Hi all!
Does anyone know if my husband (beneficiary) and I (U.S. citizen) can briefly visit my family in the U.S. before his interview as long as we provide evidence we still have our home/jobs in the UK? We were DQ’d a couple weeks ago and plan to delay his interview as long as possible but still hope to see my family soon.
Ah okay thank you for the advice! I'm not sure we would be able to take 1-2 months away from work to do this and we would need more than 2 years. We're thinking about staying so I can enroll onto a PhD program. Do you know if we had to withdrawal from the process if it would cause any issues regarding visiting the US and/or going through the process again in the future when we're ready?
As of last week yes but haven't received an interview letter yet.
Is it possible to delay at embassy stage? Both petitioner and beneficiary are in the UK and we're considering staying for a few years now.
Can we delay? Or if we enter briefly once the visa is issued can we then leave and return for visits over the next 3-4 years without abandoning the green card?
The Spanish version of the page is up to date though and it says as of today they are reviewing cases submitted July 28th! This happened a couple months ago too and they updated the English page again within a day or so.
I am a US citizen with FLR(M) too!
My partner and I submitted our i-130 in April 2021 and we're still waiting at the NCV stage. It's looking like he won't be able to enter the US until at least December this year.
Good to know all, thank you!
I included an appraisal, the land registry documents, a letter, and verification from the bank that money from a future sale could be immediately transferred to a US should we need it.
Ohhh I see, good to know!
Yeah I was expecting an RFE regarding the asset more than anything honestly. I wonder if because I put my actual current income they automatically assumed I wanted to use that and didn’t even look at the asset evidence.
