  1. You are a Green Card holder... You will be fine. Have a happy and safe trip.
  2. The email, to me, implies the case was placed on hold. The fact that it came days after the initial receipt also implies that. There is not much you can do at this point other than monitoring. As long as the CEAC status remains "at NVC", you are fine. Just contact them within 12 months to maintain hold status. Good Luck.
  3. Green Card holders being detained? Have you seen any cases like that here on VJ? I have not.
  4. I-485 is used ONLY for people already inside the US. Are you inside or outside the US right now?
  5. ***Duplicate/Similar topics merged. ******Do not restart this topic in a new thread. Keep related questions under this thread****
  6. Extremely common. Go prepared for both interviews. Wife and I had a combo interview in Dec 2022.
  7. I think there is certainly a chance for a B2. We have seen seemingly doubtful cases approved. Hopefully, she will get a CO who is in a good mood that day.
  8. Consummation, in USCIS terms, means being in the same location either during or after a marriage ceremony.
  9. Depending on your current legal status in the US, I might be inclined to wait for a correct copy since having an inaccurate document is not normally a good idea, imho. If you are out of status, I would certainly send what I have now asap. How long does it take to get a correct marriage certificate?
  10. They also work for those who are together, but want to avoid the complications of some foreign marriage requirements. Even if a couple are physically separated during the Utah online marriage, they must consummate the marriage before USCIS will recognise it.
  11. Our case: I-751 submitted March 2019 Biometrics- May 2019 I-751 approved- December 2022 I think our case was an outlier. Good luck. The I-751 is last difficult hurdle, imo.
  12. Then, she is fine. The visa expiration date was correctly calculated by the consulate......6 months after medical exam. I would not worry about this. Just marry within 90 days.....and I would submit the adjustment of status package within 90 days also. Good luck.
  13. When was her medical exam done? November? If so, the consulate incorrectly calculated the visa expiration date.
  14. As long as she entered before the expiration date on the visa, she is fine. The visa is now voided since she entered. You now have 90 days from the day she entered the US to marry. I would also submit the I-485 and other forms within 90 days also. Edit: Upon further examination, there MIGHT be an issue. See my next comment.
  15. She traveled on A/P from 2008 to 2017? Sounds like you meant after Green Card approval also.
  16. Sometimes, official notices lag behind this notification. Maybe good news is coming in a day or so. Good luck.
  17. Yes, you can. However, it might be much more cumbersome than a few years ago....especially for anyone remaining outside the US for an extensive amount of time. That would be my concern. Besides, the OP has stated he is not planning travel until Green Card is issued.
  18. This is something that I have thought about a lot. It seems to be that this policy could change with the stroke of a pen. But, I haven't seen any indication that will happen, and I'm not sure how they would implement such a change.
  19. My wife's case took 13 months from I-130 submission to spousal visa in hand......but that, as is your case also, irrelevant to the OP's case.
