Florida where I am living is good in many ways but pay is not good. Its a kind of poor state😊 with no state income tax which is best, It is a kind of retirement area. Sunny and no 4 season. Wisely decide where to start, am telling if you get a good job in one state your are getting stuck to it. I was thinking to move to Washington State but then I got a City job so I am going to live here until getting retired, lol.

As you both are legal to each countries, why dont you go to Sri Lanka and have a formal wedding in Sri Lanka? With parents, family and friends (and also with a lot of expenses for flowers, pictures, reception, hotels etc 😃..)

Got the extension letter today

My fiance had his interview not long ago and received 221(g) sheet which states ...
 
"We are presently unable to issue you a visa because at this time you have been found ineligible under section 221g of the US Immigration and Nationality Act or regulations issued pursuant thereto. Your application is therefore being held for additional processing. Next steps are as follows:
No further action is currently required on your part. You will be contacted when a final decision has been made or if additional information is required for your case."
 
What exactly does this mean?
 
He said the consular officers (there were two interviewing him - is this normal?) were very rude and condescending. He said that they quickly flipped through our proof of relationship and photos (there were at least 100) and more or less disregarded it all. He said that the CO would ask a question, and that when he was responding, would interrupt him halfway with another question. I feel that they didn't take him seriously, ridiculed him, and generally treated him unfairly. They gave his passport back with the 221(g) sheet. He said that two others interviewed for the K1 were treated similarly.
 
Is our case going to be left to die? I feel so depressed, where do we go from here?

Why don't you call the embassy and get it be cleared by them?

I know how much it is frustrated to wait. But this is common for all. He can call the embassy and ask or you can write inquiring whether they received it. Was it too long from "in transit" status to "ready" status?
In Asiri hospital, ask him to select Dr. Geetha, not Dr. Nimal. She is so quick and for Dr. Nimal I had to wait whole day at the hospital.

Finally they cashed mine today. CSC received it 8/6.
I was not calling them or will not call until they issue my letter.
I have built up a lot of patience in me.
What I realized is that they are busy and I do not want to use their precious time answering our calls.

I am on AP since my interview date 19th May.
I would like to share with others on AP.
They kept my passport and originals.
Gave me a yellow slip 221g asking the tax transcripts for year 2014 & 2015
I have some questions.
Medical is only valid for 6 months and the police clearance for 1 year.
When the time of getting approved do we have to get a fresh medical and a police clearance?
