    Hey y'all,

    I was going to let everyone know how my interview went. We got there at 12:45 and were the first ones to be allowed inside. We waited in the room and got called in by this gentleman. Before taking a seat we had to take the oath. He asked for my SSN, combo card, passport, my husbands DL and his passport. He made some copies. Took a picture or something. He then proceeded to ask questions about my I485, I had to tell him my name, date of birth, current and previous address, SSN (only knew the last 4 digits) lol, parents name and date of birth, their address and my husbands full name and date of birth. He then started going over the questions from page 11 to 14?.

    After that he wanted to know how we had met, when we met irl, when we began our romantic relationship, our first date, relationship with his parents and my parents. He asked my husband where he works, asked when he decided to propose to me and when we decided to do the K1. We talked about our case taking long and he asked why I thought it took long and I gave my explanation because we didn't file the right paperwork about my husbands juvenile case and got an intent to deny.

    He was very friendly and made a conversation, he also asked when I had came down and I gave him all my dates, he asked if my diploma would carry over and if id be able to use it.

    At the end he asked for our shared bills and I was lucky since I copied them this morning, gave that to him. He asked if we are being pushed by family yet to have children. We said that my husbands mom wants to be a grandma but we will wait lol.

    He said he would approve me today and id get my green card in 2 weeks. Told me about the removal of conditions, naturalisation and what to do for that.

    Our case was transferred to Vermont. My husband had something when he was a juvenile and its completely gone now. We filed without an attorney and we filed in 2016. Shortly after it got transferred to Vermont and we didn't hear anything until April of 2018, my husband had to go in for biometrics due to that. He went and in December 2018 we got an Intent to Deny because it was unclear if it was AWA. We had to provide them with all of the documents, documents from family saying there is no risk and such. We went to the KBI to get his record, he took finger prints and it came back as this person has NO criminal record. In July of 2019 we finally heard it was approved but I think ours was different because he was not under AWA and it doesn't show up anymore when asking for records. He was also a juvenile so "lucky" in that way.
    For us, there was nothing because we simply didn't file the right forms/ right explanation or anything, we just added the forms from his PO and not even all of them. But I would highly suggest in your case to do this with an attorney. It's expensive but we waited about 3 years for my K1 to get approved.

    If you are really AWA its probably going to be a long and expensive process.

    As @Villanelle said, she needs to know everything. I had to tell exactly what did happen at my K1 interview. I knew everything and read everything since I was visiting during the Intent to Deny but they will ask.

    Hello everyone! An update- we had our AOS interview this morning. We arrived about 15 minutes before our appointment time, went through security and was called in shortly. We took an oath and afterwards, the officer asked my husband a few questions from the i-485 form. He then asked us a few questions about how we met and when we met each other's families. We then gave documents with both our names on it (lease, bank statements, utility bills, health insurance), a letter from my employer + pay stubs, last tax return, photos from the last few months and wedding contracts (we had a small legal ceremony when he moved and are planning our wedding now). He was happy with the documents, said he didn't have any doubts about our application/ relationship and that he will approve us on the spot. He took my husband's passport and after 15 minutes, returned it to us with a stamp in it. He said he stamped it so he could start working right away (our ead hasn't been approved yet). He said the green card will be coming in the mail shortly. All in all, a really pleasant experience!

    Hey y'all, I have my interview upcoming Thursday and wanted to show what I prepared for my interview.
    Maybe anyone has tips or finds the way I organised everything useful for them!

    I got this organizer from amazon and find it very useful!;
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072J873DF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    I made a cover letter with the order of documents in this organizer. Basically I added the following documents to the organizer;
    - Interview invitation
    - AOS NOA's
    - I129 package, NOAS and Intent to Deny
    - AOS package
    - Affidavit of support with RFE and extra recent paystubs
    - Shared bank account and bills together
    - Birth certificate of me and my husband
    - Copy of his passport + original passport
    - Extra documents
    - 2 Facebook posts and wedding pictures, I added wedding pictures in ziplock bag because I want to use them again in the house

    The red organizer is from when I went to my K1 interview and has all our past pictures, chats, flight plans and everything. I added new pictures to it since they didn't look at it during my K1 interview and I didn't want to throw away all of my hard work 🤣

    When you put your personal life in a public forum you have to be prepared for a full range of comments - those who are on your side, those who aren’t, and everything else in between. If that’s something you don’t want to happen, then public forums are not the right platform.

    You will need official documentation from your child’s biological father that he approves of them being removed from the country permanently. Unless you already have a court order granting you full and complete custody and/or he has officially relinquished his parental rights. Your children have a right to a relationship with their father and he has a right to a relationship with his children, regardless of what you think of him. You will have to demonstrate this as part of the process. So my question on his feelings about this matter is most definitely a valid one - in fact one of the most important aspect of your case, especially given the behavior of the man you have chosen as their step-father.

    And from personal experience, children raised in a house where there is a toxic marriage will suffer. I wouldn’t wish what I experienced as a child on anyone. Seriously, your children deserve so much better. So do you.

    you put words in my mouth and I dont like that.
    I never left a word how hes treating my children nor did I say how he does blackmail, so you should be careful of how you chose your words.
