Just had my interview at San Francisco and was approved! My status online is now "New Card is Being Produced" ☺

The interview was around 30 minutes and was asked about certain dates in our relationship, how we met, and clarified some information. The officer updated some information on my i485 form and took some of our recent pictures. At the end of the interview I was handed a letter that said my case is "under review" but my status online updated 2 hours after.

No you are not required to be at (and will not be allowed to join) the interview... you can accompany him or her as emotional support---but that's as far as it goes.

Print out their terms and conditions.

Also, if you can write to their customer support if they can provide you a statement that they are not a marriage broker site.

I did this with my application but I met my (now) spouse on OkCupid instead of Tinder. There was no issue when I sent those as proof.

The confirmatory test after a positive tb skin test is a chest xray or a sputum test. I don't think there is a blood test.

I did not come to the US because of an "American Dream". Honestly I think it doesn't even exist anymore with the current economy, healthcare, and the government. The sole reason I came here is to be with my then fiance (now husband). I was already living the dream before as an expat--I had a stable job, more than average wage, and living in a country just 4 hours from my home country.

There are other countries that have better economies, benefits, and foreigner-friendly cultures in my opinion.

Yes, this question on the Affidavit of Support form should be the name of your fiance(e). Since you submitted the I-129F to USCIS.
Write the name of your fiance and the date when the petition was received (the NOA1 date)

EDIT: Also, don't forget to put "intend" on item #38 about whether you intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person. Then for the last page (8 of 8) for item 3a., 3b., 3c., put 4, 3, 38 respectively and for 3d. "N/A (K1 visa process for permanent residency)"

For us, what we did was just put N/A on the Last name portion and left the rest blank. I mean, it basically already implies that everything that follows for that part is N/A already.

We lived at my husband's grandmother's house. She converted her garage into a tiny house for us. We help her pay for electricity, water, and internet. We're saving up to buy a condo which we hope to get by the end of the year. His family is very supportive and very welcoming. Most importantly, my husband made sure to prepare for my arrival so my transition here went very smoothly. Also, we are in California. Lots of immigrants here so I did not feel out of place at all.

Just curious...why did you have a hard time getting a Social Security card? I was able to get one as soon as my I-94 was available at the CBP website. I was able to get one in 2 weeks. You can substitute the driver's license for a state ID so it's not really a requirement to learn how to drive before you can get an ID. It's very easy, as long as you knew far ahead what you needed to prepare for.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience when you moved here. Hope you get back on your feet and find a good place to stay.
