Hey you guys,

Recd the interview letter. Sched for 09/02/21. I have updated the spreadsheet as well. I am applying u/ the 5yr rule and here are some quick questions,

1. the letter asks me to bring. the GC, Passport and other docs used in connection to enter the US. If memory serves well, all other docs were in a sealed envelope and was takend by the IO at the airport! so what other docs are they talking about.

2. apart from this do i need to carry original of my tax returns?

3. what other doc di the 5yr applicatns carry with you that you think I should carry?

I am sor very sorry for your loss. I was in the same position in 2019 and I understand you pain, fear, and frustration. Do not worry about the documents. I believe you have a conditional green card for the time being (2 year validity). You are in legal status. Find a therapist, a job (cuz you can work now), and cherish all his memories (even if it hard right now).

 

90 days before your GC expires, you can apply for your extension. THats another road, two years from now. So dont worry. Please take all the time it takes to grive and miss your spouse.

what option do I select if I stayed in USA on H1B between 18th and 26th birthday?

If you are filing more than 5 trips or 5 places of residence online, then all yopu can do is attach the documentation where it asks you to upload files. If you are doing a paper-filing, then attach it as an appendix to the application.

If you were here in the US between your 18th and 26th birthday, you have to mark "yes". The place where it asks you for date of registration, mark that as did not register or leave the deates blank with a comment.

Filed for N-400 on 5yr rule.

I am eligible to apply for my citizenship in Spe 2020. However, at this point I am going into a debt relief program to setle with  my creditors. Will this affect my standing for citizenshp application?

Hi guys,

completed my interview yesterday. it went well. the officer spoke to me for an hour. it was just a general discussion and she just let me do most of the talking and gave me life and survival tips! in the end she said I am approved and saw me out of their inner chambers!

there were no specific questions that were asked, it was more of a concversation. she was very kind and understanding and did not do or say anything that would let my anxiety go up. She also discussed in detail about her dogs, her son and a funeral that she recently attended. Probably she was very nive because I prayed to my husband the previous night and that morning before i went in for the int.

things went well and was told that i should rec the card in 3-4 weeks.

Hi Guys,

They have scheduled the I-751 interview for me on July 22 at 9:30 AM with a specific officer whose name has also been mentioned in the call-in letter. Little anxious about this interview!

trying to cope each day. All im doing now is think about what is happening immediately. Tom took care of everything else that had to happen in the future. Im not ready to do it. Just now. Each day as it comes. Thank you for your kind words  guys.

Hope y'all are doing well and I would like to first thank y'all for all the info and support that you provide here. Today, I received a mail which stated my N-400 has been officially withdrawn and I also received a  call-in letter, asking me to appear for the I-751 interview. It specifically mentions an officer that I have to meet and in the bring with you column I am asked to bring my husband's passport and his death certificate. My questions are,

1. Do they usually mention the name of the interviewing officer in the letter?

2. Do i need to take any other documents apart from the two that they have mentioned?

3. Do i need to be worried about anything? (yes I naturally worry about everything and that's how I maintain a slim figure )

as per your advice, I sent in my letters. Today, I received a cancellation receipt of my N-40. I think about 2 weeks ago i went in for my i-551/ I received the stamp./ Sorry that  Im not ablt to give you a proper date on whihc i received it, since Im still drowning my sorrows in alcohol!

Dear VJ family,

In accordance to your input, I have sent in the waiver for joint application and the withdrawl of my N-400 application. It is to be delivered tomorrow. Will keep y'all informed as to how it goes. I am also attaching copies of the letter, hoping it would come in handy for someone else in my situation.

I think you have received solid advice and I don't have anything to add to that. I just wanted to share my condolences as well. I cannot imagine what you are going through, and what a tough road this must be. I think honoring your husband by continuing whatever bucket list the two of you had together is not only a beautiful way to honor him, but also a beautiful way to occupy yourself and your time in a positive way while you grieve. I think he'd be happy to know you did that.

Yes I am still in SL and I have ordered 21 copies of the DC. i am trying to take it one step at a time but it gets harder by the day. We only had a direct cremation, hence I think I'd have to ask the mortuary for some paperwork to send to USCIS. The other creditors i'm not worried about now. Its just USCIS is so finicky with everything, I needed to make sure I dont let something slip through the holes!
