So, I helped a family member filed I-131 on July 3 and I also requested for an expedite along with the application. I haven't been scheduled for a biometrics yet. Anyway, a week later, I received this text and email... and my status changed to that...it says...

 

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case:
Receipt Number: LIN1990********
Application Type: I131, APPLICATION FOR TRAVEL DOCUMENT
Your Case Status: Decision
On August 7, 2019, we denied your request for expedite processing of your Form I131, APPLICATION FOR TRAVEL DOCUMENT, Receipt Number LIN1990******. You did not provide evidence of an extreme emergent need. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

 

Does that mean the whole application is denied? Or will I still get a biometrics appointment later?

Thanks for your help. I'm so anxious..

Agree.  Sounds like they denied only the expedite......

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Only the expedite was denied. The application remains pending.

The problem is since biometrics is automatically scheduled, I'm just worried that because the status changed to "Decision: denied" I won't be scheduled for biometrics anymore...

What I'm worrying about right now is.... since biometrics is automatically scheduled, I'm just worried that because the status changed to "Decision: denied" the system might think I won't need a biometrics anymore and won't schedule me for one... Is there anything I should do?

Just an update for anyone who is in the same situation as me...

 

I just called USCIS an hour ago and talked to the Tier 2 officer and found out the biometrics has already been scheduled for Sep 3, 2019 and he said I could call back 5 days before the appointment if I still have not received the notice and he would fax or email it to me. I assumed it has been sent last Friday.

 

Thanks everyone who answered my questions... I guess i was just being paranoid.
