I've finished all that and gotten all the different police certificate and everything, I just need to have my bf mail me all the financial stuff, but I am not even going to think about that. If the consulate will offer me interview dates before my final date I will just ask them to postpone because I don't have time.
We have always thought education is way more important than anything else so we are on the same page with it all.

It is so interesting to hear how people met, I am guessing most of it was online.

Unfortunately this actually seems to be pretty common. VisaJourney comments are what decided us against using a lawyer.

We just got the NOA2 hard copy, didn't know we would get one of those too.

So? Unless you look at their passport you wont know. Im not even sure their genetic gender matters for a passport or visa?
It's no ones fault but your own of you're unaware of your spouse's or potential spouse's genetic or identifying gender, if it matters. I dont care about culture or religion on this either. It's the 21st century where you can be any gender or sexuality you choose. This should not be an issue for an immigration medical.

So I am not a prude about nakedness and I don't care if the doctor has to check. I just find the whole concept of it all just ridiculous.
It isn't like the doctor is going to call the petitioner and be like "you know he's got a #######/#######? (uhh that was right words for male genitalia / female genitalia) You are on the same page about the genitalia that this person has.OK great."
Also, the passport has the gender on it and why do they need to make sure you are the gender you say you are, does it really change anything with the visa progress? Isn't it technically supposed to be same no matter what gender?
And I find it odd that the Scandinavian countries have stopped (which is good) but not UK.

Like why scars? and the blood test is for the syphilis and why would gender confirmation be something that they need to check?

I assume that part of the exam, visually checking the genitalia, was a requirement when the US wasn't allowing same-sex relationships for immigration purposes. They do that now and as a result, most immigration medical exams around the world don't seem to include that part of the exam anymore. It seems to be the UK and a few other countries still doing it. If you want to know for certain, check your country specific forum here on VJ.

@SnowCone: I think so too, I got my first notice by email at exactly midnight here. So clearly scheduled to send out any queued up notifications at once each day (or at least something similar.)

I don't know what they use in the Iceland but for the Philippines it's given to you on a cd. Never asked for again so most of us have been using it as a drink coaster. It's treated like it's a $265 tool that has a real value of $1.
Usually it's 100% at the interview and 125% at AOS once married. I don't think you are going to fail for a buck or two.

My fiance and I use FB Messenger which is similarly annoying to Google hangouts as far as loading the history. I ended up taking a handful of screen shots from a variety of dates–seems like they wouldn't need to see your entire history. For hangout, I would use the little arrow to bring up the popout window, drag the window as large as you can, and screenshot!

Definitely needs to be said. They did say on the website though that they actually do them in order, it just gets held up (like if they need to run extra checks, send in RFE's) so they put it aside and then start the next one until the information comes in. It was pretty interesting to read about the process and I wish I could remember the link! But I do know that (After doing a looot of paperwork for people) the little things could come up and it doesn't even mean an RFE, just a hold on the forms, so not to expect it to be in order at all.
