Before stating someone has made a violations....consider that perhaps consent was given to OP when he was filing I-129 for use as proof of meeting, and she has not revoked the permission as of yet.

My husband had his AOS interview yesterday, and was approved! We were there only about 10 minutes, and prepared a bag full of documents, but wasn’t asked for anything! So thankful to be done with this process for a couple of years!

    Good of luck to everyone!

Honestly, dreading it was the worst part! But, no one could’ve convinced me of that beforehand! Good luck next week!!

Woot woot, received our biometrics appointment letter today. No emails/texts or update on the USCIS website. Hubby is so excited, he's tired of being home and not working so he's looking forward to getting his EAD....I am too, it's very expensive supporting 2 people on 1 income.

It can always change. Your date may end up being sooner or later than the estimated date on here. It could be spot on. Remember, that date is based on what other VJ members are posting to their timelines.

For a marriage of only 8 months she would be lucky to get anything of your assets or property in most states.  She has obviously been coached.  I would avoid being alone with her in any place.  Change the locks , divorce and run pull the affidavit of support.

K3 is obsolete, for all intents and purposes it no longer exists. CR1 is the option they want. Even if they applied for K3, it would get denied and automatically converted to a CR1.

I wouldn't stress out too much as of yet. There were two different Chicago addresses people could send their packages depending on the delivery service they choose (I was wondering which would be the more direct one when I sent in my package this time). I also remember feeling like I was always a step behind everyone during the I-129 K1 process. Also its summer time, many employees take vacations over the summer. If your packet is in a pile with someone who is spending the week at the beach with their family, it will be a little longer.

liefde_overzee reacted to Coco8 in US Immigration Issue for K-1 Visa- Need Advice
No, that is wrong. Her visa (fiance or spousal) will take the same time as it takes for everyone. That lawyer is either dumb or was trying to take money from you. All this happened before entering the US and they just voided her authorization to visit with visa waiver.

A visitor visa will likely get denied because (1) Her participation in the visa waiver program got denied (2) Visitor visa for people in the visa waiver program usually gets denied.

Be careful with that contract. Some people mention those types of things and the consulate says you are too married for a fiance visa. Do not mention this to be a "religious marriage contract". In any case, say "engagement celebration". There are plenty of people who had the fiance visa denied because of that at the consulate stage.

K1 takes 6-8 months but it costs a lot more and when she gets into the US she won't be able to work for 3-4 months.

Spousal visa takes 12-14 months. It is cheaper and she can work as soon as she gets into the US.

I'm sorry you haven't heard anything yet. It's so frustrating when you have no control and have no idea what's going on.

I've also read it's not a problem sending two separate checks. In fact, I was nervous about sending one...afraid the particular person reviewing my file wouldn't realize I combined payments (even though I noted it on my cover letter). It's easy to get paranoid about those things when it comes to immigration! Lol!!

I'm hoping you will get some good news this week! Keep us posted!

We received our NOA1's for I-485, EAD, & AP by text and email around 11:30 pm (CST). I was really surprised to be getting something from them on a Sunday night, but excited!

No, traveling within the US should not cause a delay or any problems.

As frustrating as it is, the unknown and waiting are all part of the process. I empathize with you because I was in hose shoes this time last year. I hope you hear something soon! Best of luck!

We mailed our AOS packet Monday, and used the new form. It was frustrating not being able to type K1. I chose to spell it out (K one), but suppose I could've just as easily have handwritten that part in.

    Good luck all!

It is not legal under federal law immigration is federal. You're embarrassed people get denied for breaking USA federal law? Luckily, they do give the beneficiary a second chance.
