  1. I'm sorry to see that your case will be delayed. Hopefully, it is just a simple fix. We hired an attorney to handle our CR-1 case in 2016. Everything went fine until the case got to NVC. Our immigration attorney had not submitted a couple documents which were required there. As a result, our case was at NVC for 24 weeks (instead of the normal 12 weeks at that time). I think your delay might be only a month or so. I hope this turns out to be just a bump in the road for you. Hang in there.

  3. If you live in Texas, the Dallas lockbox is the correct destination for an I-485 package (and I-131, I-765, etc). USCIS Lockbox Filing Locations Chart for Certain Family-Based Forms | USCIS
  4. A CR-1 is a spousal visa. Here is my comparison: Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation. K-1 More expensive than CR-1 Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork) Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 6-8 months) Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 6-8 months) Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed. A K-1 might be a better choice when 18-21 year old children are immigrating also In some situations, marriage can affect certain Home country benefits, making a K-1 a better choice A denied K-1 is sent back to USCIS to expire K-1 entrant cannot file for citizenship until after having Green Card for 3 years. Once an I-129F has been approved, delaying the case is difficult to impossible if the need arises. CR-1/IR-1 Less expensive than K-1 No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required. Spouse can immediately travel outside the US Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport. Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US. The clock for citizenship filing starts immediately upon entry to the US. A CR-1/IR-1 case can be delayed indefinitely at NVC if the need arises.
  5. I don't think Biden is well-meaning at all. He hates half the population, and he has no regrets about purposely opening the border, purposely causing run-away inflation, and purposely waging a war on oil....all which hurt Americans.

  8. Legal residents are eligible for Obama Care.
  9. Technically, he could start the process now. Visiting after starting the process is fine...at the discretion of CBP. If asked questions, you must be truthful whether he has filed the I-129f or not.
  10. OK. Because he has felony convictions.
  11. What does that mean?

  13. The entire spousal visa process is likely to take around 18 months. It could take longer, depending on the backlog at Lagos. As others have said, a visitor visa is unlikely. Even if granted, it would not allow her to stay beyond a few months. Unfortunately, some separation during the process is just a fact of life. My wife and I relied on video conferencing daily, along with a few personal visits. Good luck on your journey.
  14. I would contact AIT and ask them about the CRBA. They were always pretty responsive to me when I contacted them during our journey.
  15. 1. Your address can be updated during the Interview. There are no forms 2. No 3. Nothing to be sent to you by mail.
  16. OMG!!!! USCIS strikes again!!!!
  17. I would not expect his past history to expedite the EAD. You could be looking at 3-8 months before USCIS issues it. Any RFIE for the I-485 would also delay an EAD, Good luck on your journey. It is quite a ride.
  18. I would include bank statements covering the entire period from initial I-751 filing to now showing how common expenses are paid. I would also show a clear paper trail of living at the same address if you have moved. During our combo interview, officer wanted to see evidence of bona fide marriage from initial I-751 to interview date....bank statements, drivers licenses, car insurance, etc.
  19. Yes, it will delay the case as it would trigger an RFE. I would send it with the initial package as there are cases where USCIS didn't get RFE responses.
  20. There is no fee for the I-131 or I-765 if filed with or after a proper I-485 package.
  21. The US spouse must arrive in the US either any time before or at the same time as the immigrant.
  22. 1. Yes. 2. The transcript will be ready in a couple weeks after filing electronically. If not, just take a copy of the 2023 tax rerun instead of a 2023 transcript..
  23. They are available as soon as you have access to your online account.
