after being on AP for almost 7 month our case status changed from AP to ready, any idea what is this mean?

I was told by the embassy support agent that the date update ONLY when someone enter notes or doing something with the case. I even mentioned maybe when I contact them or when they respond and she said no.

It automatically changed when they open the file.

They could come over anytime, day or night. It wouldn't bother me at all.😊

Yes, I have read others posting about home visits.  It means they were suspicious about a bonafide relationship and wanted to verify that your husband was truly divorced from his ex-wife and not still living together.  As long as everything checked out  good, it should result in an approval.  AP can take weeks, months, even years sometimes.  If you have a way (email or phone) to contact the embassy and inquire you can do so.  But in the end you just have to wait, try to be patient, and let them finish their processing.

Keep emailing them Yasser! We tried calling and werent able to speak to someone directly at the embassy (it was some call center but in Egypt). I see that most of those who are on AP have primarily used email as a way to get in touch with the consulate staff regarding their case.

I think the person is trying to say, consular filing which is when a married couple living in the same country goes directly through the embassy to file for a visa. I don't think that applies to you since you're doing an IR-1.
 
On the other hand, administrative processing is normal for Egyptians. It could be a few days or a few months. There's actually a thread about it in the AP Forum specifically for Egyptians if I recall correctly. Mandatory is just saying that it had to be done, it doesn't denote a special type of AP or anything.

My husband and I went on the interview June 12. The console though us a month also but in the Dominican Republic is a CR1 case. On August 10 the console  show up at his house asking him some  of the questions ask at the day of the interview. They when around the neighborhood asking people if they knew us. The console though him they will notify him by email about there decision. So they when  2 days before the 2 month. I know it frustrating when they tell you a month and it actually takes more then a month. Like you said don't loose hope. I'm older then my husband by 10 years but who cares. As long as there love that, that's all that matters.

That's a very valuable infos, maybe he likes to do some checks before his final decision always , but still we only have to wait which is so frustrating.. thanks a lot for ur infos and wishing u the best with u and ur husband . Pls inform me if there's an update and I'll do so too

Hello, but how long though? This is so frustrating.

AP can take a long time so in those circumstances the Passport is often returned, depends on the Consulate.

My husband told me that the console was very hard on him, but my husband answered every question that were asked of him. The console asked him the same question twice but in different ways. I think the interview went well for him. Because if he wanted to deny my husband he would have done so at his interview. He gave my husband a white paper and he only put an X on Administrative processing. He told my husband that he is not approve nor denied and they would contact him in a month but we have not heard of anything as of yet. The console did Not put an X next to his passport I mistakenly said the first time. The console gave my husband back his passport which in my opinion I don't think is a bad thing like some people have said because I have read on VJ that this has happen to some people on here where they sent in their passport on a later date. So I have hope,faith and I trust God and he is in control. Was the console that interviewed you a very young man like in his 30's.. Window.. I think 14 or 15.?

Actually I still can't understand how does the AP work but I'm sure it's a nightmare for us! 
I will pray a lot for all people who are on AP and may Allah accept our prayers!

My husband has his interview in Cairo on September 1st which will be tonight my time. Cairo is notorious for lengthy AP and I'm wondering what happens if we get AP and it ends up going long enough that we are married two years. Our two year anniversary is this upcoming Christmas. Will we still get the CR1 or does it change to IR1?

Finally got word for my husband's interview date! Our file was complete at the NVC March 13, 2014 and just got our interview date for September 1, 2014 at 7:30am! We are both ecstatic but also nervous about what's ahead. We are praying for a good outcome

So perhaps, after all, not a false decision. Just one not in his favor. You can't sue USCIS on that basis.

I just got off the phone with NVC my husband has an interview scheduled for July 6, 2017 so happy. 😊❤ It only took a month and 4 days after case completed. April 28, 2017
