got an email from the Auckland Consulate, mostly a rehash of stuff I already knew, some different things though, they want
    * Passport photos in NZ size (not US size)
    * A copy of my resume
    * A self addressed A4/Foolscap courier bag (signature)

Getting plenty of experience filling in forms :/

You have to get the forms online. Its in a PDF of instructions. The last page is a medical form that you take to the appointment (along with the interview letter, your passport, vaccination records and some passport photos)

    See attached.

Ive emailed Remuera Medical to make an appointment, awaiting a response.

IR-1 visa. (Spouse of a US Citizen)

My case complete was 1 Feb. Got the email a few days later (8th feb) We got the same message "in the queue waiting for an appointment"

From what I have read, the NVC schedules appointments at the end of the month, so hopefully there might be some progress end of feb.

They didnt get NZ police cert so I have to make another request. But he said, everything is in order and as long as I have no record then i should expect to receive the passport in the mail with the visa stamped. Til then I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Hehehe.

    Another Kiwi

Good luck, hopefully its faster than my experience. I've been married to a US Citizen for 9 years and we are currently trying to immigrate from NZ to the US. We are at 390 days since we sent in our initial petition and still have another 30-45 days left.

Others will be able to give you advice on the K1 visa process but don't be surprised if there is a decent wait. Unsure if you will be able to stay in the US once your 8 days are up.

Be patient, read everything 100 times to make sure you understand it correctly and make use of VisaJourney.

An alternative would be to bring your girlfriend/fiance to NZ and then apply for the Visas from here. I have had friends that did that so they could stay together throughout the process.

    Good luck!

I’m in NZ at the moment currrntly waiting for my K1 to be approved. It’s a long wait but seems to be speeding up slowly. I’m at 108 days waiting but people are in their 200 days. Average seems to be about 170 day wait at the moment.

When did NVC deemed your case complete? I got an email on the 10th Feb saying I am in the queue waiting for an appointment. You?

I havent received my NOA 1 yet, but it’s only been 5 days since my petition was received, so I’m thinking I have a few more weeks until I receive it. I’m really hoping for Texas or Vermont! They seem to be the quickest
