Mumbai is fast!!! He's going tomorrow morning to get it. Hopefully by mid next week, he will finally be with me!!!

Whoop whoop yeah!!!! :joy: Our IR-1 & IR-2 petitions got approved June 15th, Texas Service Center just 63 days of stressing and dying from waiting. I nearly pass out this morning when I found a message from my husband that we got our NOA2s, I thought I was dreaming since I woke up 5am to prepare for our daughter's breakfast before she head to school.
I got a smile from ear to ear
Heading for NVC and needs to get prepared. How is everyone holding up? We are looking forward to hear more of APPROVALS.
    Good luck everyone

Are you referring to this? https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/DS-260%20Exemplar.pdf
If so, realize that this is a "mock up" for each and every single use case, not a page-by-page example. Rest assured it is nowhere near 76 pages long. It's an example of what the form would look like if you answered each question a specific way. For instance, answering "Yes" to "Do you have a communicable disease such as TB?" makes a text box appear that asks for an explanation. Because it's a different "look and feel", it's a different page in this document. It was probably used to explain to the IT people how the form should look given each and every possible option.

As to your other questions - yes, the petitioner can fill out pretty much everything. Your husband WILL need to bring the original signed copies (with "wet" signatures for any signatures needed!) to the interview, although I don't think he needs to sign anything, but you do (the I-864). Keep in mind, any joint sponsors/agents/etc will need to sign wet signatures, meaning if you DO have a lawyer, you must sign and then mail them (or bring them) the original to sign as well. All sigs should be wet. You don't need to send the originals to the NVC, however. Those can be photocopies.
Wish I had an answer for you about the divorce decree =( Hopefully that gets resolved soon!

Pay stubs should technically be submitted with the AOS package. They are not necessary if you have an employment letter as shown here: https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Step_4_Collect_Financial_Documents.html
For those who are employed by an individual or company, submit a photocopy of an employment letter, pay stub, or pay advance (direct-deposit receipt) that meets the criteria below:
Includes your name and the company’s name; Is on signed, business letterhead (you cannot sign the letter yourself); and Is issued within the last three months.

There are lots of good responses here, but I just wanted to chime in on the phone thing. Unless you just HAVE to have the latest Samsung or iPhone, you're usually better off with a prepaid like Virgin Mobile, Boost or any other pay-as-you-go. You can get a VERY good phone for $100 or less (as opposed to the $600+ for the latest and greatest), they usually have better prices, higher data caps (if any) and best of all, no contract.
I use Virgin Mobile (on the Sprint Network) and pay $40/mo (+taxes) for unlimited everything (talk, text, data) and International Texting. I just picked up a Motorola Moto G (3rd gen) for $100 and I love it.

You're quite welcome and good luck with the rest of the process =) Like I mentioned, at this time you'll just get one scan date. I personally received my email notification 4 business days (6 calendar days) after the actual scan date. You should hear back from them by 30 calendar days after your scan date (give or take) whether or not your case is complete or they need more information. Hopefully it goes smoothly for you!

I wish I knew some other alternative. Have you tried to call the # for them at all? Only other thing I can think of is to try tweeting @usconsmontreal (don't include any personal info) and see if they reach out. You might be surprised.

Depends on how backlogged they are. If your courier tracking shows that it's delivered, then they have it in their building. It's a matter of when they actual scan your document cover sheet to let the system know they have it. It could be the very next day, it could be a few days after. You have to call them to find out. Once they say they have it and gives you the scan date, start counting 30-45 days from there for case complete (and pray for no checklist--which adds another 30-45 days from when they receive the document you sent them for the checklist).
***Not everyone gets an acknowledgement email from NVC stating they received your documents on xx-xx-xxxx date. Remember NVC is consistent about being inconsistent.

Wow, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised at these responses, but damn... sounds more like a political facebook flame thread than anything constructive.

This process, which I'm sure nearly all of us have undergone or are going through, can bring a TREMENDOUS amount of stress and pain, as most of you well know. That in and of itself should make you even more amenable to understanding the desperation that goes in to petitions like these. I wrote one myself to try to get one going for Canadians to be able to come over like VWP countries with no chance of AOS and just got ripped by people clamoring about my entitlement.
Yes, there are problems with the petition as it is stated. No, it won't kill you to be tactful, logical and objective in explaining why.
Then again, maybe I'm asking too much...

Don't mind those that are overly critical. There's a certain segment of the population who NEEDS to have an authoritarian presence in their life - whether because of genetics or upbringing. They need to be told what to do and not really think for themselves on critical matters. The unfortunate thing (beyond that) is that they usually don't see their own faults, addictions and shortcomings as they criticize others. It's a shield to help insulate them, and that's why they go to great lengths and have great passion when focusing on the faults (or what they consider faults) of others. Usually the more intensely they criticize the more they have to cover.

Keep us posted on how things go =)

Our petition was not expedited. We were just fortunate that it took a little over 4 months for approval. Our petition was just sent to the NVC yesterday, nearly 2 weeks after the approval. If you filed around the same time we did and haven't received your approval yet, just hang tight. It's coming soon -

    Dear VJ Members,
Just wanted to say a big giant THANK YOU to this life-saving forum. My husband just got out of his interview in South Africa and informed me that he was approved (after first twisting my arm and giving me a heart attack).
We had an extremely smooth and successful process, with no RFE's and no checklists, no delays (in fact expedited), no lawyers - all of this due to the thorough support I received from this amazing site.
I promised myself that if we got through this successfully I would pay it forward and continue to be a support for anyone on here - but any time I try to answer a post, it has already been answered a dozen times over because of what an amazing community of supporters this is.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to message me. And thank you for everyone's insight!!!
    P.S.
We did have two "minor" hiccups - one involving a complicated joint sponsor situation and the other involving having to redo the medical exam after realizing the visa's validity date is tied to the 6 month expiration. I would be happy to advise further if any questions on these.
