Thank you guys.  So it looks like a few weeks less than 1 full year before they schedule an interview.  Hopefully mine will be a little quicker, but I don't expect much better.

When I filed I checked the processing times.  I can't remember exactly what they were but I do remember thinking it would be about 12 months.  Currently it is 12.5 to 14.5 months. So while it is taking longer than before it is not that much worse.

My case status has also remained unchanged since submitting  the application. Still says "Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Emailed"

Yes I am still waiting.  I submitted online 3/31/20.  I received a Biometrics reuse dated 12/14.  I am not sure how the Covid restrictions are affecting the San Bernardino office.  The USCIS website says they are open which is a good thing, but who knows if they are slowed even further given the crazy levels of Covid in the county.

Not an easy choice.  I had to work through a similar process with my father but I was stuck in the US as my father was not that bad when the Pandemic started.  It is possible to leave Australia without too much trouble if you "normally reside overseas".  As far as I am aware California has no quarantine for people coming from overseas, so there is no time lost there.  Depending on your interview you may be stuck in the US some time until you have your Oath ceremony (some places do same day) and then until you get your US passport, though you may be able to get an urgent passport based on a close relative being extremely ill.  You will have 2 weeks quarantine or return to Australia which you must pay for (unless they grant you an exemption due to your fathers condition).

In my case I had many long discussions with family and largely based on their input I made the hard decision not to rush over.  In the end it was all so quick that I would have been stuck in quarantine when he passed so would not have seen him anyway.  My cousin who lives in Singapore has entered and left twice now but she can work remotely and finds she gets a lot of work done while in quarantine.

Murphy's law will mean that if your husband does go to the interview the baby will decide to come then (possibly triggered by your stress about it), and if you reschedule the baby will come at a time which would have meant he could have gone.

One thing to think about is that the US is one of the few (maybe only) countries which has 2 levels of citizenship.  If your husband was to pass the interview and get a same day oath before the child was born your child would be at the higher level of citizenship.  If your husband is not a citizen at the time of birth your child will be on the lower level of citizenship (at least that is my understanding).

I think one key piece of information that only came out in a later post was that due to COVID the hospital will not let the father come in unless he enters at the same time as the mother.  In this case I think delaying the interview is justified.  You only get one chance to see your child born.  It is a moment to be remembered and cherished.  Everything else takes second place.  I hope the birth goes well for you.  Enjoy the major life event.

I just checked the new site and found a biometrics reuse letter dated 12/14/2020.  Finally some movement.  Interesting fact my last biometrics were for ROC back on 22014-10-08, so more than 6 years ago!  Anyway feeling good after finally some movement following months of nothing.

Interestingly I had no email / txt about the biometrics letter.  The old site shows nothing, no change to status, next steps etc.  New site also shows no changes to the first 2 tabs (stll saying it is taking longer than expected), but the letter is there in the documents tab.  So keep checking that documents tab people!!

Is it the "Invalid date" that you are concerned about.  If it is I would not worry about it, it seems multiple people on these forums have found a similar issue.  It is probably a system glitch.

Note that according to the website the new questions will only be used for people who apply in December 2020 or later.  As you applied in March, they should use the old questions.

I would also recommend using online filing if you can.  It will not let you submit unless all information is completed so there is much less stress about "have I answered all the questions", it also means the application goes straight into the queue without the delays of the post and someone at USCIS copy typing it into the computer.

I think it indicates nothing more than the computer is confused.  My completion date also vanished when I reached the estimated date last month.  I think that the processing is going so slow that the computer does not have enough information to make an estimate.

NotMoreForms got a reaction from ZKT in There Are Many Reused Biometrics - How do you know if you'll be one of them?
From what I have seen, it appears that the reuse parameters change from office to office.  It also appears there was a period when some offices were trying to process cases as quickly as possible (possibly to beat the then expected furlough) and were more likely to reuse biometrics.  So I do not think there is a general rule for when / how biometrics are reused.

You can log into the myUSCIS website to see that the attachments are there.  It is also possible to upload additional attachments, so you could add anything which did not upload properly.

When I applied for N-400, I was expecting the usual mountain of paperwork, but there really is very little to submit.  I suggest you do it online, the system will tell you exactly what to submit and will not let you submit unless you have all questions answered.

I have not read of any proof of residence issues.  Owning a house does not prove it as you could easily rent it out.  They probably cross check your travel details to see how long you have been out of the country.

This is a common issue regardless of what computer you use.  There seems to be a little better success using Internet Explorer.  If the documents are visible on the myUSCIS website, that should be ok.
