Kat&Jon got a reaction from Erik and Glydyl in New K-1 RFE Master List
First let me apologize for the delay in my response. Jon is currently visiting and Thanksgiving kept me a bit busier than usual! So sorry!
The google doc is still being updated by me, however the recent people who have received an RFE did not reply to this post with a full description of their RFE, what they sent back, or an update that it was approved. Without this information I can't update the list.
I did not include RFE's regarding the IMBRA questionnaire since when everything was moved over into this forum Vermont was processing a batch RFE for IMBRA when the law changed. However, there are instances where the questionnaire that was added for IMBRA was not filled out entirely and caused an RFE for leaving questions blank. This you can see in the list caused quite a few RFE's to be sent. I also did not include IMBRA in this list because after the original batch request there weren't many RFE's regarding IMBRA and also since there is a sub forum that is strictly dealing with IMBRA and all questions regarding IMBRA I did not want to take away from that forum all the helpful information that is provided daily.
People in the past have sent information in prior to receiving an RFE such as they realized they forgot to include their letters of intent and sent them in, but they only did this after receiving their NOA 1 so that they knew which office to send it to and what their case number was. From the few people who have done this there wasn't much of an issue, but some people who tried to beat their RFE received one anyway. As far as sending in your response before you receive your paper copy DO NOT do this. If you receive an RFE notice via email or text, you must wait for your paper version which explains what you are missing and what you need to send in.
Let me know if you need any other help!!!

I have compiled the data from the 125 page original RFE Master List Post and put it into a google sheets doc. Please keep a few things in mind when viewing this list.
    1. It is easiest to view this new list from a PC but if you want to view it from your mobile phone please make sure to have the Google Docs app downloaded to your phone. It will open the link in a much more easily viewed version for your cell phone.
    2. If you posted in the original thread and do not see your name on the list that is due to a few things: Timeline was not fully updated, information regarding what your RFE was for was not provided, or how you answered your RFE was not clearly provided.
    3. Date Approved on the document corresponds to when members received their NOA2 after responding to their RFE.
    Notes moving forward.
    1. I will continue to update this list with new data as it comes but to be added to the list and to continue making it helpful please make sure your timeline is updated with all the dates, you post exactly what your RFE was for, and exactly what you did to respond to your RFE.
    2. If you have a question about your RFE please continue to post them in this new thread but make sure to actually view the document before asking what you should send. I did try and make what was requested and what was sent in short and simple to not make the document to large, so if you do not understand what I put please PM me with the LINE of the document you are unclear about and I will give you a more detailed answer. (I kept the long answer on a side document only for me to view if needed) ex. Line 61 says "Left various questions blank on form I-129F" what did they leave blank? I would answer your PM with They forgot to check the questions NO for convicted of crime related to IMBRA.
General FAQ's From the Thread Answered from Completing the Document.
    1. What does RFE mean?
Request For Evidence- This is when USCIS needs more information in order to approve your petition.
    2. How long does it take to receive my RFE hard copy?
According the data it is usually 1 to 2 weeks. If it takes longer, contact USCIS and put in a service request to have a new one sent.
    3. How long after I respond to my RFE will I get an approval?
According to the data it is usually 2 weeks to get an approval. There are plenty of outliers that are shorter and longer but the average is two weeks.
    4. What documents do I need to provide translations for in English?
All legal documents such as birth certificates, divorce decrees, legal name change documents, and if able it helps to translate hotel receipts but these are not required.

Kat&Jon got a reaction from K1visaHopeful in Building Credit Score - Tips & Tricks
This is an excellent post with a lot of spot on information! I just want to share my thanks with Ggodoi and SimonandKimberly! Since I work in a bank I get questions like this on a daily basis and all of this information is correct! I almost want to send all my customers to this post to read all the information!!!
The only thing I would add is the "fine print" that might help others. It does not hurt your credit score to add your husband/wife to your credit card. In fact I recommend that you do, and make sure to include their full SSN when adding them. This way they are reported as having access to credit, but that they are not the owner of the credit card. This still shows that you are responsible when it comes to credit, just that you aren't the owner. This is how you are able to build a score from nothing.
The only way it would hurt your score by adding your husband/wife is if your significant other took their credit card and maxed out your account which would then make a dent in your credit utilization as noted previously OR if you were not aware of the charges and ended up being late on making a payment. Also, if in the worst case you are ever late on making a credit card payment I would hope it would put your mind at ease that you are provided a 30 day grace period to get your payment in without incurring a hit to your credit score. This is because banks will not submit past due data until the customer is 31+ days past due. This is actually part of the Fair Credit Act enacted by the government.
Paying your account on time is the biggest and most important thing when it comes to your credit score! You don't have to pay in full every time, just make sure you pay as much over the minimum as you can! I definitely recommend that if you can pay your balance in full, certainly do so, but the only negative thing about not paying in full would be interest charges and the affect of your credit utilization percentage.
One last tip... for those of you that have kids, I would also recommend adding them to your accounts when you can. This is something my parents did for me when I turned 16. They did not give me a credit card to use, they just let me sit on their account and start building a score, similar to what everyone will be doing if they add their husband/wife. This allowed me to easily get my own credit card when I turned 18 and went to college. I highly recommend this for any parents out there!
Remember, whenever you add an authorized user to your credit card account it is not required to send out a card for that person so if you don't want the person you add to have a credit card to use, they don't have to have a physical card, but they still get credit towards their own score!
    Hope this helps!

I am again very sorry to hear about the denial. I read a bit more about what you sent and what happened in the separate post you made. My best guess as to what may have been missing was more evidence of your INITIAL meeting while you worked in the US. It is much harder to prove this as you were here and he was here already so you would not have things like boarding passes or passport stamps for the initial meeting.

If/When you decide to reapply I would recommend writing them out a timeline that they can easily follow. This is something that I did and I think they found it very helpful. An example of what to write could be like this:

We first met while I was working in the US as a nanny for (family's name) on (date you first met) at (place you first met). We talked a few times and decided to make our relationship official on (date). At this point we had had many dates together at (list some places you have receipts for) on (dates). After my work for the (family's name) was completed I returned home to England on (date). At this point (fiance's name) flew over to spend time with me and meet my family on (date).

This is just an example from your side as the beneficiary which you can provide, but what may be better would be to provide the statement from his side as he is the petitioner with an example like this:

We first met while (your name) was working in the US as a nanny for (family's name) on (date you first met) at (place you first met). We talked a few times and decided to make our relationship official on (date). At this point we had many dates together at (list some places you have receipts for) on (dates). After her work for the (family's name) was completed she returned to her home in England on (date). At this point I went to visit (fiance's name) in England to spend time with her and meet her family on (date).

These are just examples. I would make sure to include the cities where you were at and went. The more information you can provide in this statement the better as well as the more information you can provide to prove it the better! I am so sorry I didn't more information about your RFE when you received it. I would have provided you all this then to try and help. It has worked for many others in the past.

Kat&Jon got a reaction from moosy in Building Credit Score - Tips & Tricks

That is the automatic notice that they send. The RFE reply goes back with the Blue paper which tells you exactly what they want back. If the additional evidence was not requested on the official RFE paper that gets sent back with your reply, then it is not needed. It is a bit confusing, but you can always call USCIS just to confirm. They can look up the RFE and clarify for you!

Edit: No you do not have to send a police record for the US citizen. They will verify when your petition enters the vetting process. The only time you need a police certificate is for the foreign fiance for both the Medical and Interview that are overseas.

    Kehinde,
Don't be scared if you left a lot of questions blank. The instructions tell you to leave answers blank if they do not pertain to you. The list I made in order to keep it concise was generalized. I can tell you that most of the RFE's on the list for unanswered questions were not ones that you could leave blank. IE it was a yes or no question that you had to select either yes or no in the box. As long as you checked all boxes yes or no, leaving questions that don't pertain to you blank is okay.
My main concern is your divorce decree. Every Divorce Decree listed on the list so far has multiple pages. This is not to say that yours should have more than one page, but there is a chance that your Divorce Decree you sent is the preliminary Divorce Decree that must be filed and sit for a certain amount of time so that it can be contested before you receive your Decree Absolute. Decrees differ by State and by Country so it could only be one page, but all the ones on the list so far have been multiple pages. If you are able, I would recommend double check with the clerks office and make sure in your area it should only be on page, that way if its not, you are ready for IF an RFE does come in.
I don't mean to make you worry with this additional information I mainly wish to help you be ready in advance for a possible RFE if you do get one.

Kat&Jon got a reaction from figwit in MEGATHREAD- What does a Trump Presidency mean for visas? (merged)
I know it has been said a few times already, but I wanted to reiterate so people can calm down a bit. Trump is against illegal immigration. If you think about it (and if I remember correctly) his current wife came into the US as a LEGAL immigrant. Why would he do away with the legal immigration that allowed his wife to come into the country?
Trump is concerned around working visas because he wants American citizens who are without jobs to be considered over foreign internationals. I don't agree with all of his ideas on immigration, and he does have the ability to enact an executive order, but keep in mind we have 3 branches of government here in the US to prevent the other branches from using too much power. Congress and the Supreme Court can overturn decisions if they deem them unconstitutional.
I know it is frightening to a lot of people, but honestly the most powerful person in the US as of right now is Paul Ryan since he is currently in charge of a Republican lead Congress. Immigration isn't really on Ryan's radar.
Also, as others have said, passing laws takes a long time so we likely won't even see the effects of Trumps presidency until the last 2 years of his election. That is if he even lasts that long. If he does what everyone believes he will do by making some huge mistake... Congress will impeach him and then it doesn't matter, but that is a whole different story that I don't think will even happen. (though it would be funny if it did)
Lastly, as Michael said, he wants to keep legal immigration levels within historic norms. This is key!!!
Please keep your hopes up and continue with the process. There is enough stress in this process without adding more to it. Just make sure to get those applications in before the increase in fees if you can!!!

Kat&Jon got a reaction from Bob_B in New K-1 RFE Master List

Kat&Jon got a reaction from wheresmykoala in Medical before submitting DS160?
It's okay if you don't have a tax return. It is usually the preferred method to prove income, but if you recently have a job over the 125% guideline you will need to have copies of recent payslips (6 weeks is recommended) and a letter from the employer stating the salary and that they are gainfully employed by the company and this should be sufficient. Many others have gone to London with just this and had no issues!
You only need a vaccination summary and your GP should definitely know exactly what you are asking for. They just need to give you a print out of all your vaccinations you have had. This will let you know which ones you are missing so that you can get them done before your medical. The medical history is really only needed if you had a history of things like depression so that they can have a history of your treatments and things like that to review. If you are in general in a clean bill of health this information is not needed. The medical does ask you to fill out a medical history form, but that just asks does your family have a history of cancer, stroke, etc. Just like any normal medical history form.
I hope this helps answer your last remaining questions!

Kat&Jon got a reaction from wheresmykoala in Tax Transcript for Embassy Interview
So I am probably over thinking this like I do with everything else, but I was able to log onto the IRS website and just print out a copy of my IRS Transcript for 2015. Will this be okay? I know most requested it by mail, but they let me just download and print the document.
I still plan to bring copies of my last few pay stubs since I got a pretty significant raise back in July. I was hoping to get a letter of employment with my new salary on it in time, but unfortunately my HR team has been dragging their heels and I don't think I will get it in time so I decided to get the tax transcript just in case.
I know I don't have to prove income a zillion different ways. I just plan to bring 2 as the document instructions say, but my 2nd one feels like it isn't as official since I just downloaded and printed it out. It still has the fancy IRS letterhead on top... it just looks so simple to me.
    Thanks for your input all!
