I doubt it's been waived. I think I read on the official site that biometrics is a standard requirement for all N400 applicants, unless you meet the exemption criteria. Hopefully your appointment letter is on its way.

My wife received her 10-year green card a couple of days ago! Such a strange process...she was told that she passed her N-400 interview but couldn't be formally approved because her I-751 hadn't been approved. A day later, the i-751 was approved and she received the green card a week later!   Her N-400 application now says "waiting for oath to be scheduled." Hopefully it's soon. Regardless, we're extremely relieved to have the 10 year green card

I wouldn't worry about that. Mine changed a few times. Currently it says 11 months but I just had my interview (approved!) so it clearly won't take that long!

I had the same experience only a few days after you. I didn't get a green card yet, but I received an official letter in the mail today that I'm a permanent resident now and should get my card within 60 days... Hopefully my oath will be scheduled much sooner.

I  passed my N400 interview a couple of hours ago !
I just wanted to thank every single one who posted his / her experiences here in Visajourney, you guys have been very very helpful from the very beginning. 
My interview was very easy, the officer was very very friendly! Just asked some yes/ no questions from the application. The civic test , reading and writing. The officer told me that he approved my citizenship and the next ceremony will be around mid July. I saw the online ceremony date July 2nd )
my status still interview scheduled but I dont care about it. 
As I always say: if you don’t have anything to hide and you are telling the truth, then you don’t have anything to worry bout ! It’s just a matter of time ! You are getting there very soon.

I'd take a chance and go ahead with the appointment solo. If your case is pretty standard, it may not be an issue that your husband can't make it. My reasoning being that your i-751 may have been approved without an interview had you not applied for the N400. At my combi, the IO didn't ask my husband anything at all. 
 
Worse case scenario, you'll pass the N400 and get recalled for a joint i-751 interview with your husband. 
 
It's the luck of the draw. Any which way, I'd prefer the rescheduling of any interview to be in the hands of USCIS rather than mine. That way the action and clock is on them.

I just had my interview in Milwaukee. I passed the naturalization exam, but he gave me a sheet that says that they can't make a decision this time. He said he first has to approve my I-751 case and then my N-400. He said he has everything he needs to approve both, but if he doesn't, he will let me know... He said he will likely be able to review and everything today, but if not, within this week, but I should hear something at least within a month... What? Pretty contradictory. During the interview he basically wanted to see my passport, state ID, and green card (not the extension letter). He didn't even care to see my husband's ID and I basically have to force our recent tax form (2018) and renewed lease on him... He went through all the questions in the N-400 and did the reading/written/civics test. I honestly can't even remember the questions anymore, one was the capital of the US, but I don't remember the other 5.... Uh, I wish Milwaukee was as smooth with combined cases as other cities/states. I really hope he looks through this today and approves both soon and we can proceed... 

Our 1751 was transferred to our local office recently, and we received a letter in our mail about I751 interview (same date/time as N400) - so we'll be having a joint interview thankfully!

If you still have I -751 pending you will have a combo interview. I can tell you that based on my experience. I had my N400 interview last week while I-751 pending. The IO asked me how I met my husband then proceed with civic and English test . Then he confirmed that I passed my citizenship test but I can't be approved yet as my I-751 is still pending. He had my file and looked through it and asked me some questions:
- My address
- My and my husband's employers
- How do we file taxes?
- Do we have kids together?
Then he said that my I-751 looks approvable to him but he will approve it later on that day and most likely I should get my N400 approval the next day. The total interview was only 16 minutes long. I brought a bunch of documents with me but was asked for DL and passport only.
 
Today I received a message that my oath has been scheduled and notice was mailed.

That's the million $ question! But first, congrats on passing your N400. 
 
It seems to be luck of the draw. Some combi people get both cases officially approved on the day of interview, others get called back for an i-751 interview (take your spouse along) and some have to wait it out for non-interview i-751 adjudication post N400.
 
It's encouraging that your officer said that he will adjudicate your i-751, that suggests it's not leaving his desk which should mean a quicker turnaround if your application is pretty standard. And by that I mean no minor or major red flags he'll be required to investigate. But passing your civics, and having a good N400 interview, all points to the positive.

YEAH!  I finally get my N400 Interview date... that will be 1 month from now.   Was thinking to go to the field office to have a passport stamp soon, as my GC 18 months extension will due on 07/16, but seeing the schedule now, if my N400 interview goes smooth, then I don't need to get the stamp on my passport, please correct me if I am wrong.

Does USCIS ever contact via phone calls?
 
I have the habit of ignoring any unknown numbers since I started receiving lots of scammy phone calls in the last year. If there's a chance USCIS might contact  via phone, I would like reconsider my old habit...

When I went for my biometrics, the ASC personnel gave me a magazine looking copy of the civics test to study. I liked it a lot and I even brought it to the interview to read while waiting since they wont let you use your phone while in the waiting area. I also downloaded the flashcards from the USCIS website to read when Im not in the house.

Definitely 100% and 100% lol. It's going well, thanks. So much anxiety but it will be all over next week finally!

Any news? I hope you get in for the one on the 9th! 
Congats! It's great to know that you actually got it within 3 weeks for the expedited fee! You are 100% an American now! Yay!

Got my passport on Friday 3 May and took that with me today to get my SSN updated at my local social security office. All done, took about 10 minutes.  
 
I don't have my certificate back yet from the passport office, but my USA passport was sufficient evidence as proof of citizenship and photo ID. The adviser was friendly, went through my ss-5 form and asked me to confirm the answers. Beforehand he told me this was an interview and I was under oath to tell the truth etc.
 
He printed out my information - name, address, parents info - and asked me to confirm all was correct. I had the option of declining a new card as it will look the same as my current one. But, I said yes as I have an apostrophe in my surname that's on my current card and not on my certificate or passport, and I'd like for all the official systems to line up. That apostrophe has caused me all sorts of delays at the airport. LOL.
 
So in 7-10 days I should get my new SSN card, but as of midnight tonight, my status should show on all formal systems as a citizen. Woo-hoo! 
 
 

Hi all,
USCIS just emailed me. They said that my I-751 and N-400 will be adjudicated at the same time and I have been scheduled for an interview in Jun-13 with Philly office. 
*apply I-751 in Sep-2017
*apply N-400 in Nov-2018

Yuuuup! After my interview it took two weeks for me to get an update. It went from Interview Scheduled to Quality Review and then instantly to In line for Oath Ceremony. So I am assuming the person who interviewed me put it on the supervisors desk where they got to it and reviewed it two weeks later. 
 
About your green card... i dont think you will be getting it. They told me since they approved both the I-751 and N-400, they wont be sending me the PRC. i just have to wait for the Oath. it may be the case for you too. but who knows. Some get it. some dont i guess
 
I read online that USCIS has 120 days to make a decision on your case after your interview. So worst case scenario... 120 days. but im sure you should hear back soon! and hopefully get your Oath scheduled fast aswell!

We had a combo interview, and received a new permanent green card in about 3 days. At the same time, oath notice was mailed. So -  permanent green card is very possible. 

Got the date of my interview in Los Angeles: 6/12/19

I passed my interview last 5/1 and I am now just waiting for my Oath. Thank you everyone for the input!
