Finally, my I-751 and my N-400 have been approved. Woo!

Just waiting on a date to take the Oath. I'm never moving countries ever again. XD

Woo, congrats to you as well. My N-400 was approved on the same day, yes. Then it went for a “quality check”. Now it’s updated to “you are in line for the Oath Ceremony”.

You could always send them a message and ask, but I bet you get an approval sooner rather than later now that I-751 is done. :)

Got an email from the San Jose field office saying they had received my I-751 packet. N-400 interview has been re-scheduled for Apr 13.

Well, mistake on the form or not, I got an email saying my citizenship interview has been scheduled. ^^

Just waiting for the documents to post online saying where and when.

They said it would be at Lee's Summit - also a combo interview. I said this was an undue burden and the officer said they would look into it. They said I could get an I-551 stamp in my passport to extend my status but my local office doesn't accept appointments at the moment (massive backlog). So, either way, I'm probably better off traveling out of state to get this resolved.

N-400 has been steady at April 2020. Same officer said they saw the two cases together/linked so that's.. good I guess? I hope it gets transferred back to California because traveling across the country to Missouri would be a huge pain for my husband and I - he's become disabled since we married and now can't fly so easy. And it'd be one heck of a drive.

With almost ironic timing, I was notified today that it was transferred yesterday. I don't know where to yet but the NBC sounds plausible.

    Progress!

Okay, this is what the packet looks like now. I’ll swing the axe and see what difference it makes.

    Thanks all. ^^

Still radio silence on my CSC-based I-751. N-400 now has biometrics scheduled for the 17th. Estimated case completion date of April 2020.

    This should be.. entertaining.

Filed my N-400 online this morning. It's being processed at the interesting named "Integrated Operating Env". I imagine a dystopian warehouse filed with stacks of incomplete petitions and one very overworked immigration officer...

It is just a suggestion, but you really might find using this shared Google Sheet to track our cases a lot easier than copy/pasting that table over and over. Reduces the chance of data being lost too. Just click on the N-400 August 2019 Filers sheet, fill in your into once and update in one place. No tables required. :3

Slightly off topic but since this will apply to many folks soon, I'm delighted to have found out that N-400 (for citizenship) can be filed online. Not having to print out another petition the size of 'War and Peace' (since they ask for 3 years of IRS tax transcripts) is a great relief!

Went in on Tuesday to my local ASC to do my biometrics. Code 5 so it was indeed just four fingers, a photo and signature. Took about 30 mins total, most of that waiting. All the staff were polite and friendly - which has not always been the case on this long old journey.

Can see that my case has updated on my.uscis.gov (though I didn't get an email notification of this) - looks like the update posted 24 hours after I went in, so I'm guessing code 5 really is just a simple ID check and they've moved on to sifting gloomily through my 200+ pages of tax returns, bank statements and phone records.

From what I’ve read on the I-9 instructions, that does seem like all you need.

I-9 is an employer obligation. I intend to let mine know if they don’t ask, of course, but not until I have my I-797 letter.

Right. In short, this looks like ending up far less draconian than the proposals first mooted by the Administration.

This proposed rule change has now been published on the USCIS site. There are a lot of exemptions and qualifying criteria with this proposed rule - please check the Q&A section to see if you are affected.

Proposed Change to Public Charge Ground of Inadmissibility

The following factors would generally weigh heavily in favor of a finding that an alien is likely to become a public charge:
The alien is not a full-time student and is authorized to work, but is unable to demonstrate current employment, and has no employment history or no reasonable prospect of future employment; The alien is currently receiving or is currently certified or approved to receive one or more of the designated public benefits above the threshold; The alien has received one or more of the designated public benefits above the threshold within the 36 months immediately preceding the alien’s application for a visa, admission, or adjustment of status; The alien has been diagnosed with a medical condition that is likely to require extensive medical treatment or institutionalization or that will interfere with the alien’s ability to provide for him- or herself, attend school, or work, and the alien is uninsured and has no prospect of obtaining private health insurance; or The alien had previously been found inadmissible or deportable based on public charge.

For those of you that haven't experienced it, the new USCIS Account website is a big improvement over the old one for tracking your cases.

Two-factor authentication, decent password length/complexity and it actually works with new case numbers.

On September 28, 2018, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence

You file to the service center assigned to your state of residence. It's documented in the instructions on how to file I-751. These instructions have changed in the past month so some of us will have different filing locations.
