Here are the only questions they can ask. Are you referring to a question on this list? https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/questions-and-answers/OoC_100_Questions_2008_Civics_Test_V1.pdf -
Official term for "combo interview"?
Crazy Cat replied to EatBulaga's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
Correction: Actually, my wife got the email from the local office 2 days prior to her interview: "USCIS Applicant, This email is in reference to your upcoming interview at the Dallas Field Office, it is for an I751(Petition to Remove Conditions) and N400 (Application for Naturalization) combination. It is imperative that your spouse accompany you to this interview, also that you bring proof of a marital union. Please refer to https://www.uscis.gov/i-751 for examples. We look forward to meeting each you both at your interview in the near future." -
Official term for "combo interview"?
Crazy Cat replied to EatBulaga's topic in US Citizenship General Discussion
I submitted a letter to USCIS (uploaded it with wife's N-400 application) as follows: Wife's Name Address August 7, 2022 US Citizenship & Immigration Services P.O. Box 25920 Overland, KS 66225 Dear USCIS Officer Please consider this letter as an official request for a combination I-751/N-400 interview or waiver of the I-751 interview. We submitted my joint I-751 petition in March of 2019. My biometrics was completed in May of 2019. The status of my I-751, case number MSCXXXXXX has been “Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview” since May 2019. I have received no RFEs or requests of any kind. Sincerely, Wife's Name A few days before wife's interview, I received an email from the local office saying that I was required to be there for a "combination interview". -
Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 3-6 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 3-6 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire K-1 entrant cannot file for citizenship until after having Green Card for 3 years. Once an I-129F has been approved, delaying the case is difficult to impossible if the need arises. CR-1/IR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US. The clock for citizenship filing starts immediately upon entry to the US. A CR-1/IR-1 case can be delayed indefinitely at NVC if the need arises. ***Moved to What Visa Do I Need***

Unable to get SSN as a CR1 visa holder right now
Crazy Cat replied to MTGentleman's topic in Social Security Numbers
I read that automatic mailing cards is paused...not issuing cards for people who go to the SSA office. In addition, Legal Residents are exempt from the pause. Go to another office. -

I-751 April 2023 Filers
Crazy Cat replied to Sarge2155's topic in Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion
After our I-751 had been pending for 40 months, wife submitted her N-400. Four months later, both the I-751 and N-400 were approved during a combo interview. A few weeks later, wife took the citizenship oath. Had she not filed the N-400, we could still be waiting for the I-751. -
This is the process after DQ. You might check other timelines for that consulate. I have never found another way to check the length of the queue at NVC. 1. Case is DQ'd by NVC. 2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC. 3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month. 4. NVC schedules interviews for cases at the front of the line. 5. NVC schedules your interview when your case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate. 6. NVC notifies person of interview date via email. 7. NVC then sends case to consulate. After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

N-400 December 2024 Filers
Crazy Cat replied to OldUser's topic in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
Congratulations!!! Your interview was very similar to our combo interview a couple years ago in Irving. My wife had to wait a few weeks (it was holiday season) for the oath ceremony in Plano, TX......there were 1,000 new citizens taking the oath that day in her ceremony...LOL. -
Many of us did not require an attorney. Others have. Personally, I thought the online N-400 process for my wife was pretty simple.

Back Taxes- As a US citizen (and sponsor of an immigrant), you must have filed taxes in the US for the past 3 years (if your income was above the reporting threshold). As you will be the primary sponsor of your spouse, this is required as supporting evidence for an I-864, Affidavit of Support. If your income was below the filing threshold, you can explain why you were not required to file taxes. Be aware that US citizens must report world-wide income regardless of where you reside and regardless from where the income was earned. Evidence that you intend to establish domicile & relocate to the US- You will have to provide evidence that you either reside or intend to reside in the US. Sufficient income or assets to sponsor a new immigrant- As the primary sponsor of your spouse, you or a Joint Sponsor will have to show evidence that you have sufficient current annual income continuing after relocation to the US or sufficient assets to sponsor a new immigrant. This will be supporting evidence for the I-864, Affidavit of Support.
