Kat&Jon got a reaction from Sade Em in New K-1 RFE Master List
Please click the link below to see the new RFE Master List:
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bzoWOXOCsvHICvLEZt540eG2CkqEFaPV8MY18Q6E0f0/edit?usp=sharing
I have compiled the data from the 125 page original RFE Master List Post and put it into a google sheets doc. Please keep a few things in mind when viewing this list.
    1. It is easiest to view this new list from a PC but if you want to view it from your mobile phone please make sure to have the Google Docs app downloaded to your phone. It will open the link in a much more easily viewed version for your cell phone.
    2. If you posted in the original thread and do not see your name on the list that is due to a few things: Timeline was not fully updated, information regarding what your RFE was for was not provided, or how you answered your RFE was not clearly provided.
    3. Date Approved on the document corresponds to when members received their NOA2 after responding to their RFE.
    Notes moving forward.
    1. I will continue to update this list with new data as it comes but to be added to the list and to continue making it helpful please make sure your timeline is updated with all the dates, you post exactly what your RFE was for, and exactly what you did to respond to your RFE.
    2. If you have a question about your RFE please continue to post them in this new thread but make sure to actually view the document before asking what you should send. I did try and make what was requested and what was sent in short and simple to not make the document to large, so if you do not understand what I put please PM me with the LINE of the document you are unclear about and I will give you a more detailed answer. (I kept the long answer on a side document only for me to view if needed) ex. Line 61 says "Left various questions blank on form I-129F" what did they leave blank? I would answer your PM with They forgot to check the questions NO for convicted of crime related to IMBRA.
General FAQ's From the Thread Answered from Completing the Document.
    1. What does RFE mean?
Request For Evidence- This is when USCIS needs more information in order to approve your petition.
    2. How long does it take to receive my RFE hard copy?
According the data it is usually 1 to 2 weeks. If it takes longer, contact USCIS and put in a service request to have a new one sent.
    3. How long after I respond to my RFE will I get an approval?
According to the data it is usually 2 weeks to get an approval. There are plenty of outliers that are shorter and longer but the average is two weeks.
    4. What documents do I need to provide translations for in English?
All legal documents such as birth certificates, divorce decrees, legal name change documents, and if able it helps to translate hotel receipts but these are not required.

    Kehinde,
Don't be scared if you left a lot of questions blank. The instructions tell you to leave answers blank if they do not pertain to you. The list I made in order to keep it concise was generalized. I can tell you that most of the RFE's on the list for unanswered questions were not ones that you could leave blank. IE it was a yes or no question that you had to select either yes or no in the box. As long as you checked all boxes yes or no, leaving questions that don't pertain to you blank is okay.
My main concern is your divorce decree. Every Divorce Decree listed on the list so far has multiple pages. This is not to say that yours should have more than one page, but there is a chance that your Divorce Decree you sent is the preliminary Divorce Decree that must be filed and sit for a certain amount of time so that it can be contested before you receive your Decree Absolute. Decrees differ by State and by Country so it could only be one page, but all the ones on the list so far have been multiple pages. If you are able, I would recommend double check with the clerks office and make sure in your area it should only be on page, that way if its not, you are ready for IF an RFE does come in.
I don't mean to make you worry with this additional information I mainly wish to help you be ready in advance for a possible RFE if you do get one.

Shush with that lazy talk! I am just glad Mrs Heo Luoi will be with you soon and won't have to shower in a bucket anymore!

I agree Khal Drogo! English showers are just awful! Thankfully some of the hotels in London seem to have American type shows and pressure so it is possible to get it, just apparently very expensive to retro fit. (Jon's brother in law is a plumber so he knows how to do it but says its expensive). Every time I visit Jon in England we mostly stay at his home which has that horrid electric shower nonsense! Little to no pressure that just trickles out and the heat is not nearly as hot as I normally like it! A nice hot shower is a must whenever I am over in that colder weather!!! All I can have is a trickling warm sprinkle!
Not to mention thinking of the electrical box that close to water is slightly terrifying... but apparently in all these years little to no accidents have occurred...
Another thing I noticed that is great about the US in comparison to England that I haven't mentioned before is PARKING! Apparently its always a fight to be able to use your own designated parking space or you have to pay for a parking spot... that is just crazy to me. I am sure there are probably some cities like New York and Chicago where you might have to pay for parking, but it seems to be literally everyone in England!!!
One thing that I do miss every time time I return home from England is the sense of history and the architecture. Here in Florida the only place you can still see older architecture is in St. Augustine and its Spanish so its quite a bit different from all the beautiful brick and everything you see in England. Though I think all brick houses in FL would be a bad idea from all the heat, it would be nice to see it!!!

If a man cannot give me one hour of his time a week, he's not going to give me anything. Ticket purchased, he will be gone in the morning. Good riddance.
Now can someone tell me what I need to do to cancel this jerk's visa TOMORROW?

For those with UK food withdrawal symptoms, I noticed the other day when shopping in a Publix supermarket that they have a British section in their "Ethnic Foods" aisle. I'm not that fussed about missing Brit foods, other than a select few specifically British items, but others mourning Rich Tea Biscuits, Branston Pickle, HP Sauce etc. might want to check out Publix.

Thanks ChasUno! I definitely understand the difference better now! It seems so simple the way you just explained it. I wonder why I couldn't wrap my head around it before!
As for calling the toilet "the John" I have no idea where it came from, but it does make it slightly funnier when my dad says, "Mention my name you will get a good seat" to Jon when he uses the restroom. I crack up because I usually follow it up with "Don't worry dad its already named after him." Which then causes Jon to shake his head and smilse.
Oh my family is so weird sometimes... I usually tell people who announce they are going to the restroom not to fall in since one of my friends did that once while SOBER! That was a good night.
I honestly can't wait for when Jon's Nephew comes to visit here. Mix the English accent with someone who looks like a California surfer and I am sure many girls will swoon. I plan to keep my phone at the ready for when we all go out because I imagine it would be some good video!!!

Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Hertfordshire etc. are "counties". Think of them like US states on a smaller scale to fit into the smaller country of England. Only difference is that unlike US states, UK counties cannot set their own criminal laws (those are set nationally), though they can set lesser council "by laws".
As for "Loo", I suspect it is a sort of shortened and colloquial version of "Lavatory". In return, I never understood why Americans sometimes refer to a toilet as "The John". At least when UK people call it "The Crapper", it's because Thomas Crapper manufactured and popularised a flushing toilet!

I've read the whole thread as it has progressed. These early excerpts still stick out:
    1. This is abnormal and indicates an inflexibility that will carry over into marriage, if you marry.
    2. Obviously, either he doesn't "know himself" or he was feeding you a line.
    3. True homesickness = calling/chatting with family. His behavior is abnormal.
    4. This is immature, unacceptable behavior in any venue, and it made you cry.
    1. In contrast, a genuine relationship/marriage is "the two of us against the world."
    2. He's grateful and polite.
    3. "He felt"?
    4. Now there's a statement of selfless dedication to your status as a couple.
    5. He's sensitive, and a compromiser.
    6. He values and respectfully regards your intelligence and life experience.
    7. There will be no financial disputes during your marriage.
    8. He values you over all others.
    9. This is the only indication of his machista behavior and attitudes that you'll ever experience.
    10. He has no ulterior motives at all, now that he's here.
    See above.
    1. He has a love of life and the intention of adjusting to a new city and culture.
    2. He's a congenial companion during shared activities.
    3. Quit "feeling" and start looking objectively. There's zero compatibility and zero intent to become compatible, or even to fake a modicum of compatibility. When I was single, I routinely ended dates abruptly, in their middle, whenever anyone exhibited even one of the above characteristics or actions. I'd just walk right out. Yes, I was snookered because I hadn't done the appropriate homework or had misread the other person, but I was grateful to see such behaviors early, because she was saving me a lot of time. Not once did I regret my leaving without looking back.
After 19 years of bashing my head against such walls, and of sticking to my standards and becoming a hermit rather than sell out to shallowness or abuse, I got my beautiful reward in Mrs. T-B. Still, if she'd exhibited any of the behavior that your "partner in life" has displayed, her shapely hindquarters would have been on the very next flight back to Ecuador.
Review the above qualities that you yourself have described, and ask yourself: "All the handsome, loving, sweet, desirable, available men in the world, and I want to keep throwing time, effort, money, and emotion at this one?"

    From a mans perspective................mine
Your man is just a big baby and needs to man up!
I have just moved here, and yes things are different, its a different country!!!, I have made an effort not ot go anywhere near anything that has UK about it
I miss my family, but thats normal
I haven't got a job yet so I am doing all the chores and cooking for my wife when she finishes work, its a big adjustment for her as well
I bought a bicycle to look around the area, I live in LA and its beautiful, there are horrible areas but there are in my home country
I came here to be with my wife, the woman I love not to complain about everything
My advice to him is straight and honest
Either man up or go back to your 'wonderful' Cuba
To the OP don't put up with his attitude, you are better than that, either he sorts himself out or you find someone who deserves you, you sound like a wonderful person xx

I don't necessarily disagree with the advice that you should refuse to marry him and allow him to return home, but...
If you truly love him and feel that he is a man who you could love forever, then I would advise getting counseling immediately, either couples counseling or one on one counseling for yourself. Even 3 or 4 sessions will allow you to have the peace to make the right decision(s) in the coming weeks.
Like you, I was stunned when my wife said she was unhappy after 4 weeks in Santa Fe. When I asked what part of it she was unhappy with, she replied, "all of it." Like you, having a spanish speaking community with some cultural ties was not a factor in making her less happy. Like you, she directly stated that I was a large part of her unhappiness. The very next Monday I called for an appointment to see a counselor about early marriage issues. My wife is resistant to all psychology so this was one on one counseling.
What I learned: early marriage is all about power dynamics... who has it, who is using it, how power is shared, how power is manifested. Communications is always important throughout a marriage but is extra important at the beginning. What you say and how you say it is crucial. A counselor can guide you through all of this in just a couple of sessions. It will also arm you with the knowledge you need to make decisions, presumably with no regrets.
Best of luck to you. Understand you're not alone and that even though you might be getting good advice from friends or here on VJ, don't under estimate the need for professional advice.
p.s. My wife has now been here for 3.5 months. She is much better. Our marriage is on much firmer ground. I ended the therapy sessions after seeing him 3 times.

Turns out the computers crashed! They were rescheduling it for nov 19th and few hundred people got turned away, luckily the systems came back up right before she left. They were able to finish the interview with an approval .

I must say the accent isn't the first thing that attracted me to Jon, but it is definitely a plus! I mainly love the way he says Capri-Sun... its more like CAP (as in baseball cap)ri- Sun. It makes me smile every time! I am not sure why its that one word, but even if I am having a bad day he knows it makes me smile and giggle a little when he says it so he makes sure to fit it into conversation when I am having a bad day!
I agree with CrazyWorld as I have started to say more and more British words as opposed to the American version. I seem to have just started copying what he says on certain things... the main example being football. I no longer call American Football just Football... Football to me is now what other Americans call Soccer and there is no going back... but one thing I will stand firm on..... IT'S A COOKIE!!!!! NOT A BISCUIT!!!! (here ends my two line rant)
Lastly, may I just apologize to every UK person who has been subjected to the question of are you Australian... to me those accents are two completely different accents. To me it would be like comparing a Bostonian accent to a Southern accent. I also apologize that no one in America seems to remember things from their Geography class. As someone who still dreams to be a teacher one day... it pains me how bad our education system seems to be.

I'm sure you Brits in America have experienced lots of attention because of your accent. We seldom go out without some woman telling my husband "I just love your accent". Last night on Halloween was the best ever.
This tiny tot of a girl dressed as a cowgirl with horse incorporated as part of the costume came to the door. My husband chatted with her saying he liked her outfit and asked the name of her horse. He gave her candy and said "Happy Halloween". As she walked away, she turned to her mother and said, "I like his voice".
It seems even four-year-old cowgirls are charmed by a British accent. Too cute!!

Kat&Jon reacted to TBoneTX in CBP at TSA Airport Checkpoints: Why They're There & How Best to Handle
People here often post questions about flying domestically when they're at various beginning stages of the immigration process. Answers vary from "carry your complete current documentation with you" to "you will have no problems."

Customs & Border Protection agents sometimes hang out at the TSA airport checkpoints. In August 2015, I flew out of a border-area airport in south Texas and took the opportunity to query the CBP agents at the TSA checkpoint.

T-B.: When you hang out at the TSA checkpoints, are you checking that
    foreign travelers are in status?
    CBP: Exactly.
    T-B.: For example, what if a K-1 entrant's I-94 is expired?
CBP: We have all kinds of ways of checking their status.
T-B.: Would it help if they have their marriage certificate with them?
    CBP: Absolutely.
T-B.: If they've applied for AOS and have their I-797 or at least a copy of their
cover-letter for their I-485, does it help?
CBP: Absolutely anything that they can provide will help a lot, and will speed things up.
T-B.: Why are you at some airports and not others?
CBP: We're at border airports and others that are ports of entry. We're not at all of them.
T-B.: But it still makes sense for legal immigrants to carry their current documentation?
CBP: Absolutely. It helps them and it helps us. It speeds things up a lot.
T-B.: I'll pass this along. Thank you.

This confirms that it makes sense to carry your most recent documentation with you until you have your green card.

I first had Mrs. T-B. carry her marriage certificate (MC) and passport with valid I-94.
Then, she carried her MC, passport, and copy of her cover-letter for AOS/EAD/AP.
Then, she carried her MC, passport, and her NOA1 (I-797) for AOS.
Then, she carried her MC, passport, and AP.
Then, she carried her first green card (= the law).
Then, she carried that green card and her cover-letter for ROC.
Then, she carried that green card and her NOA1 for ROC.
Then, she carried her 10-year green card until she became a naturalized citizen (= the law).

These documents came in handy at various stages, including at a Texas/Mexico land-crossing POE, a couple of airports, and especially inland CBP checkpoints while driving. At these last, the CBP agents are typically in poor humor and are looking to nail someone. For example, if you're not carrying your green card, they'll detain you for as long as it takes to verify that you're who you say you are.

The above is presented in hopes that it will help others.

Great idea as always Heo Luoi, I am planning to consolidate this thread into an Excel sheet or Google document that everyone can view. (I figure creating it will help me know what I should be careful when I eventually file my petition for Jon)
FYI, for all those who have posted in the thread I may reach out to regarding your post via PM to get clarification on your RFE and what you sent back and when you heard back about your outcome/approval.
I plan to have it in a format like VJ Member / RFE Date/ RFE Reason/ RFE Reply/ RFE Reply Date/ Approval Date
This way you can see how many days on average it is taking to get a reply from USCIS on an RFE once it has been replied to. I hope this will help everyone and any feedback while I am creating would be much appreciated just shoot me a PM with any changes or things you think would be helpful to add to the sheet.
    Thanks!

Sure you can. Scan the passport pages instead of copying then print them sequentially, four pages/two double-page spreads per sheet. Just keep pages from the two passports separate

Kat&Jon got a reaction from deepC in I was in uk now im in Bangladesh and my wife is petition a file i 130 for me so do i need any police clearance certificate from uk.?
Yes, you need to provide police certificates for any country in which your resided over 6 months. Since by your dates you lived there for over two years, I highly recommend you request a copy of your police records from the UK.
Edited: Corrected time frame. Upon additional resource check from the guides it is a 6 month time frame over the age of 16.

Kat&Jon got a reaction from AMZJ in K-1 interview question
Okay here is what I found!
Required Documentation A non U.S. citizen must present all of his or her BCIS documents to Driver Licensing personnel, such as Visa with I-94, Employment Authorization Card (I-688A or I688B or I-766) or I-94 with stamped picture. College students must also present an I-20 form completed by university, along with a letter from the Universities Registrars Office, stating enrolled full-time and in good standing. J-1 exchange visitors must have form DS2019. Residency Requirements All non U.S. citizens must also provide proof of residency in Kentucky. Kentucky law defines "residency" as a person who has established Kentucky as his or her state of domicile. Proof of residency shall include, but not be limited to, a deed or property tax bill, utility agreement or utility bill or housing agreement. Testing All non U.S. citizens applying for a first time Kentucky license, with the exception of permanent residents, are required to take the written, vision and road tests. This includes transfer driver's holding a valid license from another state or country. Driver's holding a valid out of state license, or a valid license from a Geneva Compact country, will not be required to hold a permit. Non U.S. citizens already licensed in Kentucky are not required to retest but they must be approved by Division of Driver Licensing. So it looks like the Docs you will need is either a copy of your I-94 which is the same document you use to eventually get your SSN. It proves that you legally entered the US or your EAD which is given once you file for AOS if you do the additional forms to get the Combo Card.
Everything else you mentioned already is correct with regard to the testing and a piece of mail being required. This is very similar to how Florida is but he is able to drive for the first few months in Florida using his UK DL. Good news is in Kentucky they are a bit more lenient and you are able to drive on your UK license for up to a year from entry! In Florida it's only 3 months. Hopefully with being able to drive on your original license for a year will help out until you can get your EAD.
