In the example that a VJer provided, there is a heading called "Personal Information 1 Page". This has pages 5 and 6 that are identical. Next is "Personal Information 2 Page."Again there are two pages--7 and 8. Then "Present and Previous Information", again two pages in the application. Every section has 2 pages. Am I reading something wrong or am I a total idiot? Don't answer that one...hahaha Maybe it is this sample/slide show, but there are 76 pages????

While I'm asking, can the petitioner (me here in USA) fill out and complete all of these various pieces of paperwork that are necessary for our case once our papers get to NVC? If my husband needs to sign papers, are faxed copies acceptable?

We received an RFE from Nebraska saying they wanted a different type of divorce paper. We sent in the Deed of Divorce, which is the government's official database divorce paper. BTW, the government officers he has talked to (after waiting in lines all day in 105+ heat) keep insisting that the Deed of Divorce is their official divorce document. NVC says it is not acceptable, although another couple that is a friend of ours submitted the Deed of Divorce with no problems. This is maddening!! Meanwhile, my husband has to go back day after day standing in line to try to get them to give us this old-timey type divorce paper....grrrrrr

Are you referring to this? https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/DS-260%20Exemplar.pdf

If so, realize that this is a "mock up" for each and every single use case, not a page-by-page example. Rest assured it is nowhere near 76 pages long. It's an example of what the form would look like if you answered each question a specific way. For instance, answering "Yes" to "Do you have a communicable disease such as TB?" makes a text box appear that asks for an explanation. Because it's a different "look and feel", it's a different page in this document. It was probably used to explain to the IT people how the form should look given each and every possible option.

As to your other questions - yes, the petitioner can fill out pretty much everything. Your husband WILL need to bring the original signed copies (with "wet" signatures for any signatures needed!) to the interview, although I don't think he needs to sign anything, but you do (the I-864). Keep in mind, any joint sponsors/agents/etc will need to sign wet signatures, meaning if you DO have a lawyer, you must sign and then mail them (or bring them) the original to sign as well. All sigs should be wet. You don't need to send the originals to the NVC, however. Those can be photocopies.

Wish I had an answer for you about the divorce decree =( Hopefully that gets resolved soon!

Thanks for the info!!! I brought my financial evidence of support here with me to Pakistan. It would probably be good to go ahead and fill out the Affidavit of Support, sign it, and leave it here with him, correct? I could get him to make me a copy to take back to the USA to send to NVC. That way, it would be one less piece of paper I need to send to Pakistan when he gets his interview date. I also brought him a packet of recent evidence to add to his paperwork that we have accumulated since we applied back in January, 2016. I will fax him copies of pics, receipts, etc., from this trip to add to his "newer evidence."

I am just trying to get a jump on this since we are already behind because of that dang RFE. We have known each other more than 5 years, been trying to get married for 2, finally got married last fall, and trying to get this immigration thing going. Recent events in USA sure are not helping.....so scary.

I don't know what might give out first: time, money, energy, or health. He's 50 and I'm 65, so time is of the essence for us. This is just exhausting!!

Yea, that would be the way to go. Only the embassy/consulate really *needs* the originals. According to some paperwork, I guess you can send the originals to the NVC and they will forward them on to the embassy. I don't know if that's really the case, but I don't think I'd trust any of those folks with my original documents =)
