Great news! Just received an email that my case has been approved!!
 
 
 

I tried to expedite I-131 through Ombudsman last week. They replied to me within a few days. Then 2 days later, they sent me an update that the case is under active eview. Does that mean the expediting process was approved?
 
The email says this:
Thank you for your request for case assistance.  In response to our inquiry, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) indicated that your case is under active review, and it anticipates issuing correspondence within 15 days.  Our office will continue to monitor USCIS’ progress on a regular basis until there is a specific action or resolution.  We will contact you as soon as we receive an update from USCIS.

They may have different interpretations of what qualifies as it is a judgement call, but doesn’t mean somebody who denies an expedite is uptight. They just reached a different decision.

No. It means that your application  is currently being reviewed and that the USCIS and that they expect to make a decision within 15 days

Your actions are the reason it is getting more and more difficult to get visas. If you come here on a student visa and quit school, you should go home. Overstaying is against the law. I wouldn't do that in your country because I respect your laws. I have met many Vietnamese college students that don't care about the degree - they just want to get married and stay in the U.S. Many students (and former students) work illegally in nail salons and restaurants, often exploited for labor and other things. I wish you the best, but it angers me that foreign students so nonchalantly toss their visas and overstay - never receiving the degree they claimed they wanted. It can't last.

Wow! We finally got approval! For all who applied at CSC we applied in April last year and just got approval letter! They are coming through STAY BLESSED EVERYONE ! 16 months almost to the day!

Guys, I didn't apply for a passport at the ceremony because I didn't have time to take a picture before hand - I also didn't have the time to wait in line there as the line was huge. Either way - just wanted to share that my regular (non rushed) application at the post office that I did July 21st, shipped out today August 3rd. Regular processing took 13 days. I didn't have to spend the time in line, I didn't have to pay the $60 for expedited service and I took my picture with my iphone at home - then used https://www.idphoto4you.com/ to create the passport photo file. Cost like $1 at walgreens instead of $15 if you go and take a passport photo there.

Sorry about that. As it is, probably you need to be thinking more about the N 400 approval than the Oath. Since they're scheduling interviews relatively faster, you might receive a letter in the next month or two (assuming that the note the officer wrote asks for quick rescheduling due to the situation). The oat will be right after (I have read that for some people, as long as the interview is in the morning, could attend the oath ceremony the same day). Good luck!

I had my oat ceremony last Friday 07/27/2018 and finally I became a US Citizen yaaaaaaaaaaaiii... (please someone help me updating the time line, I feel if  I do it will mess it up)
 
Like a note for everybody (I'm not sure if somebody already said it but anyways) once you get your certificate made good quality copies of it, get your SSN and Driver license updated. I already went to get my passport done and with all the fees (got it expedited) I paid $270 and it will be mailed to my house in about 2-3 weeks. They took my original certificate, I send it with the paperwork in a sheet protector because I read on a blog that they stamp it with the rest of the documents and I didn't want them to make holes in such important document.

Ok, but you're the applicant correct?  That's all that matters for N-400 purposes and it sounds like the IO determined that you were no longer resident in her jurisdiction so she didn't have the authority to approve the case.  The good news is that you've already satisfied the 3 month qualification period to establish residence with the new field office so are eligible to be interviewed/approved there, the bad news is that address changes aren't optional (this stops people jurisdiction shopping) so that may impact how quickly your new field office responds.  Your best bet is to probably make an Infopass appointment at your new office and ask them how they treat such cases - I'd be surprised if they don't want to interview as they typically want to verify addresses with jurisdiction changes, but you may get lucky and be approved without a further interview.

I finally had my joint interview for the pending I-751 and N400 and was approved on the spot on 7/09/18, My I-751 changed to approved on 07/20/18 and was placed in line for oath ceremony on 07/20/18. i have new updates, my N400 was approved today (24h after ROC approval). Now I'm waiting to get the letter with the oath ceremony date. 

Hi, just a quick update. I did my combo interview 6/19/18. Took my spouse with me, but the officer said they don’t need him to go in with me.
The worst that could have happened, happened. I forgot my green card and my marriage certificate at home. This is why women should not change out purses often!!! Luckily, I had my sister bring my green card to us since we lived an hour away! The officer said if I had submitted my marriage certificate twice in the past (I-485/I-130 and I-751) with my application package, then he’ll look through the file and that I won’t need to mail it in separately. We began with the standard procedures like swearing to tell the truth and then did the history test. He didn’t ask me anything about marriage nor for evidence. I offered my 3 years tax returns and new leasing agreement, which he was like “sure, I’ll go make a copy”. He did subtly asked me if my spouse had been to my country and I said yes and talked about our time there with my family and hope to visit again soon once all this is finalized. At the end of the interview, the officer gave me a piece of paper that said that I passed the test, but they can’t make a decision right now. I apologized for my lack of preparation. The officer was friendly and said he is only concerned about my date of eligibility since I’m applying under the 3-year basis. Which I told him it’s going on 4 years since I became a PR. Anyway, he told me they will communicate their decision via mail and to wait 1-2 weeks (Liessss! Haha). Here we are, 4 weeks later. Waiting. Minus the Independence holiday, ok... :/
On 7/16/18, I got the congratulations for approval to remove conditions. Half excited that something is moving, but since applying for N-400, I’ve just been focused on that. I guess this I-751 chapter of my journey is finally closed and just waiting for my new card in mail.
Hope ya’ll are doing well! One more step to go! And congrats to those who became citizen!

FYI for anyone like me, going in to a N-400 interview with a pending ROC, I received this letter from my local USCIS office today. So from the looks of it, I think my I-751 is also at my local office and I will hopefully have them both decided on the same day.

I feel how fast the process goes all depends on the location and state you at, if you at a state and region that got fewer immigrants applying for various kind of immigration benefits then your application will go fast. Personally i am not moved by what the world says but i am only moved by what my maker decides for my case and situation, all we have to do is keep praying and hoping cos when we have hope we will overcome. 
I applied for my N-400 in April and i have been called for interview for the N-400 and also my I-751 was transfered to my local office and i never knew about that but was aware when i called USCIS.  So keep the faith and hope going everyone in this ship we all aboard.

View your letter on your documents tab for the ceremony date, time, and location
Note: It may take up to a few days for your letter to show on your documents tab.
You will take the Oath of Allegiance and receive your Certificate of Naturalization at your ceremony. You will also return your Green Card and answer questions about your activity since your interview.
You will also have the opportunity to apply for a U.S. Passport/Passport Card, register to vote, and update your Social Security record.

I guess I will bring my old green card since I still only have that? lol Also I do not see the interview notice in my documents tab... I will wait a bit and will prob get updated tho
 
(I am hoping the service request I put online for my roc which said I will have answer by 26th wont mess up with my oath ceremony interview, but it prob can't right?)
