    At the CFO, there is potentially a long list of documents they may require at their discretion too.  Make sure she brings all of them.

    Then on Monday first thing, if there is no appointment online to go to the CFO, be both of you be properly dressed (check their FB page for their  their dress code they just published), and be extremely polite and professional at all times, not rude or raise your voice, but yet beg, plead, cry, and stand firm  for an appointment that same day explaining the VISA will expire, non-refundable plane tickets, ... maybe bring a friend from the Manila times or have higher up contacts as a backup plan  to further encourage them ...  You want to do everything you can not to let that VISA expire ...

    Good luck, let us know what happens ...

    It’s not in any way related to the U.S. visa process.   It’s 100% Philippines.

    RO_AH reacted to J.M. in Philippines Immunization Record? Additional Vaccines?
    Providing an immunization record keeps you from getting unneeded (duplicate) immunizations.  Not having one just means she will get all required immunizations.  Not many provide a record.  It is no big deal if she does not have one.

    All shots required for US entry will be given during medical.  There is no point in getting them before the medical exam.

    For "failing" the chest x-ray, the result is that you undergo sputum testing.  Sputum is collected for 3 days and then cultured.  That is what the 2-month delay is about.  If the culture comes back negative, you can complete the medical exam at that point.  That is usually the end of it.  If, however, the culture comes back positive, that is when treatment would start.  TB treatment would be under direct physician care, with the medication and duration determined by the doctor, typically around 6 months.

    There is nothing "preventable" about the chest x-ray.  SLEC looks at it and makes the decision.  All you can do is hope you aren't flagged.

    I'm not sure what your question is or the details of your situation.  ROM would only exist if you either got married in the Philippines or registered your marriage that occurred abroad in the Philippines.  Registering it takes some effort, so I would think you would be aware if your ex registered it.  If neither of those happened, then PSA will have no record of your marriage.  CFO would only want to see your divorce decree.

    From my years of being on this forum, this is just not the case. Very rarely do they say the exact reason, especially when it comes to bonafides of the relationship. They keep it extremely vague.

    Unfortunately, case being returned means the case has been denied. There are no appeals available for K1 visas. HCMC is a very tough consulate, I’ve read many denials posts specifically for HCMC over the years on this forum. You need to spend significant amount of time together and I recommend going the CR1 route instead of you plan to refile.

    RO_AH reacted to top_secret in CFO Course - What documents are typically asked for?
    Those were from the rona era when CFO was trying to make themselves the gatekeeper for anyone trying to leave the country.  Those requirements were asked from some trying to visit their overseas boyfriend during the rona lockdowns etc.  It never did apply to fiancées or spouses. Though CFO is known to make up some crazy requirements from time to time.

    My fiancée went through CFO in Cebu Jan 15th.  It was a breeze for her.  I've never heard of anyone providing the documents you listed, but CFO is a crapshoot, so you really never know what they might ask for.  Take everything that you took to the interview, and you should be fine.  I didn't ask her what specific documents they asked for, but none were anything she didn't already have for her interview, and definitely nothing that was notarized by a Philippine Consulate.  She started at 2pm and was finished at 4pm with digital certificate already emailed to her.

    They have a location for all of that. These forums. Every pitfall you can come across has been posted here. The problem is if you only come here when you have a problem and make a post, you will not know the abundance of the information here. I started frequenting these forums when I first had the thought of pursuing a visa for my wife. I came here every day or 2 during the entire process.

    WoW, that's even faster than what I was expecting. Thank you so much for sharing. CFO info is one of those things that rarely get any reviews or attention. Cebu, like Davao seems to have the same number of U.S. seminars per week. Looks like I will have to tell Gly she was right and I was wrong, lol. She loves when that happens, lol.

    We just did CFO in Cebu on Monday.  Appointment slots were available every day.  2pm start time, finished at 4pm, with certificate already delivered by email.  It was shockingly efficient!  Only 4 people attended- 2 K1 and 2 CR1. I agree that you should probably check whichever one is most convenient before trying other locations.

    From recent reports it seems like CFO has got beyond the total scheduling meltdown they were having last summer and appointments are now generally available in the immediate short term future at all locations once someone has the actual visa on hand.  I would probably agree with you that more seminars means more opportunities for appointments in Manila but I would make the decision based on which location is most convenient since I doubt there would be more than a few days difference either way.

    It's 6 months (maximum) from the visa medical date, not the visa issuance date.  This rule applies to all immigrant (and K1) visas, regardless of visa category and issuing consulate.

    The staff at SLEC should have advised you about the expiry date of your medical, maybe in one of the papers you signed or received.  I got a green paper from SLEC listing the medical expiry date.  My visa was valid for only 1.5 months when it was issued, as my interview was re-scheduled to around 4 months after my medical.

    Your visa expiry is tied up to your medical expiration, so whatever the expiration of the medical is the validity of your visa.

    Sadly that also includes this forum.

    Every LCR is different. Find out exactly what you need. Also they should be able to tell you how to get it. If they only want one from the embassy, you will need to go to the embassy. I flew into Manila in the evening. Stayed in a hotel across the street from the embassy, went there and got affidavit in the morning, then went off to my wife's place.

    During the rona situation the Philippine government decreed that ANY notary could notarize an Affidavit of Legal Capacity To Marry.  Later when the President issued a general decree that rona rules were in general rescinded, some LCR's started requiring them to be notarized by the embassy again.  Later still, there was some kind of ruling that any notary is still OK.  Leading to today where different LCRO's may be making their own rules and the rules may not be consistent.  So.  US Embassy Manila has a sample Affidavit of Legal Capacity To Marry here https://uploads.mwp.mprod.getusinfo.com/uploads/sites/24/2022/04/Sample-Generic-Affidavit.pdf .   According to most, it should be valid if notarized by ANY notary.  Unless the LCRO says it its not.  If that was the case it still needs notarized by the embassy.  It is the Philippines.  YMMV.

    For anyone within reach who's interested, a full-sized Filipino supermarket is now open in the Houston area.  Here's a nice report from a news station:
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    An inside look:  Texas' first Seafood City Supermarket opens in Sugar Land
    The supermarket specializing in Filipino foods is the first Seafood City to open in the state of Texas.
    This is not a mom and pop sized store, this is a 50,000 square foot store with a Filipino specialty bakery and a Filipino Bar-B-Que restaurant located inside.
    Seafood City Supermarket, first founded in San Diego in 1989 has quickly grown to 32 stores nationwide and the stores that are being opened are being strategically located in communities with the largest populations of Filipino-Americans.
    "Seafood City brings a sense of Filipino home to the Houston area.  It's a place where you can find products and ingredients specifically for Filipino dishes," said Meg Austria, store manager.  [...]
