  1. Hello. Was there any updates on this? A friend of mine with Ir1/cr1 case sent an embassy change request directly to the embassy she wanted to have the interview. They didn’t accept (not because of workload, since the embassy has no backlogs) and had responded that citizens of this certain country need to get appointments from certain embassies, which was mentioned in the official website. Might it be that they’re not aware of this new update? Would sending another request with a link to this help? https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/update-on-worldwide-visa-operations.html
  2. I see. Thanks a lot. Yeah you're right. I mistook naturalization with citizenship. I didn't know that to become naturalized, the CR must first have an approved removal of conditions. So there's where the hassle comes I guess.
  3. I'm very sorry to ask here and not open a new thread. But since many people commented here for delaying entering and getting a 10 year green card, and that the removal of conditions is a big hassle and can take years, I got confused. Won't the petitioner be able to apply for citizenship after 3 years? So why should they wait years to remove the conditions?
  4. Safe trips. Hope you guys have a good time, and please let us know how things go when you get there. I started reading this forum today and it was very informative. I might be in a similar situation timeline-wise, so it gave me some ideas for my own case.
  5. Apart from the first creating the case and uploading the documents, there won't be much to do in the account, except for checking the status of your case. This checking can be done much simpler using the "casetrack" app which is updated almost instantly if any changes happen. I got notified of my approval from this app.
  6. Congratulations to all the people who got their dq. I've been very sick these last few days, so reading here cheered me up. Hope everyone gets closer and closer to their loved ones.
  7. Thanks. Yes I did, and did it quite fast. After 4 hours the same day, but they gave me the dq the day after.
  8. Hello. I'm very happy to call you all my friends and I thank you for all the good wishes. I got my DQ around two hours ago. The full story is in my timeline. The last part of it is as follows: Aug 19 submitted my documents Oct 17 RFE for sponsor Oct 18 DQ
  9. We uploaded the needed documents again. It took us around four hours. Hope they review it today, as I've heard it happens.
  10. I come with good news for you all, and a bit of bad news for myself. Just minutes ago I got an email from NVC and I thought I was DQd and got so excited. Then I checked the website and I had an RFE. The reason was that my wife's brother-in-law was not qualified as a household member, and we were asked to add him as a separate joint sponsor. This is pretty odd, because we had uploaded their marriage certificate and everything. I know this sucks, but I'm sure won't happen to you guys and wish all of you hear good news soon.
  11. Sure thing. I can imagine... lol I've realized I shouldn't think too much about it.
  12. Yeah, we shall call tomorrow the DQ day lol. I wish you get the good news very soon.
  13. Good for you. The embassy where I've been appointed has a 5 months wait time, but by each step we get closer and that's what matters. Thanks again, I'm waiting for Monday too. No news so far. Will keep you all posted.
