The good thing is you got your green card. There is no difference in opportunity 10 years green card can give as against 2 years. The only difference is you get to apply in 2 years times for the 10 years. That is not a big deal. I dont see why you complaining...

People may rush to use harsh words at you, I don't blame them because if any of them ever experience this your situation they would understand. The CO's are professional and we all know they are trained to do what they do but, we all know they are not there to give everyone visa despite the legitimacy of your relationship. they have a quota of how many they can issue every year and they will deny anyone and make up stories. I know how you feel because I have been through that before. The CO's are fond of lying about everyone they denied. We were denied for no reason and later in the memorandum they sent to the USCIS they stated a lot of lies in it and we overcome it so easily because they lied. We even told the USCIS to ask the embassy to furnish them the audio excepts of my interview to confirm all that they said in the NOIR. Just submit your communications, letters from your family and the man family attesting to the legitimacy of your relationship, write a rebuttal letter yourself and address all the points one after the other and state all the answers you gave at the embassy to the USCIS, add every iota of receipt concerning you both, whether is western union, road trip receipts, his boarding passes, cards and gifts you both send each other, if he have you on as beneficiary of any of his benefits including insurance and 401K plan, show them communication that dates back as early as the times you guys met. Give them many pictures. The USCIS is by far better than the embassies in dealing with cases base on facts and materials rather the perceptions and personal opinions. This is not the end of the road, if you allow them to win then is your choice, but I tell you what, if you peruse it by submitting more proofs and documents, you will receive reaffirmation letter.

The embassy sometimes put people on AP for as long as they want.  After my second interview with them on my reaffirmed IR1, I was still kept on AP for 4 months until my medicals was left with 6 weeks to expire that was wen they asked me to submit my passport. And even after that they still kept my passport till my medical was left with 2 weeks to expire before they issued my visa and by the time i received my passport in hand, I was left with a week to leave or go for new medical.Just prepare if they have your passport. They will issue you the visa.

I agree with Roel that you don't need work visa. when you have your green card you will be exposed to many opportunities to chose from than to tie yourself to one employer with a working visa.

Make sure when gathering all the nvc asked for, you dont forget to add your supporting documents like proof of your relationship such as pictures, boarding passes of wen ever you visted her, chat, letters from both families attesting to the bonafide of your relationship, weatern union receipts, receipts of packages you been sending each other and any thing you deemed as evidence. All this i mentioned is what we call front loading. You do that and the embassy will receive if from nvc and go through it before your wife interview and that will. Ensure easy passage. Because wen you carry the evidence in hand and go for the interview the counselor officers dont have much time to carefully go through them. So you might want to frontlaod your case and i bet it will increase your chances above 60%. Good luck.

bravagreen reacted to Crazy Cat in Question on k-1 visa
Ghana is considered a high fraud country.  That means your K-1 or CR-1 will get a LOT of scrutiny.  I suggest you do a search here for other cases from Ghana to see what red flags you can prevent.
You will most probably want to have SEVERAL visits before marriage.

Well good advises and logics here, but that does not mean you can file the k1 and then make your next visit. The process is long and I think you can file your k1 while you prepare for your next visit. Besides is going to take your a year and above before interview by which time you would have made more trips. They have changed all the counselor officers and brought in new ones who seem more professional. This new CO's, when they deny you then they have a very good reason not like the first time they pronounce you guilty before listening to your case. The current counselor officers are so basic in their interviews and all they want is just submit the evidence. Good luck

And that means I said USCIS issue visas??? When embassy returned a petition they said you are not eligible at "this time" not forever. USCIS have the power to revoke the petition. So don't get me mixed up and write what you like and refer it to me. It still stands embassy can only refuse to issue visa temporary and the worst they can do is send it back to USCIS . the embassy can't compel the USCIS either to revoke a returned petition "Mr".

Number 1,3 and 4 are same lies they add to if not all returned petition but about 95%. Except the number 2 which you alone have the answer to where you ever been married or not but, the others are easy to overcome. Send the USCIS , more proofs like, letters from both the petitioner and the beneficiary families, photos, boarding passes as and wen the petitioner visited the beneficiary, western union receipts, hotels receipts, receipts of tourist centres you visited, pictures of the petitioner with the beneficiary family, receipts of packages you sent to yourselves and your communication history. Add almost every evidence as the USCIS have the final say not the embassy. So do your best and read through all the advise and suggestions given you here and put them together and you will be fine. Make sure your rebuttal letters explain your relationship into details.

You were misinformed, the returned petition will NOT be reviewed.
After about 6 months you will receive a letter that says your petition has expired.
Nothing else, no letter with reasons, just that it's expired and that you can file again.
Returned petitions for K1's will never be reviewed or reaffirmed, only returned spousal petitions get that chance for review.
Returned I-129 petitions will not get revoked or denied, they are purposely allowed to expire due to a law suit several years ago
involving the P6C fraud marker so whoever told you otherwise is wrong.

Visit, marry, file a CR1. Stay as long as you can. Collect good relationship evidence and front load your next petition.

once you meet and you sure he is your ideal man you can go ahead with the K-1 but make sure by the time it get to his interview you would have visited him again, if not once then twice before his interview for that will give you more pictures and more boarding passes and trips together. It will help you with more receipts. I would make sure you focus on your evidence to the embassy just as you will focus on your relationship. Long as I know Ghana is now the most difficult embassy as we speak now and not Nigeria though Nigeria have it own issues. Good luck

Hello visajourney family. I went for my reaffirmed cr1 interview today and after asking me just 4 basic questions which are..
    Who filed for you?
    Does your wife have kids?
    How many?
    Have she been married before
Have you yourself been married before?
After this questions in just a minute he spent 50 minutes just typing on the computer. He finally gave me a check list and wrote on it that administrative processing and told me they need to verify some things on the file and they will contact me via fon call or email as to where to take my passport to and any other instructions that may follow. So I don't know how to call this, where sad or what?  So basically that was all what transpired at my interview today. He gave me my passport back and said he can't keep it because he does not know how long it will take for them to finish the administrative processing. He only took copies of original documents I sent there.
