Whichever payment method you choose, better hurry to re-submit the package.  USCIS will release a new edition of the I-485 form on Dec 23rd.  From https://www.uscis.gov/i-485 --
We will reject the 07/15/22 edition of Form I-485 if it is postmarked on or after Dec. 23, 2022. We will reject the 12/23/22 edition of Form I-485 if it is postmarked on or before Dec. 22, 2022.

The medical exam is valid for 2 years. Why rely on USCIS connecting your later sent I-693 to AOS papers? Try diffirent places, I got appointment same day when I did my medicals.

    @Dantrolene
Great! For anybody in similar situation think of these things:

    - Where would the immigrant be getting their state ID / driver's license?
    - Where would they be seeing their dentist / doctor?
    - Where would they be filing taxes once they become LPR?
    - Which airport are they going to use to fly domestically and internationally the most?

These and some more questions will help determining which address to use if you have multiple places you spend your time at.

That makes sense. I'll keep it Michigan then and if she happens to be in Washington when we receive the biometrics notice. I'll have her travel to Michigan for her biometrics. Hopefully they give enough notice for biometrics appt. so we can arrange traveling etc.

@Dantrolene also remember to include fee free forms in your packet: I-131, I-765. You may think you may not need them now, but you never know. Plus they're free.

I-864 is never submitted with the I-130.  It is submitted to the NVC during that stage of the consular visa process.

Now that you have switched to Adjustment of Status, you will need to submit the I-864 with the I-485.

1 - check. Just make sure you have enough funds in the account and it's written clearly.
2 - anywhere if I am correct. But it needs to be from a provider USCIS recommends
    3 - include everything together

It's been approved. The processing is a bit weird. The decision upon I-130 rests with USCIS no matter what, they approved it and the form remains theirs. They just forwarded the part of issuing the visa to the Department of State. The thing is that you can at any time take the case and have USCIS process an adjustment application regardless of whatever DOS is doing.

What you are referring to is what's known as the "90 day rule", which is a weird thing that DOS abides by and USCIS doesn't. USCIS will let her adjust just fine, but if she were to abandon the application and later try to seek an immigrant visa then DOS will do a lot of hand-wriggling and basically accusing her of immigration fraud. So yeah in this case, if she files for AOS she needs to stay in US at least until USCIS approved her I-131.

Yes, I-765 and I-131 for EAD and Advance Parole. They're free if filed with I-485 or while one is pending.

No, the approved I-130 doesn't have to have anything done with it. The correct thing to do would be to write to NVC that your mother will instead apply for AOS and to close the case they have going on over there, but this is more of a courtesy you'd give to the government so they won't waste an interview slot, it's not a hard requirement.

Again, no guarantees on the timeframe even if you move to Cleveland.  Also, no guarantee that the change of address sent to USCIS will stick.  Some VJ members have had issues with it.

I-485 processing time depends on the USCIS local field office that has jurisdiction over your area.  Estimates are posted here -- https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

As for the EAD work permit, some have gotten it within a few months, while some had to wait over a year.  There's no guaranteed timeframe.  So that's another factor that you and your mom might want to consider.

No need to wait.  Just be aware that once she files for AOS, she could be stuck here for many months, if she doesn't want to abandon the process.  It's currently taking 8 months or so for USCIS to process I-131 for AP travel permit.

Yes.  Request that the approved I-130 be sent to USCIS for adjustment of status.  Send the request to NVC only after you get the I-485 receipt notice.

Hi Y'all, now I am a USA citizen. I tried to log into uscis account but keep saying invalid entry despite my certainty of username and password. Is it because I am done with this journey they closed my online account ? I would like to have access to my online documents I uploaded.

Second question, I would like to register to vote, but I am wondering if I can do the whole voting thing Via Email only?  I don't like to get anything in the mail since I am moving and traveling frequently.  Please let me know if I can register online and vote also in November online as well!?

Approved. Interview was at 10:10 and got in 10:45. Left interview at 11:20. Asked officer I wanna same day ceremony, he said it's up to the scheduler. So Waited outside and then was called for same day ceremony. I think you need to let them know that. Make them a aware of your request. . Anyway, Got ceremony same day. Yay! Officer asked about copies of all documents mentioned here on the forum section. So check them all and take them with you. Ceremony started at 1:30 and finished at 2:30. It was smooth and kinda short day. Next day applied for passport at passport agency and showed I have travel plans the same day. I made an appointment one week in advance at 8 am. There was no line when I arrived. So they picked up my app. And asked me to come back same day at 2 pm. I picked it up. End of story. I wish all the best to my awaiting fellow citizens.

I think it's worth it for me for that spur of the moment drive across the border for domestic trips. But if I have to have one, I should have gotten the 52 pages passport book so that I definitely don't have to worry about renewal for the next 9 years.

You would have to ask them. My most recent experience was getting new passports for family through ACS consular and it only took a week. We didn’t pay for the cards, just 52 pages passport books.

they ask if you owed taxes, not if you'd filed yet. Seeing as you're not even obliged to file until April, you're gold.

So I owe Taxes for the year of 2018 and yeah, haven't filed yet for 2019. They wanted proof I was actively paying it off, so a payment plan from the IRS. When you set up a direct debit with them, they send you a confirmation payment plan in the mail. So I have that but the annoying thing is, I have to wait for the folks at USCIS to send me some kind of form that will request that I send them more information in order to complete my citizenship. And like I say, the guy said it would take ten days and it's coming up to three weeks now with no sign. Of course THEN I have to wait for them to receive and process the proof of payment plan. And schedule the ceremony. Annoying thing is, I really need to spend some time back home for many good reasons and I've been delaying it for so long because of this whole draw-out process.
I hope you're right about being almost there! cheers for the reply.

I get my interviewed on 7:55 Am Tukwila/Seattle office and I got call in on time and was done likes 20 minutes. I left went to have breakfast with my husband , then come back for oath ceremony at 1:30  and done at 3PM so by then I am officially citizen.
They have 2 oath ceremony a day 8:30 and 1:30.
Yes after interview you can leave and come back for oath ceremony .
I heard if you get junior officer then she/he can not approve the same time so you have to wait again for the decision and oath ceremony shcedule.

Hi, I just want to share my Citizenship Interview experience last year.

“I had a planned trip to Vancouver Canada dated December 13, then my interview was scheduled on December 11. It was nerve wracking of thinking about the unknown but I chose just to wait and see what happens after the interview. While I’m waiting for my interview that time, I read some options on what to expect or what to do after the interview. Anyway I passed my 9:45 am interview and had an Oath Taking the same day (1:30pm - done by 3pm). The next day on the 12th I went to the Regional passport agency in Seattle to apply for my passport which also I planned ahead I made an appoint a week before my interview. Since I’m traveling on 13th, I brought my hotel reservation which was booked long time before I even I knew about my interview.  The passport agency accept my application so as my hotel reservation copy and I got my passport the same day, I waited until 2:30pm.“

So even if you get same day Oath Taking, you cannot travel because you need your US passport.

Plan A - if you’re not scheduled same day Oath Taking just requests another date, then you can travel using your Greencard. Though some applicants that didn’t get the afternoon Oath Taking were scheduled the next day AM Oath Taking I’m not not sure what time.

NOTE: The risk of rescheduling your Oath Taking might be a long wait.

Plan B - Anticipating  that you get same day Oath Taking -

Plan ahead get an the earliest Appointment at the Regional Passport Agency for the 25th and bring your ticket and let them know your travel plans and request for the same day processing.

Well I hope this help a bit.

    Good luck!
