As I mentioned already I personally wouldn't trust her.this situation honestly makes me think if she used the husband to come here, and maybe he doesn't even know she wants to get divorce and is seeing you secretly and then comes back home and has a "happy" marriage. While she is looking for someone else out the house.
Also if she came here and got married the husband had to file for AOS it takes a few months and they pass an interview etc, she is granted a green card that 1 years and 9 months later she must do ROC ( removal of conditions ) for that she needs to go again with her husband to an interview and proof their marriage has been real.
By the timing you mention around 2 years she came here it's like she is about to do that, and if she has been seeing you for over a year... That mean her green card would be in trouble so I belive when the husband said he didn't know about you. Of course not she is being nice to him to get the green card on ROC. And she got mad you ruined her plan and probably said to the husband she won't see you again or who knows and that's why she doesn't talk to you for now. Maybe when she has the green card she will contact you again.
It all looks very sketchy to me and would you trust someone who dates you while married?? The same can be happening to you.
I don't know what exact help you are asking here, but as a woman that's my opinion on her and how she is acting.

Take Darnell's advice, if she makes decent money she'll be able to support you and you'll be able to see how you work as a couple which would undoubtedly alleviate some of your parents concerns.
Agree with the poster who said all of you in one house is a recipe for disaster. Moving to the phillipines would also help you move out of your parents house and when you move back to the US you could live with just her and not your whole family.
Good luck with whatever path you take.

all great questions, back at post #1 - but I suggest something else, and it's this:
go LIVE with her for a year, in the PI, marry there, you be the house-husband there, filing for a DCF'd I-130 when the time is right,
    then
    report back, when able.

icv21 got a reaction from TBoneTX in husband's influence on wife's desire to work
I personally think doesn't matter our opinions. If for having a career and a job her marriage in is danger does she rather have a job??? Is being married just not enough for her???? Of course she has the option to work like everybody else but she is part of a marriage now, with who she has to be talking is with her husband and fixing it the best way for both of them to be happy. Yes women work in America if that was the initial question.
Maybe she can work from home?? Or she wants to be around people??? What kind of career does she have???
If the husband provides enough money she can join some church group and do week activities. Or if she wants more money that what her husband gives to her they have to talk about that too...
I think you are a free person to make choices but it doesn't mean you can just do whatever you want because people in a forum agree with you, your friends have to talk and respect each other and work on their marriage so she doesn't have to worry about assets if they get divorce or money. ( I know you said they are happy but Im just saying her new actions could affect her marriage )

    hi VJ friends....
    First the good news APPROVED!!!!
I want thank everyone here on behalf myself and my wife.
we arrived about 30 minutes earlier for our Interview.
we sign in appox 10 before our appointment. we waited for about half hour.
The IO called our name and ask my wife USC to in first with our lawyer. Told me to wait 15-20 min.
IO was very professional and respectful. immediately swore her. asked her for id.
asked her full name, date of birth, place of birth for both of us. when we met? when we got engaged? who propose to who? where was the proposal?
when we got married? who attended? did we exchange rings etc lot basic questions than he ask for more evidence such as bank statement he check to see if both deposit money in the account.
then look at my life insurance, auto and health make sure we are both listed. We didn't have any lease or mortgage on our name because we still at my parents until we find place we can afford. He asked and that's what we told him. My wife also pulled out a photo album with aprox 150 photos. He went over a lot picture ask where when and who in the pictures.
after that he sit her aside and went got me. pretty much asked the same questions including about my previous marriage. I told him the truth. I guess my advice is if you are legit and have everything organized in order.
Most important be honest and truthful. You shouldn't have a problem. after all the question he went over my application question name, address, phone number, Yes and No question from I485. That was it. He said everything looked good and he would review my papers and if everything was good he would approve us. We left and I was kind disappointed he didn't approve us on spot. Now again they have to do their job so I was fine. Me and my wife went out to eat
after a couple hours I got the email on my phone USCIS order production of my new card I was so Happy I was screaming at that restaurant, My wife was laughing. It was a very special moment for both of us. I was a journey so far, I'm glad its over now. We are just gonna wait for my card to arrive. We plan on traveling and enjoying our life and be back in two years. We are not worried about that... We have our life ahead of us. She my other half and the love of my life!! I hope everyone here a successful journey with their papers. God Bless and good luck.

    no - not at all.
there really is no concept of 'normal', here -
    however -
if the husband pulls down enough money to support their life, and takes care of his wife, and the two of them handle each other's expectations,
then where is the unfairness? A housewife is not a drudge, at all.
    what country is she from,
    and
    how is her english skills,
    and
does she have actual job skills useful in america for a job that pays more than the minimum wage (if yes, what?) ?

    You just have to file:
I-130 ( petitioner in this case your wife ) $420
    I-864 ( affidavit of support )
    I-485 ( beneficiary you ) $1070
I-765 ( this will allow you to work while you wait for the green card, takes a maximum of 90 days to be approved) free
    g-325A ( both of you )
    I-693 ( medical exam )
I-131 ( advance parole to be allowed to travel while waiting for the green card ) free
Don't hire a lawyer! Your process is simple filling those documents and wait for USCIS.
    You can do it yourself

I came here with ESTA too and I didn't know my now husband would propose to me and ask me to stay. So I didn't have any documentation. My family had to mail me my vaccinations book and birth certificate.
So if you have family in Sweden who can do it for you, if you have all the vaccines they will just do a blood test and TB test on you. But I believe they put the flu vaccine during flu season..... Which I don't believe in flu vaccines either....
You will also need to print your I-94 proving you entered the country legally
You can get it here: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html;jsessionid=nJR3JDsHyQQv98cz2z52SjNLCNQTm9MnDNZ53GDcvvW2bFjDdhhV!-1326691254

aww love all the stories you guys!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We met in Spain. A close friend of mine had friends from France and The states visiting , for 2 days my friend was telling me to join them to go show them Barcelona and do some tourist stuff but I didn't want to because one of the French guys I knew already and he had a crush on me so I didn't want to have to spend all the time talking to him....
Well the last night my friend told me we are going to pick you up and going out tonight wherever you want to or not.
I perfectly remember it was a Wednesday night 11pm, 25 February 2009, I went out my building and all the boys started getting out the 2 cars and my friend was introducing me to everybody when I saw my husband it was like in the movies when everything stops around you and you can't listen properly....
I didn't speak any English, the basic from highschool and very poor basic I must say.... He didn't speak Spanish but we "talk" all night ( 4 hours, conversations were pretty lame hahaahh ) he invited me to come visit because I was never in this country before and I said yes sure but I thought he was joking or just being nice....
Before leaving he gave me his business card with his email and I told my friend "Gerard he doesn't know yet but the american boy and I are getting married" and he said what you are crazy which one??? And I remember saying: I don't know I didn't understand his name but that one, while pointed at him and smiling, my husband was so confused smiling back hahahaha!!!!
Since then we chatted everyday few days then every day using hotmail MSN.....
4 months later in June I came to visit my husband with the friend who introduced us and after that he tell me why I didnt move here with him so we could get to know each other better!
we didn't know about green card and visas were so hard to get, so that wasn't possible.... but we kept seeing each other, I would come here for 89 days a couple times a year, basically living together half of the year, until this last summer he proposed to me and we got married!

During my travel to Iran, I was sitting in an outside restaurant in Tehran with my friends. A small boy who was selling socks walked up to me and said: the man standing outside bought you all socks from me becuase all the flower shops are closed at this time. So I went to thank him for buying me like 20 pairs of socks and thats how it all started. It's been over 2 years now and waiting for him to arrive in USA. Hopefully his AP will be end in a positive way.

Oh sorry to hear this But I am curious as to how you meet on youtube. through the comments section?
Everyone has such cute stories! I love this personal human interest post! Thanks Pheebs!
    Our Story:
I had just had eye surgery and was off work unable to do anything for quite awhile. I was on FB looking at comments on a reggae site and saw his post. I checked out his page and he seemed interesting. We became FB friends. Months passed and we chatted alot, he always checked on me everyday to see how I was and healing from surgery. He was just so sweet but I didn't really take it serious...until the day when my ex-boyfriend called and wanted to get back together. I said yes, went to bed and couldn't stop thinking about my FB friend. The next morning i woke and said I have to go to Jamaica to meet him first. It was such a compelling feeling. My ex was never there for me through my whole surgery ordeal, but he was. Flew to Jamrock...stepped out of the airport...our eyes locked and I knew it right then. This the man I'm spending the rest of my life with.

    Think about this.
A person can be in USA for several years on student visa and for several months on tourist visa.
During this time, they can get and spread their diseases around to many people.
But then, at some point, they marry and have to prove or get vaccines so they won't (in future) get and spread their diseases.
So it's OK to get and spread diseases . . . before marriage . . . but not after.

I successfully completed my interview this morning! We waited for about 30 minutes, before a lady called us back. We were asked to raise our right hands and swear to tell the truth etc. She asked to see my husbands birth certificate and drivers license, my birth certificate. Went through the regular "are you a terrorist" list. Asked how many kids we were up to and I answered three. She said "thank you so much for making my job easier, we don't need to ask any of the standard questions", lol! I think my husband looked kind of surprised, so she said "I guess I can ask a question" and she asked how we had met, which we answered. She then said since we had brought a photo album she would have a look through and she asked us a couple of questions about where some pictures were taken, then said thank you, that's all I need. We were in there for 5 minutes tops!
I think me and my husband were kind of shocked. I asked if she needed anything from my passport, she said no. I asked is everything good? She said yep, you should expect your Green Card in the mail soon. She didn't say anything about removal of conditions (we've been together 8 years, but only married for 6 months). She was very professional, but very comfortable to be around.
Glad to have had a good experience, and only 69 days since sending my AoS in!
